LED Lenser have amazing service, I bought a handheld P7 torch of ebay , needed a new on/off switch. contacted led lenser and it turned out to be a fake torch, however, they did send me a new switch free of charge and took all the details for the seller. Great company to deal with. Just ordered the MH10. Great review video.
Great video!!! I’m in the US and I just purchased the same model. I just needed a nice head torch for walking our dog in the dark. I purchased a cheap one that came in a 2 pack, and while it was rechargeable and had 5 light settings with red built into the lens, it was not very bright and they were very cheap and broke quickly!!! I appreciate your video very much…well done!
Andrew Michael - There were several reasons for doing this Andrew, firstly this smaller channel allows us to experiment with other types of content, more raw stuff and shorter formats without harming the performance of the other channel. Also, there were 2 definite groups of subscribers. Those who enjoyed the technical stuff and those that like the foraging and fishing only. So this way I can give them exactly what they want, and make the technical videos easier to find.
I don't have a tone of experience as mine arrived in the post this very morning. I've read other users complain that it does not maintain full power, and I definitely seeing that with mine. It's pretty damn bright when you turn it on, but five minutes later it has faded. The torch is hot to touch at that point, but you can turn it off and straight back on and it's back to full power. There are products out there like the H19R capable of 4000 lumens - that's nearly seven times brighter than the MH10, so it shouldn't be too hard to sink the heat away. FWIIW I am probably now going to buy a brighter headlamp, which will make my MH10 surplus to requirements.
Good review, I have always used LEDLENSER for work and agree with their customer service, i asked to purchase the strap and pouch for my P7.2 after I damaged them while at work, they didn’t charge me at all and sent 2 straps and the pouch free of charge! Just ordered the H14R.2, as I wanted super bright when I’m on the beach 😃.
The Fish Locker Workshop I only ordered it last week but because of Christmas I won’t get it until 2 January. I will let you know, I may even do a review if I can pluck up the courage to do one.
I'm a Coastguard Rescue Officer and I have a LEDlenser i18r that I use for searches and its absolutely brilliant, I have an olight headtorch though but I may swap to this one haha 😁😁
I have killed a few headlights on the rock edges in Northumberland, Coleman, My Petzl eventually gave up, the Led Lenser is outstanding even on the lowest setting. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
Im exactly the same as you always using the cheap ones. It's got me thinking mabey I should get a better 1 now as well lol. Keep us updated with how your getting on with it be good to see 3 or 4 months down the line if it's still going strong and worth spending the money on it. Very informative thanks!!!
It is better to just buy the best one first because your going to go through 4 different “cheap” headlamps because not any particular one does everything you need and by the time you’ve bought 4 you might as well have bought the one really good one but now you have 4 crap headlamps and still have to go purchase that good one you really wished you would have bought at the beginning lmaooo i just told you my life story experiences of going through headlamps 😂
Great review John and been looking at price of £80 it looks a good peice of kit. Been looking a replacement for my Tronixpro and it seems excellent for money.
Anglingaddict 75 - I’ve been giving it a try in a few different scenarios it is really good stuff and definitely gives you and edge in coloured water. 😉👍🏻
Thank you for the video. Mine seems to move from high to medium automatically after about 30 mins unless you change this setting so worth making sure it was in fact on full and not medium after the 12 hours test?
- Like I say in the review, its not the brightest but it has been perfect what I do. If you want to light up the whole beach there are others on the market, but I weighed up weight/brightness and battery length and this was what I chose. :)
The zoom ring is so tight that you need both hands to adjust it. With gloves on it is difficult to adjust it at all in fact. This was way better on the older models like the SEO5 for example. The light switch should stick up andbe more tactile (not so round and smooth) so that you could feel where it is quickly and even operate it with gloves on. The light beam is not as evenly distributed as it was on older models. Feels like led lenser has lowered their aim a bit. Other than that, the light is bright and fits quite well around the head.
To resolve the tight zoom ring issue you can take off the lens (by zoming full out and wiggle and pull on it). There is a groove with an oring on the lens barrel, this groove needs to be deeper. Just remove the o ring and use some fine sandpaper or a needle file in the groove to deepen it a bit.
Which headlamp should I buy for night fishing? I am very confused. Please tell me only 1 model, the price is not important, as long as it is of good quality.
Great review. I must get out of the habit of buying cheap and cheerful only to get thoroughly peed off when the damned product breaks or just stops working. This includes nearly everything I have purchased in the way of terminal tackle, bait elastic, fishing line (braid, mono) etc etc, and instead rely on your very honest reviews. I have bought what I am now stuck with and cannot justify replacing things at present. Hopefully when it comes time to replace certain items you will have reviewed them. If you would be so kind as to review cheaper items like fishing line and terminal tackle it would be much appreciated. There are a lot of products out there that don't do exactly what it says on the tin but mysteriously get great reviews. I have noted from other videos you use Cox & Rawle hooks so purchased them instead of the cheap hooks offered on e bay (At least that is one thing I've got right). I have also started using Gerry's Fishing and like you find them most helpful.
David Bainbridge - A lot of the tackle and kit I use is cheap and great value for money. I have reviewed a lot of items already and plan to do more. Braid - done. Spinning reel - done. Hooks/swivels - Cox and rawle as you know. Boat rods - done. Boat reels - done. Spinning rod and travel rod - done. Shelter - done. Lures - I’ve show sidewinder in many recent vids. Anything else?
No! you cover most items well as usual I found the braid video after I sent my email. No doubt I will find fishing line when I've gone though all the videos properly. Keep doing what your doing and I will catch up eventually. love the fact you have split your postings into two separate parts, it makes it so much easier to navigate to the bits I need.@@thefishlockerworkshop
I absolutely hate that when you go online to register it, you have this insane legal document to approve. Just register my light right? I passed on the registration. I suppose the warranty is void without registration but I’m not signing that crap.
Oops ,had mine for a week now and have noticed it is now getting worryingly hot now on high beam after 10 or 15 mins to the point you can burn your lip on it when you test it.Looks like ill be the one calling lenser😀

I have the same lamp for over a year and agree with your comments. Recommended.
Steve Parsons - Thanks for the comment Steve, it’s always great to hear other people’s opinions. 😉👍🏻

Brilliant review and video John. Thank you for your time and effort on the review. Tight lines, stay safe pal.. 🎣🇬🇧❤️
I bought one of these 4 or 5 years ago,
It's been excellent, but it's about time now they updated to latest 2170 batteries
New channel I see :) Love your other one and happy to support your new one. Happy holidays
FirstTimeAquatics - Thank you. This will be where I upload and reviews or technical how to’s etc. Also a place to try out new content 😉
John we love you. Bit pointless splitting your videos as we will watch everything you produce, now we have to do it twice. Keep up the great work.

I’ve got exactly the same lamp, I use mine for walking mainly. Had I’d almost two years and can’t fault it.
just brought it for dog walking and night hikes with scouts

L.R.S FISHING - I got the lamp at the end of summer. But this winter will be when it’s really gets tested. 👍🏻😉
@@thefishlockerworkshop yea I bet thanks agen for being so informative 🤝🏼👍🏼🎣

Philip Shaw - I would buy from a dealer not from eBay or anywhere 😉👍🏻
Hi John seen price on amazon but had you said best from a dealer.
MH14R is the boss of the range
Wouldn't go back to any other light now! Love my LedLenser❤️
Couldn't keep my focus off the seagoo in the back either..😁😁 Good stuff that👍

Thank you so much for the accurate description, can ledlenser be used for running?
Quality i will be investing in one it'll go with my ugly stick and slosh 😀👍

Yeah my adjuster is very tight too,i beleive this is a known problem,a squirt of WD40 made mine a bit better

Still working well ? Im about to pull the trigger on 1
what's your thoughts on this vs the new mh11?
Zero Point Productions - I have not had the chance to use one, sorry.

nice review John although you should change the title........LENSER :)
Malcolm Bennett - Haha. Thanks for that mate. I don’t know how I could make that error when the name is in the thumbnail 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@thefishlockerworkshop no worries, I only really noticed when I typed the name to see if it would be on sale online :)
