It makes perfect sense to me. Why would developers release games on XBOX? For one, AND THE MAIN ISSUE, They dont buy games. They have been conditioned to not pay for games. Secondly, Developers have to release their game on the Series S which is lacking so much Power. It makes sense for Devs to Skip XBOX especially if they dont have a Gamepass Contract.
Elden Ring sold millions of copies on Xbox cod sold millions of copies on Xbox all the major games sell well enough to justify it. PlayStation players aren’t even supporting all the exclusives

This is why, ULTIMATELY, I can’t get TOO worked up over certain things in gaming (like the LEGO Horizon thing or how certain companies are moving) because I PERSONALLY FEEL that gaming peaked for me back in the 6th or 7th generation. Though I STILL GREATLY ENJOY gaming, I can’t help but feel that I’ve already experienced its PEAK and now it’s just going to be a slowly descending downward curve at this point, with greater and greater DIMINISHMENT in my “excitement level” for it with each passing year and generation now (though I also sometimes wonder if that’s just because of ME getting older and more cynical, having seen all the major gaming “shifts” from its start up until this point). I’m also finding now that I don’t care so much about “how a game LOOKS” as much as I care about if it’s doing anything INTERESTING (or at least looks enjoyable) from a “design standpoint” (which is why I ultimately get frustrated watching livestreams of current gaming showcases with a live chat because every game that doesn’t look like it’s on the level of GTA VI is automatically DISREGARDED by the chat or called “trash” and it just makes me shake my head at everyone like, “man…y’all are some REAL superficial gamers, huh?”).
The sixth generation was the peak of gaming. Funnily enough, it was the last generation where Japanese companies were completely dominant, and when Western companies knew their place.
East vs. West battle, the East is objectively better in pretty much every way. Rockstar is carrying the West on their backs and have been for a long time. 😂
I’m more amazed that it took only ONE GENERATION where the West arguably took the lead (the 7th gen) and it led to the proliferation of ALL the current BS in modern games (paid online subscriptions, DLC, micro-transactions, loot boxes, Battle Passes, always-online DRM for single-player games, barring and/or removing access to digital purchases, etc) that gamers COMPLAIN ABOUT. But otherwise, I agree. I find more and more nowadays that I’m automatically EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS about buying ANYTHING at launch (or at all) from one of the major Western publishers.
No they not but I have to admit that at the last treehouse show they just had, the 3rd party games were more impressive than their first party. Metroid was a let down for me. Mario brotherhood was not what I wanted for their next Mario game. That Zelda game was interesting but I have to see more of it before I can co-sign or write it off. Was hoping and wanting a new better fire emblem than the last one they pinched off. But they a no show.

Getting back people you already had isn’t growth. “Selling faster” means nothing long term. Xbox One actually sold faster than the 360 the first half of that generation. They’re making more because of inflation and doing things like rasing the price on PS Plus and selling games like part 1 remake for $70. Basically squeezing as much out the base as possible. I don't care about gaming as much as Thrash does. I have gotten what I needed from the industry and the hobby, and I'm ready to move on to other aspects of life. It's safe to say that anyone left on Twitter discussing gaming topics is primarily there for whatever they can monetize from clicks and engagement. And if someone is able to generate revenue from being disingenuous about console war topics, I'm all for it. The reason being is that we as consumers NEVER had any control or even an inkling of choice when it came to this industry. Change was going to come regardless of whether we wanted it or not. I started gaming in the arcades and I've closely followed every wave and shift in the industry over time. We're in the midst of another shift that will fundamentally change how people receive and play the games of tomorrow that will eventually become popular. It's a waste of time trying to influence the way gamers of the future adapt to these changes because the future does not belong to us. Whatever Microsoft does no longer matters. They have made their headlines and their intentions clear. Eventually, they will own everything. Fighting them is useless.
Nintendo will never allow this. More so, because Nintendo is a Japanese company, they have laws that protect them from hostile or monopolizing takeovers such as this. Sony can be bought, but I still don't see it happening. Money isn't the end all be all. Plenty of wealthy organizations that no one thought could be topped, ultimately failed. Microsoft better be careful. At worst, I see them shutting down xbox. At best, they focus their efforts on publishing.

“Selling faster” means nothing long term. Xbox One actually sold faster than the 360 the first half of that generation. Sales already peaked for PS5 they will never sell the same volume they sold in 2022-3 again.
They’re making more because of inflation and doing things like rasing the price on PS Plus and selling games like part 1 remake for $70. Basically squeezing as much out the base as possible.
Those software sales are boosted by PS4,certainly not games like Returnal Ratchet etc pretty much Spider-Man was the only PS5 game that did big numbers

I don't care about gaming as much as Thrash does. I have gotten what I needed from the industry and the hobby, and I'm ready to move on to other aspects of life. It's safe to say that anyone left on Twitter discussing gaming topics is primarily there for whatever they can monetize from clicks and engagement. And if someone is able to generate revenue from being disingenuous about console war topics, I'm all for it. The reason being is that we as consumers NEVER had any control or even an inkling of choice when it came to this industry. Change was going to come regardless of whether we wanted it or not.
I started gaming in the arcades and I've closely followed every wave and shift in the industry over time. We're in the midst of another shift that will fundamentally change how people receive and play the games of tomorrow that will eventually become popular.
It's a waste of time trying to influence the way gamers of the future adapt to these changes because the future does not belong to us.
Whatever Microsoft does no longer matters. They have made their headlines and their intentions clear.
Eventually, they will own everything. Fighting them is useless.
Nintendo will never allow this. More so, because Nintendo is a Japanese company, they have laws that protect them from hostile or monopolizing takeovers such as this. Sony can be bought, but I still don't see it happening. Money isn't the end all be all. Plenty of wealthy organizations that no one thought could be topped, ultimately failed. Microsoft better be careful. At worst, I see them shutting down xbox. At best, they focus their efforts on publishing.
