Japan has really gotten on board with beatbox. Art in general and music is very popular there and appreciated through our history and I can only imagine it’s the pride of the nation supporting their rising stars. I’m all for it! Amazing talent coming out of Japan too.

Besides my interest in beatbox, I'm also very interested in loop staion. Your explanation made it easy for me to understand. Very cool to hear your take on this. I always thought it'd be difficult to prepare for a live show on an entirely different audio system than you're used to working with. Any way for gbb to make software through a daw that would emulate the harshness of the stage sound or something to that effect? If they could do that they could give out the software to contestants ahead of time,than they wouldn't need a sound check at all. But I don't know much about such things and i doubt its simple. I agree that when so so prepared this round at home it sounded so much better. Thanks for the inside knowledge
Brez, since you are bringing up the sound issues at GBB 2021 a lot, have you and other performers or prominent voices in the community who where in the crowd at the event given a feedback to the organizers so that these issues can be dealt with in the future? Have you maybe received an answer? I'd be really interested in that. Especially because we get the clear audio after the fact. THX

I feel like if So-So cut the slower second drop to make more room to fully develop the last track in his set he probably would've gotten through to top 8

Sorry to break it to you Brez but So-So did not advance entirely due to lack of preparation rather than sound issues and all this other stuff. In his interview on SBX he said he did not prepare for GBB at all and only slapped something together at the last month. He said he had other obligations etc.... That to me took him from "we expect So-So to...." to "I can't believe he barely tried". His solo loops were not prepared at all in my opinion. Had he spent the year developing content, getting ready for GBB "instead of thinking about it 1 month before"... he would have brought his A-game... which is what he did in 2019 GBB.
