The cops in Mafia actually enforce traffic laws while LCPD just referance them.

Mafia II: Almost realistic behavior
GTA IV: Somewhat dumb but kinda realistic
GTA V: Stupidly aggressive
Mafia 2 has much more realism on police behavior. Mafia 3 police will shoot Lincoln on sight probably because of the racism in the 60's. Mafia 1 has a good police behavior, the best in that time with 3 types of police action and the wanted system. GTA series didn't care about speeding but care about when their cars got rammed.
In the revenge trailer of mafia 3we can see a black guy being brutally arrested it would be cool if Lincoln was brutaly arrested as well

no no, its even better when you call them off with lester and then THEY bump into your car and you get wanted level, and then they instantly shoot you. I still don't understand why the effort into the police AI is so awful in gta

@Akim Mulya mafia 3 take place in 1968. Meanwhile GTA V is set in modern day 2 completely different settings. Racism was heavy in the 60s compared to now.

the Police in Mafia 2 has everything, compare to GTA. they are really dumb and not so friendly
at least gta 4 cops is little bit more friendly than just being a happy trigger maniac like the gta 5 cops.

Gta 4 cops are total psychopaths. They kill you and when you are laying on the floor dead they still shoot you. 😂 (gta 4 is the best game i have rn)
I agree, gta 4 is a fantastic game with amazing detail. At least they didn't kill you right away at 1 star, they just aiming at you so they can take cover and trying to arrest you.

Mafia kinda reminds me of the cop system in The Godfather 1 and 2. But I’m pretty sure you can only bribe cops in godfather, you can’t “pay fines”.

@Nobody ok, first, the police in general act on a very agresive way, if you hit them they would arrest you, not shoot you to death, same as "ReproGuy" said, they arrest you only if you walk in front of them, they nearly never arrest you, they only want to shoot you even if it is not necesary, they arrest you if you even help them, they will never arrest a npc, in GTA 5 if you aim to them, they shoot you and in GTA 4 they take cover and give you a chance to surrender
