@Legendary_Pursuits haha I'm already making one for someone after they saw this video... and that was not my intention.. I got deer to hunt and guns to build!
Hey guys still got a buck tag and 2 doe tags here in Pennsylvania. Was out of rifle do to being down with cold and work and event with wife. Archery 🏹 didn't get out at all.
Excellent method of quickly loading your flintlock. Two questions: when it is wet outside (rain or snow) do you still keep your short-starter/powder measure exposed on your strap? Second, is it feasible to prime with 2F? I shoot a .54 and .58 and followed the general guidance of using 2F as the main powder charge. Thank you for the great content, glad to see you still active on TH-cam, and Happy Holidays.
@richarddean3154 I do yes but never hunted in the rain to the point that water is getting in there, if that's the case it's raining enough I'm not hunting with a flintlock. I have blown it out from debris. I have primed with 2f but I prefer 3. The gun I use 2f for is my 15 ga and I do is 4f for it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Merry Christmas
The only possible problems I see is the serious possibility of forgetting to return the stopper to the horn before you shoot , and rain water filling up your powder measure if the weather is wet. Is your muzzle coned? .
That bone ball starter is a great idea👍👍
Great video Brian! Some version of that ball starter is going to be on everyone’s work benches this weekend! 😂

I hear ya! Hope you have a great flintlock season! I’m going to try hard to get a buck on the ground! Good luck buddy!
@Legendary_Pursuits same! I still have my buck tag too

Excellent. At some point, I’m going to sit on a bench and find the real difference of 3F versus 2F in shot placement.
Yah that would be interesting for sure.
The measure combo short starter is geniuses. Keep the videos coming. Watch them all.
I have some leg bones on the bench that I’ve been pondering and now I think I know what to do with them! Great tips, thanks.
