I coach high school football. We weight train just about year round. So we’re talking about kids 14-15 years old lifting weights. Our running back had a 505lb squat, 425 bench, and a 295 power cling. The kid is 17.

If you are truly a coach, then you obviously haven’t realized that such intense weight training on kids, the ages that you stated is extremely negligent, and will harm them in the future!
15 or 16 or 17 years old students haven’t built the proper ligament and tendon strength to be able to intensely weight train, and is unadvised!!
You would literally be amazed how much plyometric body weight training will not only build their cardio while making them extremely strong while also improving their cardiovascular fitness and on top of that they’ll be faster!!
What’s the difference between a kid being able to squat 500 pounds and bench 400 over a kid who had the fitness capability of two or 300 push-ups in a row and two or 300 yoga squats?
      What’s more impressive?

I left many a game in high school with a pounding headache from likely undiagnosed concussions after hitting guys as hard as I could head first. Even if you stop playing while you're still barely an adult, this sport can take a huge toll on you - herniated discs, back and neck injuries that orthopedics can pick out a mile away. To be honest though, I probably wouldn't give up a second of my time playing.

I spent 4 years playing in high school. I got knocked out twice. Your job was to win and inflict pain. I was the smallest offensive lineman. I was 170 and laying out 200 pounders. 3 years varsity. I'm glad I did it, I was pressured to play. There are big hits at all levels of football as evident in the video. So of those older hits were legal at the times but as player safety and awareness has increased some of those hits at the college level would result in ejections and and the pros unnecessary roughness or unsportsmanlike conduct that could lead to an ejection. I count myself lucky I played 11 years and never was diagnosed with a concussion but that doesn’t mean I never sustained any I can think of two times where it definitely lined up to that but through the 90s and early to mid 2000s you kept quiet and it was coached there’s a difference between being hurt and injured and you would try and tough out being hurt where as injured was a no go.

I grew up with, loved, and played, both American and association football. I have become somewhat disenchanted with the American game, although I do watch it occasionally.
The American game is gladiatorial blood sport. Players sacrifice their health and shorten their life spans for the entertainment of millions.
They have incredibly brief careers, on average.
While some make huge piles of money, most earn near the league minimum.
They have the weakest union in American professional sport.
Players receive little, if any guidance, with respect to financial advice. As a result, many are destitute within a short span of time, once their careers are finished. Unscrupulous agents, tax difficulties, and so-called friends and family with empty pockets and extended hands... all contribute to the creation of a small margin of error. A bling bling lifestyle and one or two bad decisions (opening a risky, capital intensive business like a night club or recording studio, for example) can cripple a newly minted millionaire and make a pauper of him.
Basically, it feels like a trade in human misery.
But with all that said, getting the opportunity to bring the lumber and clean a fool out.... it's a pretty satisfying thing.

However, the facemask that took the quarterback out looking like he was clotheslined, is a big no no.

But the 1 he hangs his hat on to this day came in the championship game against the Wilson Warriors when he made the entire stadium go silent at the tender age of 10 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's a penalty in college and NFL to hit helmet to helmet because it could cause dangerous injury to both players. That's when the referees throw the yellow flag and stop the play. If a team wants to challenge, the coach throws a red flag. The coach is allowed three flags per game. The officials review the play by watching the replay.

    5:55 - RIP Sean Taylor
Dude thought he was safe because this was during the NfL Pro Bowl (the NfL's all star game), where you don't expect anyone to go all out like that. Sean Taylor (the defensive player) was a different breed. If you haven't seen it, check out one of the documentaries on his life and tragic death. Gone way too soon.

This was almost on the level of the 1970 MLB All Star game where Pete Rose BARRELED through Ray Fosse at home plate to score. In a damn all star game. Lol
Ray Fosse was never the same after that 1970 all star game.

when you see people get hit without the ball they are being prevented from pursuing the opposing team member with the ball it's called blocking. Also in the video you saw the last player get tackled as he was leaping in the air, this always a risk for the receiver and if possible the quarterback should avoid profiling his teammate it of course leaves the receiver vulnerable.

Keep in mind that these are huge men that are running into each other at full speed. Most of the time, when the players are hit, they just get back up and continue playing. When I hear people saying that they think that rugby has harder hits than the NFL, I just laugh, because people who say that have never watched this video. Those that do say that, but then watched this video, totally changed their minds about rugby having harder hits than the NFL. Researchers have said that, hitting this hard is the same as being in a car crash, as the impacts are equivalent.

But I'm telling you, you NEED to look at the BEST HARDEST hits, which happen on punt and kick returns (trust me, I grew up playing football - these will blow your mind). Turn the volume up because they sound so good. At 0:38 in the video #17 gave up the ghost, I think. At 4:38, you are not allowed to tackle someone by ripping his head off. These are mostly just college boys but you see how bad it is. Tell us what you think! th-cam.com/video/gI5AAYScr4U/w-d-xo.html. Remember, if you are on the field, you are a target whether you have the ball or not.
