Maybe the most melodic bass line ever by the might Chris Squire! This song kicked ass in 1980 and it still kicks ass now...41 years later. Awesome cover...loved it!
Thank you very much! Hope to see you later today for the premiere of my latest video!
Haha 44 years ago now and i still remember buying this album and playing this for first time!
Awesome cover! You are amazing!
It's like you're possessed by Chris Squire's spirit.
... and Chris Squire also sang so beautifully (while playing these amazing bass lines)... incredible!
Drama was a great album that never got the respect that it deserved.
Miguel, you totally nailed it!
Thanks for covering this Miguel. This is the best song on "Drama" and you nailed every note!!!
My favorite bassline from Chris Squire ever! The reason I bought a flanger for my bass in the first place. I'm still tempted to buy an old cheap bass and get my electrician buddy to help me modify it with built in effects like Squire's MPC Electra
That would be great! I've seen some MPCs in good shape and there is someone who modifies them to look just like Chris'! Thanks for watching!
I’ve been playing bass for a decade or so now, and thanks largely to Squire I’ve always loved the bass+flanger combo to add a little funky flair
Chris Squire was so big part of Yes. Bass in other bands often buried in the mix. But Chris' riffs were often in the forefront
This is absolutely brilliant! I love the way you opened the video with the band photos and then the pictures of you. Excellent stuff as always.
Incredible. You nailed it. Great video editing too. RIP Chris - a genius.
Gracias Miguel sos un fenómeno total, Chris te escucha orgulloso y admirado desde donde esté!!. Abrazo.
Yes was the soundtrack to high school for me with 90125 and Big Generator (graduated in 1989) and then went back to earlier albums and this song on Drama. I then raised kids and lost touch. Now stuck at home with Corona virus I've been learning these songs to play along since the video shows your fingers more clearly. Really great tone and playing, I also like and learned your earlier versions of On the Silent Wings of Freedom. Stay healthy!
Thanks Jason, had missed your comment here. We'll be in touch with PFC6. All the best!
Always happy to see a song off Drama, my favorite Yes album, get a fantastic cover like this. You truly are the Yes Bass master on TH-cam my man. If I could request one song, I would love to see Into The Lens. Whatever videos you have planned for the future, I'll be watching intently as I always do. I love your channel. A beautiful tribute to one of the greatest players in music. And home to one of the greatest talents on TH-cam.
Hi Mason, thank you very much. I hope I can do Into The Lens for you sometime soon. Thanks again, all the best.
Best thing about drama is remembering who turned you on to it. Increases that persons status!
As a bass player who stills learning how to play this clean on his tempo, my respects man.
Wow Miguel... thank you! Glad to remember Chris' birthday also. I've been watching your videos for about three years. I found you while forming a Yes tribute band here in STL & learning the bass parts. The detail of your work is AMAZING. You are doing a really great thing here on TH-cam... keep it up!!
I've lost count of how many times I've watched this. Utterly brilliant playing Miguel!
I love this album. I love this song. Great cover!! Im glad there are musicians who love this, too. RIP, Chris Squire.
Fantastic. Your love for the song is so clear. Same as all of us. Mad respect.
What a talent ! thank you for continuing to keep these geniuses alive 💫
Best, most accurate cover of this song on TH-cam. All the rhythmic nuance is there. Finally someone truly dose it justice. Thank you.
Superb!!!! And so happy it's up. I'm now blocked from Fb live videos. Because last night playing my 4001cs to Roundabout on Fb live.
The joy you show lights up the world.
Thanks Miguel for this new video. You are realy one of the greatest YES Fans on the Internet!
your videos honer not only Chris, they honer always the whole band YES!! I like them so much (YES and your great bassline videos :)
I remember when you had this on audio only! Nice to see you playing it....BRAVO!
Happy B'day Fish!
That's exactly how it is played. We used to play this song back in the '80s and in the beginning, I thought not only the bass is tricky to play but how do I sing the harmony part. It was not that difficult in the end, just had to practice slowly to find where the words fit in.
Thank you very much! No doubt the harmony part was a considerable extra work!
You amaze me, sir😮🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hello Benjamin. Thanks for watching. I'm glad to know you enjoy the videos. All the best
I absolutely love Drama.
Miguel, I can't praise you enough! Your videos are so much like remixes of the originals with Chris himself mixed up where he belongs that I'm continually amazed at how skilled you are on bass and how deep your understanding is of who Chris was as a musician and artist!
Complete bass guitar mastery of a killer Yes song.
Including the ever important Bass Flanger.. Nice touch.
O baixista, mais completo do universo infinito. Até, que me provem o contrario❤
Chris Squire was a god!!
Wow, parabens. Nem é preciso perguntar qual seria a Banda preferida deste senhor. Claro que o cover é perfeito, mas hands down pro Sr Chris. Ele é de outro mundo e tocou o baixo até aos últimos dias da sua vida, incrível...
That's incredible. 'On the silent wings of freedom' & 'Arrival UFO' soon. Apologies found it!
Bloody brilliant
miguelbass What's up this is Jack n the Big Easy u missed Mardi Gras......I played Ludwig's one thing they couldn't take away from JOCKO.Take care had a rough holidays
Very nicely done indeed.
@@miguelbass I was fortunate enough to take in the 'yeggles' as i called them at the deeside leisure centre, Chester. Uk believe it or not it was a large ice rink boarded over, no seats. i.e the Drama tour. Lots of yes fans quite sniffy about them. I myself thought they were wonderful and a refreshing change. And so, when this came up on my menu - it brought back oh so many wonderful memories of watching them perform 'Drama' in its entirety and other classics. As for Chris Squire. he didnt just do bass guitar. he did 'seismic events' 😉 so god bless you for this wonderful rendition so well done, you can hear and see everything......
RIP Chris
Great cover, Tempus Fugit is one of my favourite songs from Drama (next to Into The Lens). Would you consider doing a cover for Sound Chaser? I heard it's actually a bit hard, so I'd love to see you do it.
This is a lost classic for me! Recently discovered,...glad to see all that joy! Yes! Forgot the title. Bouree,..Tull. is another great bass song!
Well done Miguel, another fantastic replication of a Chris Squire bass line played with passion, precision and love, bravo 👏
Miguel, eres un fenómeno mundial!
É um elogio muito generoso Ana, que bom que gostas de ver os meus videos! Obrigado :))
Now we can understand the genius of Chris Squire, this piece is super complex but Chris still sang it with Trevor Horn.
Always a pleasure to hear your perfect covers! After a few months of guitar I think i'm going back to bass. THANKS FOR SHARING!
- and once again, a superb presentation ! Enjoyed every note. Thank you !
Nailed that tone Miguel. That tribute Jazz is cool too... Loved that Chris played so many notes on this tune!
Well done. Note the easiest of bass parts to learn! I've always loved Chris' playing, and this song showcased him at his busiest and best. Awesome cover; great work!
Amazing that you were able to capture the sound of customized MPC Electra bass guitar - one of my favourite in Chris' collection.
Thank you very much! That was out of my old Boss pedalboard which has a very good flanger :)
What a picking technique...! Astonished. From the second listening, I am now doing play/pause/play/pause... :) ahahah
Bravo! Super)

As always, awesome! Miguel, you are absolutely amazing. Enjoy watching you play so much. And thanks for taking time to contact me. I really enjoy our conversations. All the best to you sir! Rock on!
This is such a bad ass bass line and you kill it.
Hello Geno. Thank you very much! Hope to see you later today for the premiere of my latest video!
Drama is so underrated, definetely in my top 5
Absolutely!! Stands along side with Fragile and Closer to the edge!!
Few songs but great songs with stellar work in them. I agree!
I agree. It’s one of my favorite Yes albums. Just the opener alone (Machine Messiah) is incredible and one of their best and then the album just keeps going with incredible songs.
My Top 5
