I know these Vinyl collection vids don't get as many views as your album reviews, but I genuinely enjoy seeing your collection. I'd love it if these were expanded to include CDS/Cassettes you might get.

Let’s Argue: Gaming soundtracks and movie soundtracks are underrated as hell. Some of these soundtracks are like concept albums telling a story you can see with your ears. A good soundtrack can tell an amazing story even if you haven’t seen the movie at all.
@@k-leb4671 depends; RDR2 has one of the best soundtracks overall of all time, it honestly rivals any instrumental album out there, but the soundtrack just doesn't get that much attention, not from the masses anyway, it does have a lot of views on youtube but considering how it's as good as actual albums out there, it still deserves WAYYYY more, some absolutely beautiful tracks on there, and if you played the game it's even better as you can actually think of the story through the soundtrack
I don’t know about you guys but every soundtrack I’ve ever bought on vinyl has been a mistake, I’ve probably bought about 20 and I’ve gotten rid of all of them.
DKC2 is easily one of the best game soundtracks of all time... mining melancholy, forest interlude, the flight of the zinger, obviously stickerbrush symphony... is just too epic, David Wise is a fking genius
The Donkey Kong Country 2 soundtrack honestly means so much to me. Not only is it a total nostalgia trip but the songs are insanely good and I have David Wise and the team at Rare and Nintendo to thank for this. I listen to the tracks regularly which I never thought would happen a few years ago but happy nonetheless it did.
Ohhhh dude dkc has some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard in a video game! Rare made epic tunes actually, perfect dark was insane too. Also, just a little tidbit, the lava world theme in Kirbys epic yarn has some of the most surprisingly epic lava world music. It's so good I had to mention it.
Purple is a frequent listen of mine, it definitely deserves a place in collections. There was an all purple pressing, wish i had it but i'm happy with my half black half purple variant.
@nthony, the Blackstar vinyl package is supposed to reveal a sky of stars, when you hold the back up against the sunlight and watch through the cut-out on the front side (without the vinyl in...)
Speaking of game soundtracks, when I listen to the soundtrack of the game Streets Of Rage 2, I was disappointed because the tracks do not sound exactly like from the console. And it had nothing to do with the instrumentation but rather than the way it sounded. To be more specific, the high hats and high frequencies of the music did not sound the same as the original console. The same thing happens when I play the game on an emulator and select an option that says “high-quality” and it restores the high hats and high frequencies of the music and sounds exactly like the console. I assume it has to deal with the sample rate. With this being said, when I listen to a game soundtrack, I want it to sound exactly like the console with all it’s grittiness and glory. Changing the sample rate and what not destroys the way the instrumentation is supposed to sound making the overall experience different to what I experienced when I was younger.
Think I'll go try to pick up Black Star today, what a record to have in the collection--packaging looks gorgeous also. A+ on the Donkey Kong County ost, I'm more of a FF man myself and I'd love to get some of those osts on vinyl.
watching the video just now, but I can't leave without mentioning the jazz-infused Persona Soundtracks (especially the newest Persona 5 Royal) - Shoji Meguro is one hell of a composer
This is a HUGE week for releases of all genres when it comes to important/big/great releases!! You have Dream Theater, Candlemass, Overkill, Diplo, Gunna, Offset, Lil Pump, Kehlani, Rhapsody of Fire! So much great music. I'm trying to barrel through it myself and still have so much to go!
So, you're correct that DKC2's vinyl is a bootleg done by Kawadeka. Not endorsed by Nintendo or Rare or David Wise. Still, a great record I'm glad to have in my VGM collection. Also, John Baker was the original TJ&E composer for the first two games so the sound kind of originated from his love of funk and jazz and all the fusion stuff in between. I got a chance to talk to him on my previous podcast, super nice guy! Totally a huge fan of music and such. Dude, there's a HUGE underground world of VGM you're missing out on and if you ever want a place to start to dive deep, hit me up.
God, the DKC2 soundtrack is amazing. Stickerbush Symphony and Forest Interlude are not only 2 of the best video game songs of all time, but 2 of the best pieces of ambient music ever (same with Aquatic Ambiance from the first game). The rest of the soundtrack is awesome as well.
