This section really needs some de-interlining. -On the Broadway Line, eliminate the W and have the N run local and therefore via the Montague St Tunnel. Have the N continue along the Fourth Ave Line on the local tracks instead of express. -Have the B and D skip DeKalb Ave. One runs onto the West End Line and the other runs onto the Sea Beach Line’s express tracks which have been inactive for years. The junction south of 59th St can be modified to allow such a service. -The Q runs express on the Brighton Line and the Franklin Ave Line gets full-length platforms and runs local. -To retain Sixth Ave Line connection to DeKalb Ave, the abandoned Myrtle Ave station gets rebuilt as an express station. So at DeKalb Ave station, the bypass tracks are served by the B and D. The local tracks via the tunnel are served by the N and R. Finally, the local tracks via the bridge are served by the Q. -86th St station gets converted to an express station with the express tracks terminating and Ocean Pkwy gets both platforms fused by covering up the express tracks to allow express trains to terminate without merging or interfering and to make it obvious express trains don’t continue and merge, respectively. This is due to Coney Island’s limited turning capacity on all four lines and also to de-interline.
