I remember going to a Hard Off in Anjo and Mikawa Anjo . I always thought it was a strange name for a store, the same with Book Off . Thanks once again, brings back memories.
I could see why they call the store hard off you’ll be hard off after you buy something there kind of expensive for secondhand goods. I get the musical instruments being pricey because if they’ve been taken care of there, they just gain value but a lot of those old electronics they’re obsolete
Are they ok with you filming? Or do you get permission first? Most of the Hard Off stores I’ve been in have signs saying no filming. I’m just very wary about it because of the overseas idiots doing stupid things in Japan. I’d love to show friends back in NZ what’s available in these stores.
I usually look if there is a no camera sign I would not film. I did not see one. If I go a car dealership I always ask they always say it is okay but don’t film anyone. I think if you are not carrying on like an idiot they don’t mind.
You are right, it wasn't that cheap in there. At least most of this stuff gets reused and not thrown away! As you said, who in their right mind would buy a second hand crash helmet? Also, the child car seats; you never know their history. It is illegal in The UK to sell second hand car seats. Again, like your own head, would you be happy putting your child in one of these?

This was an amazing secondhand store. Where do they get all of their stock? Its a long way away from a thrift store.
People take stuff to the store and they buy it. Big stuff like furniture they will pick it up.
