- Welcome to beating pokemon black with only the rarest of the rarest shiny pokemon. Last time we took on Pokemon Moon Emerald with only shinies and this time we went ahead and chose a main line game to do it in. The fifth generation of pokemon is one with a lot of new faces but also full of great looking shiny pokemon.

never knew this until recently but emboar is the only fire starter that can learn a water move in scald by tm

My first shiny was a Ho-Oh in Heart Gold, my little pea brain at the time has 0 concept of what a shiny pokemon was (no clue that was a thing) even after catching the Red Gyarados. I thought the little shiny splash affect was because it was a Ho-Oh. After battling it and capturing it I was looking in my PC and noticed a little red star in its bio that no other pokemon had expect, you guessed it, my Shiny Gyarados. That Ho-Oh is sitting in my bank unmoved since the release of Sun and Moon.

My first shiny was a shiny Abra in Pokemon Emerald, I was so confused since I saw the shiny effect but it didn't look any different from non shiny Abra, it was just a slightly brighter version, I was kind of sad because I thought that I had gotten the worst shiny in the game, but then I evolved it into Alakazam and it looked kind of good
Back in 2004 my brother and I where running through emerald when I first found a blue electrike. We both didn't know what it meant and I was too afraid to let it evolve, thinking I would lose the rare critter 😂

First shiny was weedle in the sevii islands in fire red. Not counting the obvious red gyrados we recieved in g/s/c. I loved that thing, so I always hunted one during the era of mega evolutions ❤️
The first shiny I ever had was in Sapphire, I was surfing to level my mons before the flying gym and found a shiny Wingull, at the time I had no idea what shiny pokemon were, but I caught it anyways because it had green on it and younger me thought my mum would like it, since green was her favorite color

But, I was able to find another after I started playing through Sword, and to this day, that shiny wingull is still on my team, I'm not evolving it, since the one I had in Sapphire held an everstone, and she helped me through many battles, despite being the only non-evolved mon on my team

White and black will always be my favorite it was my first pokemon game and spent many car rides, playing with friends, and late nights on that game. And honestly from the other games ive played in the series emerald and platinum, then white and black 2 are the others ones ive enjoyed so far. I havent played any of the switch games though gotta do that soon.
My first shiny was a Swablu from Pokémon emerald. I remembered it being a rainy day and catching that golden bird in the dark. I never seen anything shine so beautifully like that.
My first shiny Pokémon was a shiny Swablu on that one foggy route in Platinum. I didn’t know what a shiny was at the time, but I caught it because it looked special.
My first shiny was an Audino. I also didn’t know what shiny’s were at the time, so I used it because I thought it was a legendary. I look back and laugh because I found it after the 7th gym. So I learned the hard way that it was trash.

My first shiny story is a bit boring but is exciting to me none the less, I was doing a play-through of alpha sapphire while on a road trip with my family, I was walking in some tall grass right outside a town when i encountered a full odds, random encounter, shiny skitty, I managed to catch it and named it Panda after my dead cat

my very first shiny was a sentret in Heartgold. I kid you not, i encountered that shiny sentret on my 4-5th encounter of the game. I was playing with a friend at the time (he was playing Soulsilver next to me) and we were both going crazy xD
Fun Fact: Also within that game, one of my pokemons got a pokerus like 2h into the game. My friend and i had no idea what a pokerus was back then, so i just kept playing normally until all my party pokemon recovered from the pokerus. So unfortunately, i couldn't spread the pokerus to all the pokemons i would later use. Still, my Typhlosion ended up being pretty OP in the end

In Pokemon X, I watched a tutorial on how to fish for shinies so I did just that in Shalour City with the Old Rod and I fished up a shiny Luvdisc. That inspired me to hunt for shinies (via fishing and Masuda Method). My luck was on a streak until Sun and Moon (where my luck ran out).
I was playing pokemon X, on the route with all the giant stones. I was trying to find a Sigilyph with a Special attack raising nature. I spent 20 minutes, when a shiny one appeared. I caught it and it also had the nature i wanted so i was so happy 😁

i did play black 2 on a secondhand ds lite i bought when i was maybe 12, but my first shiny was in sword! decided to learn about the masuda method and shiny odds etc, and before finishing the dex i needed to breed a gigantamax flapple i got so i could get the entry for applin. first egg i hatched from flapple+chinese ditto was shiny, and thus my first shiny pokemon. love that little dude.
First shiny in pokemon y, a beautiful sliggoo, second shiny in pokemon y, a beautiful sliggoo. In the same route of the first one just few days later.

During my play through of Black 2 I was wonder trading and managed to get a level 1 shiny scraggy. Instantly became a permanent part of my team and was the first Pokémon I ever got to 100. Since then scraggy and scrafty have been favorites of mine.

My first shiny was a Haunter in Pokémon Y. I was trying to get all the Vivillion forms and someone on the gts was trading a scatterbug for a beartic so I was looking for one in the ice cave when I found the shiny haunter. I caught her and named her Sickle and now she’s in Pokémon Shield with me 🥰

First ever shiny was Floatzel. I still love him till this day. I got him in Pokémon Diamond and I remember how excited I was. I didn’t know people farmed for shines so me getting one was unheard of as most my friends didn’t have shines. I had one friend who had a shiny bell sprout from one of the older games. and safe too say mine was way cooler.

My first shiny was when I was trying to get a chain for a pidgey in pokemon y using pokeradar and I went into a non shiny patch and got a full odds shiny caterpie.
My first shiny was a bellsprout in soul silver, but I ended up failing it cause my game crashed. Then my next shiny, you guessed it, bellsprout again in Pokémon gold. I caught this one lol

My first shiny was a shiny mareep in Pokémon soulsilver and it was just by chance. I was just trying to find a mareep and found a shiny version which was amazing.
My first shiny was a shiny combee in pokemon X and it actually was female and even though i was like 9 years old i still noticed it was a diffrent color so i caught it right away. To this day Vespiquen remains one of my favourite Pokemon.
Fun fact, my first shiny was a Zekrom from pokemon shield. I had just gotten the DLC from a friend and he took me into the max raid for the legendaries for the first time, and it was a Zekrom. I didn't know you could only catch the legendaries once so since it was my first, I picked Zekrom and moved on with my day. I only found out it was shiny the next day when I first used it in battle and it started glowing green. I have never shiny hunted before so I just have a shiny Zekrom in my team now because it makes me happy.

Just got my first ever shiny. I’ve played diamond, pearl, platinum, heartgold, soulsilver, black and white, and black and white 2 since i was maybe 12. last night i walked onto route 10 after defeating iris in pokemon white and a shiny throh popped up. wasnt expecting it at all and it’s the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me in any game.
My first shiny was technically Gen 2 Rage Lake Gyarados, but first random encounter was starting pokemon Emerald and on my way north before you're allowed to catch anything I ran into a shiny Poochyena.
My first shiny was a voltorb which i did encounter in the Team Rocket hideout, pokemon Silver. I remember putting it on the box, because it was a trash pokemon, but never understood why it was blue. Thought it was a mistake or something on the game’s part but had to capture it. Few years later I learned what it meant, but then I had a different savefile already. I’ve always found this a pretty cool feature :)

Well, the Gyarados at the Lake of Rage was technically my first shiny every when I was playing Heartgold.
The first one I truly encounter a shiny was when I was grinding on Victory Road in Heartgold, I ended up encountering a shiny female Donphan. Funny thing was not long after I caught a shiny male Donphan.
I also found my first shiny in HeartGold but I found a shiny male sandshrew and similar to you I found a opposite gender shiny sandshrew
My first shiny was in Soul Silver. Those 2 games must of had a high appearance rate.

I got a random full odds Clawitzer in Pokémon X, after that, decided to try shiny hunting every once in a while and have a quite a few shinies that are full odds and a few shiny charm shinies in Shield.

There’s a few ways I can take the “first shiny” first one hatched was a charmander, first one used was a beedrill given to me, and the first one I caught was Joltik
My first shiny in general was actually my first Pokémon which was charmander and I didn’t realize until a month later how rare he was because there are no other starter Pokémon in the game and i never reset

from what i can remember, my first ever true shiny was a shiny surf pikachu from usum. i never truly shiny hunted in the past gens, but when i realized i could get a damn shiny surf alolan raichu (which imo has the coolest shiny), i HAD to get it. and so i did.
for context, getting a surf pikachu in usum is quite tedious, especially if you wanna shiny hunt for it. the only way to get this pikachu was by completing all manatee surf missions and beating this dude's high scores. after that, youll get an invite to meet that person, and, after sitting through a bunch of dialogue, he gifts it to you. this meant that i had to soft reset every single time and sit through that dialogue over and over until i got the shiny. but it absolutely paid off. i ended up getting a female surf pikachu with a PERFECT jolly nature. not only did I get the gender i want (i wanted the lil heart tail), i also got the BEST possible nature for it. so, my first ever shiny hunt ended up becoming my most rare shiny hunt.
p.s., i'd end up naming her after my girlfriend❤
My 1st ever shiny was a pink mareep, caught it in my 1st ever pokemon game i've ever owned myself (black 2). Ramdomly walked around the grass to level up my pokemon and it actually was my 1st ever pokemon with pokerus (didnt know what it was, kinda concerned me until i found out what it meant).
My first shiny story was actually pretty sick. I always loved heartgold and thats all I would play. At one point I figured out you could get kyogre, groudon amd rayquaza in it but at the time I only had a dsi and only heartgold. After a few years I got to know this guy at school who was a huge fan of old nintendo consoles and funny enough he had 1 single pokemon game and that was soul silver so he gave it and a second ds to me so I could trade myself the groudon to get rayquaza. Once I traded it over I was like "well if I‘m gonna get rayquaza I might aswell put the effort in to get it shiny cause its literally my favourite shiny". So like every person I was preparing for like hours of just sitting there soft resetting a couple thousand times but no.. after like 4 softresets I actually got it which was sooo lucky

My first ever shiny was a sentret in heart gold in the safari zone. I was really nervous it was going to flee, but I managed to catch it. Also, on my first playthrough of white I found a shiny klink and joltik back to back and later on a shiny audino. I really think that cartridge was blessed lol

my first shiny was of course the red gyros, but my first random encounter was a shiny lickitung in pokemon xy. I found it while grinding for the elite four at the end of the victory road, it quite literally took me a while to realize it was shiny

It's actually pretty common to ditch a mon for a badgequest.
I’m amazed that it took until Ghetsis for such reckless play to catch up with you in any way… faded a 90% Take Down on badge 1, got crucial Focus Blast and Stone Edge misses, Mienshao could’ve killed araneo with Fake Out… a million things could have (arguably should have) gone wrong way before that.
That said, this is still an impressive accomplishment with a great final team. Kudos!
My first shiny was an abra caught before the first gym in gen 4. earlier this year and didn't realise it was shiny until gym 5 😅 was super lucky to catch it and glad I didn't realise when I encountered it

It also really annoyed me because I was grinding against wild basculin before it and one of them final gambited on me as a shiny but to this day I still have a soft spot for victreebell
I remember when I was younger and I tried that poison gym and probably cried myself to sleep due to the Whirlipede hitting crits on me like it was the only thing it could do.

My first shiny I ever caught was actually the first pokemon I ever caught. Shiny Shinx. I had no idea what Pokemon was, or what shiniest were, but I thought it looked cool so I caught it. I miss you a lot, Scruffy. My second and only other shiny was in February. I was playing HeartGold on my DS Lite while I was recovering from having my wisdom teeth pulled, and without realizing until I was heading back from Mr. Pokemons house, the guy who gives you the Togepi egg, that my Cyndaquil was a shiny. It was a weird experience.
My first shiny was in Pokemon Ultramoon's loop holes, but i don't remember what pokemon was, i believe it was Audino, and i believe i also got some shiny legendaries too, OH, and somebody gave a shiny gengar

My first shiny I caught myself was a Scraggy in sword and shield. I’ve never properly finished a Pokémon game before SwSh but Scraggy being my favourite Pokémon to exist, I immediately hunted for it’s shiny. I got her and she’s wonderful !

My first shiny was Wurmple back in Sapphire, I had no concept of shiny pokemon back then so I thought it was a visual glitch, until I showed my friend it, then he said that it was a shiny.
My Dustox is still on my Sapphire save and is staying there for now

My first shiny was a full odds Sunkern in Black 2 outside Virbank City. Second one was a full odds Metang in the Giant Chasm in White 2. I still have them both in my Switch gen games.
I remember in Black 2 I ran into a shiny Shinx near the starting area. Good thing I had pokeballs and luckily caught it. Never expected it.

I decided to play Black 2 after a very long time, my brother owned it but let me reset and play it since he never finished. I was at the farm area (don’t remember it’s name) and I was searching for a Riolu, I found one and was heading to the exit. Before all this happened I told my brother I wouldn’t hunt for shinies since I didn’t know how to transfer them to a newer game.
Lo and behold
I found a shiny Mareep. (And I almost defeated it on accident by a critical from my Riolu lol)

my first shiny as a kid was a cyndaquil! my internet didn't work with gen 4 online so i would sneak into my neighbor's yard to use their wifi, and eventually i got my hands on a japanese ditto to use for masuda method! in just 97 eggs i got shiny cyndaquil!

My first ever shiny was a Shinx in Pokémon Platinum.
At the time I had a friend who had loads of hacked shinies and as a person who hadn’t heard of the concept of shiny Pokémon at the time, I was convinced you couldn’t get them without hacking the game. So you can imagine my surprise when I was running around in Platinum one day for the lolz and happened to see a golden shinx in the grass. I caught him and for some reason my sister convinced me to trade him away to her.
Many years later, I did get him back in Pokémon X. He’s a Luxray now and I’m never giving him up now
My first shiny pokemon was a shiny torchic on my first ever shiny run which, you inspired me to do, so i did a shiny oras run and got a shiny torchic.
I played Pokémon for about 7 or 8 years when i was younger. Never ever saw a single shiny. One day i saw an episode of the Anime where Jessie of Team Rocket battles with a Yanmega. I thought it was a really awesome bug Pokémon so i went to the Safari Zone (this was in Pokémon Platinum) to catch a Yanma. The very first encounter was a baby pink Wooper.
My first shiny was a sableye in pokemon emerald! I was probably 7 and was in victory road when I realized that I had encountered a weird orange sableye. I had no idea what shinies were but miraculously, I managed to have enough foresight to catch it and to this day, I have it! It's so special to me
My first shiny(which wasn’t guaranteed) was a shiny sableye which i caught in the cave below the place with the emotion mini game thingy. I caught it while it was over leveled which was just -mwahh-.

first shiny ever was a shiny Weedle i caught back in December of 2019. i got SoulSilver after playing my friend's coz i loved it so much, and as i was training on Route 30 during lunch, it appeared and i lost my mind! caught her and named her Honey, and i still have her to this day
my first shiny pokemon was from omega ruby whenever i got the beldum egg and never knew it was shiny until showing my friends later that day.
When you name the scraggy Jeans I leggit excited because in my first pokwmon white playthrough I also name my scraggy Jeans and he was one if not the pokemon that I loved the most of my entire team.

When my brother and I first started playing (HGSS on DS), the first shinies we ever saw were bellsprout and Drowzee, which are both white-ish, so we thought that they were actually albino Pokémon. But the first shiny I ever caught was a shiny Ho-oh which was the third Ho-oh I caught while trying to get a full team of 6 ho-ohs. I had done a bunch of random movements below the ladder that leads to the top of the tower before heading up. And since then, I was dead-set on recreating those movements thinking it would give me another shiny Ho-oh
