Hi Need your help. One of my relatives from US came to India on vacation. While returning to US, he left behind his HoverAir X1 selfy camera drone for me as a gift. This drone weight is 125 Gms with battery, max height reach is 15 mts There is no controller with it. It has self flying modes, it flies own its own, shoots videos and photos. It can be controlled using a mobile app in manual mode. Now do I have to register it with DGCA ?, Do I need a flying license for it ? Please guide me on this.
@@itsadish61 hey there, honestly I had no issues! However, I kept the batteries and the controller in my carry-on bag and I kept the drone in my check-in bag. According to my understanding, you can bring a drone for personal use. I even managed to fly. You cannot bring a drone from the original DJi pack for example as that is considered as import and India doesn't want people to potentially resell drones. To be honest, nobody checked my bags on arrival but of course you never know. I had no internal flights. hope that helps
@@peacemind2247 I am planning to buy one as well and bring it from Dubai. When you say cleared customs, did they notice the drone and did not question you, or did you manage to bring it out even with customs noticing it? Also which airport did you land at?

Vat is already refunded when you buy the drone. Only for gold and some other goods you can claim. You can only claim if you give your passport number when invoice is generated.
@@vaibhavhande24 thanks no issues even no one asked any questions, but it doesn’t mean drones are allowed because i have read yesterday someone got caught on delhi airport because of drone i am sharing the link with you checkout the comment box of this video th-cam.com/video/eiuM4UM8e-o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6Z9nFURysEmB9nWP.

One question
These rules you said in the video is for 250g and
Below 250g drones are safe to buy. The more advanced drones with mapping capabilities are risky.
