- I took part in anorganised ride in the Peak District this past weekend. Organised by Glorious Gravel, the Peak District Winter X was just amazing. Riding over Mam Tor via the broken road, through the picturesque villages and towns, up hill and down dale, the ride had it all.

Nice work, I think my arms would be jelly after riding on those rough roads without suspension.
Yeah some were quite technical, especially the downhills. But loved it nonetheless

I started riding fairly recently and I want to do some events this year, but as I only have a hardtail XC I have been putting off gravel events so far. I can't believe how extreme some of this route is for a gravel bike, I think I my bike might be right for me after all.
Your bike would likely be perfect, some of the knobbly bits were quite brutal without suspension. Good fun though.

Thank you, it’s a Ribble Gravel ALe but I tend to not use the electric so much now my fitness levels are better. Didn’t bother with it at all on this ride. It’s not so heavy at 13kg either.
Thinking of changing at some point in the near future, I’d really like to build my own but lots of research needed.
Thought so, I also have a CGR ALe but I defo use the motor LOL. Solid bike, coming up to 3K miles on mine@@jonfarcher
Just looked at your videos and notice you have the CGR, I was very close to going for that one but ended up going with the gravel instead.
There’s nothing glorious about gravel it’s crap
