However there are places which are great known by the running communities. Personally, I'd like to run at night within the confines of my residential area, away from traffic and wild animals.

      Agree 100% about RC Elite V1! It's been my go to 5k-10k plated racer. I use the Rebel V2 for 5k-10k as my non-plated racer. I have the Takumi Sen 8 arriving this week. Tried the Nike Streakfly. I can see how it would work for some folks. It just wasn't for me and I returned it. If you are a Nike fan, I still think the Next % 2 remains the Nike go to shoe for 5k-10k.

    • @chuarh7393
      @chuarh7393 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      FACTS! RC Elite v1 is just the best! It isn't the fastest and sexiest carbon racer out there. But the combination of the mild, yet noticeable rocker and that just-right amount of silky soft Fuelcell is amazing for workouts at all sorts of paces. Nearly 600km in, and they never disappoint. If there's just one flaw about them though, it'd be the overly prominent lateral flare and slightly instability. But I'm a supinator so they don't cause any pain. Would 100% buy them again if I could find them now.

      @@timsmith7816 I bet you’ll love the Takumi Sen 8. It’s awesome-I used it on BolderBoulder 10K, PR’s on its challenging, hilly course and the shoes disappeared on my feet in the best way possible--nimble, bouncy, stable (lots of turns)-really fun. Even got 2nd in my AG!

      One of the best shoes Adidas has made in a long time. Definitely underrated, because like Seth in this video, most people are gravitating towards max stack these days. The Takumi Sen is being skipped over for being a low stack carbon racer. Which is funny because it has a taller stack than the original Vaporfly 4% (33mm/27mm vs 31mm/21mm). I've heard people say they'd be scared to use the Takumi Sen for anything longer than a 5K. What have we become?

      @@defaultusername4410 Yeah it's kind of crazy how skewed things have become the last couple years. Tons of people picked up running as a hobby during covid lockdowns, and all they've ever known is this crazy new world of max stack super squish trainers. I'm not a barefoot born-to-run type of person, that's too far in the other extreme, but the fact people look at shoes like this New Balance or the Takumi Sen and think that you can ONLY do short runs in them is crazy.

      @@nickatnite16 Yep totally. I still wear my Streaks fairly regularly. Very much agree about the influence of marketing and all these review channels on the way people think. I've seen people who just started running and they already have a rotation bigger than mine, including pro tier carbon racers, and they don't even race haha. Not trying to be a gatekeeper, they can buy what they want, but yeah the marketing is effective.

I ran a hilly 10K (BolderBoulder) last month without having even tested it outside and the shoes disappeared on my feet-nimble, stable (lots of turns in that course), everything you want in a race shoe. For a lightweight person like me I think it could go to at least HM distance. And it doesn’t require super fast paces only. Martha

    Have you run in this shoe at 10k pace or faster Seth? It's a very aggressive shoe realistically designed for sub 3 min Ks. Don't know if your opinion would improve but I don't think you can really base your opinion on shoe designed for 5k/ 10k pace if you haven't run that fast. Dragonfly's also feel terrible running slowly but there fairly agressive and designed for 5k/10k pace.I know they're spikes but it's the same comparison.

From the first step I knew they were right for me. And I haven't wavered a bit from that first impression. If you don't like them you don't like them. Why sugar coat it when there are plenty of better options that hit the mark on the first run.

    "SOME CRACKING🌟"... Could you further investigate this?
    Believe in the Run experienced the same cracking when flexing it in their review video. Maybe bend the one that is cracked several more times then set it next to the fresher one and see if they still the same curvature(how high the toe is off the ground). Then flex each to see if the cracked one is still as stiff as the other. I had my hopes up for this shoe, but if its a defective design will go with a diff shoe and hold out for the next version. Please advise.

  • @AGC828
    @AGC828 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think because this is NB's "race shoe line...the SC" is the reason they made this shoe with a low stack height of 28mm. Nearing the heigh of a "flat". And with the soft FC fforam I 'm guessing you get more "road feel"? Which for some is preferred (I prefer it vs a "numb" feeling from a high stack shoe). To each his/her own.
    Maybe compre the NB SC shoes to the Asics metaracer....both are "flats" for running. The Metaracer design is original. Shoe is overlooked. For people who like to go "gold school" and run with a shoe that is "like a flat"....

So I figured I would look for a modern racing flat and found 8 billion videos hyping up the Streakflys and figured hell why not. I'm Soo happy I did. In the last 2 months I have killed my P.R.s using those shoes. Sure I put in a lot of hard work to get faster but I am going to give credit to the shoes. They just fit my running style for the fast races so perfectly. And they are pretty sweet in a rubberized track as well. They lock down to my foot perfectly. If you get them I hope they workout for you. I wear a size 12 in all brands and the Streakflys are no different. I also have a very high arch and a medium wide foot. I only weight 160 pounds so in a lightweight. They are just a perfect show for me.

    So As New Balance Durability I wont buy it as long as any Nike product for fast running.

    These shoes deserved less puntuation, the durability is much lower than you think ! The outsole is weak and the upper terrible

    A good life is putting God first, your family second and yourself third. If you can do that with joy in your heart everyday, life is good!!

    Seth, what a great question. For me this is simple. Life is less about what you can get and more about what you can give to others. After a day reflecting about my family on father's days and experiencing the joy of family, it makes me more determined to raise my kids to understand the joy of giving to others. This is what life is all about. keep doing your thing, Seth...loving it. #DGRStrong
