The only D models of F-111 were stationed at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM. Hard to believe that they flew all the way out there from New Mexico, just for an airshow. I was a weapons systems specialist on the D and F-111F in the 80's and 90's.

I worked on the FB111A at Pease Air Force Base (509th SAC Bomb Squadron) from 1972-1974, awesome aircraft.

    Thank You Very Much Indeed!
I was fortunate enough to attend LIAS 1985 and it was the best air show that I had ever seen.
I was shocked to see the magnificent FB-111A in the flying display and I certainly was not disappointed! I am a bit surprised that the famous dump & burn F-111 torch pass was not included in your video from the 1985 display?
    Thank You 4 Posting!

In the Sixties, a French book, traduction of an English one, was spoken about 210 units of a «three-men» "B-111A" version...

A mix of FB-111As, F-111Ds and one appearance of an EF-111A.

James Pierson I think there was a single A in there at the end before the Raven arrived.

    Were they USAF or RAAF?

Taurean Lea Those beautiful birds are USAF FB-111As.
Judging by the longer wings and Triple Plow II intakes.

All Varks in that vid were USAF.
The ones painted in the 'Dark Vark' camo with the longer wings were Strategic Air Command FB-111's. The very last one in the vid with nose art on the right side was the FB nicknamed "Queen Hi" from the 528th BMS, Plattsburgh AFB. (After SAC retired these birds, many of them went down under and flew in the RAAF as F-111G's.) The light grey Vark with the lump on the top of its tail is an EF-111 from TAC. The Varks with the shorter wings were Tactical Air Command F-111D's from Cannon AFB sporting the tail code 'CC'. This was the 27th Tactical Fighter Wing and had 3 squadrons - the 522nd, 523rd & 524th. The ones in this vid are from the 524th. (More than a decade later, a couple of fighter pilots from the 524th did a raw song about their squadron, 'The Hound War Song'.)
