  • Polygon is an Indonesian Bicycle brand with its headquarters in Europe now. They have steadily grown to become a Performance Bicycle brand with a wide range of Bicycles for all purposes and are considered good value for money. We got the opportunity to test ride the 2021 edition of Polygon Zeta 2 and here is what we thought.

Nice review. Just to check there’s one part I see the video the fork is inside out right?

I have had my Polygon Zeta since 2021 - I live in Indonesia and have owned half a dozen Polygon models previously, so I am quite familiar with the brand.
Your review was very positive, and I agree about the overall quality. That said, let me point out some of the less desirable aspects of the Zeta. First, the thin, cheap plastic chainguard looks like something from a kid's toy. Soon cracked and came loose from the bike. Of even more concern was the sidestand, which fell off and was lost when friend was riding the bike - so we have no idea where it might be. Designing a proper sidestand that won't just come loose is not rocket science, Polygon - come on now.
BUT, the number one complaint I have is related to the inclines facing me in hilly west Java. You test-rode the Zeta on a flat surface; everything around me here is either uphill or downill, and the lowest gear on the 10-speed is simply not low enough to mount a steep paved road. Just can't do it, even without carrying a load on the rear.
So what happens? Two years afte premiering the bike (2020) they have introduced a two-speed front detailer, which solves the above-mentioned problem - but will entail another US$150 if I want to modify my bike. Incidentally, we have had rather frequent experiences of the chain slipping off the front chain ring, for no reason. I expect the newer model will solve the steep uphill limitation I referred to above.
I'd buy one again but would pay close attention to frequent bolt tightening. Also having a built-in rear luggage rack would be nice, Polygon.

Whats the specific purpose of this bike? It isn't a foldable so not much easy to carry around.
