Thanks for the honest feedback, and taking one for the team with all those support request adventures. I almost went that route, but ended up going with a new/old stock Peplink 4G cat6 router (MAX BR1 Mini / HW3, to save lots of money on the purchase). I stream content to 2 TVs and have half a dozen gadgets connected for not bandwidth intensive use, email, browsing, and such. So really didn't need to spend the bucks for 5G and/or more WAN connections. As a fellow person who voids warranties, I was BLOWN AWAY at how good the Peplink router functions, as well as how robust the admin interface is. I would liken it to the difference between your experience with home networking stuff (Netgear, Linksys, and the like) to commercial grade products like Cisco. It's that good.
Nothing like real world reviews. You do a great job at it. Also props for using a good mic. Too many reviewers, regardless of the subject, have crappy mics and all you hear is the wind.

Wow thanks for the helpful video! Personally I use HomeFi and its worked great for me! I use their portable hotspot device which connects me to the nearest strongest signal and I've had no issues using it on the road.
Have to say, it was fun seeing you talking from the different places during your jaunt from Oklahoma to Washington. What a beautiful view behind you at the TT. Interesting about your comments with Starlink. I have not heard anyone else say that. I just plug my gen 2 dish in, it does its thing and we have internet. Of course I have seen that the 3rd Gen dishy does not move. Congrats on bringing in the YT cash!! Safe Travels Mullens Family!!!
I love your content and your RV adventures! I noticed you’re using ConnecTen Internet. It seems like a great service, especially for RV users.
Have you thought about getting a cell booster for your RV as well? A cell booster can amplify the existing cell signal, which can be really helpful for your phones, especially if you already have a cell plan. This way, you can use your phones for internet access.
If you need dedicated internet, you could get a normal hotspot. With the cell booster, the hotspot should work even better, and this setup might save you some money in the long run.

Hello. Just found you. My Tmobile was working great until about a month ago. Seems they cut me off. Their tech support worked on it for a week, sent me a new router but it was a no go. So I presume TM is starting to cut us RVers off. Now on the hunt for new internet that won't break the bank on start up & monthly. Safe Travels.
SO, you were using it away from your main address and called support, and they made an effort to help you, including sending you a new router? Interesting. I suspect the big company like TMobile is like the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

I was under the impression that it would automatically connect to the best service. The last 2 times that I was out with it I didn’t get any internet. I know at both places there was service for Verizon(Our phones are Verizon) and service for TMobile(I still have the TMOBILE home service). When I am here at home the Connecten is working off ATT just fine. I called and talked with Tyler at Connecten yesterday and he told me that it doesn’t work that way. I was told I would need to call or chat with them to get the carrier changed for the area that I am in. That is all good if I have cell service to call. Lol I am not sure this is going to work for us and I will give a try for a little longer. Thanks for your video! Happy camping and safe travels!
Good monthly summary. Very detailed. Have you considered tying all of your WiFi into a single network with something like a peplink such as the b1 router? Then connecting all of your different actual providers (Starlink, connection, T-Mobile hime, etc) to the multiple wan connection of the b1 router? Then you don’t have to spend the time resetting up every single device each time you switch. You just change setting in the b1 router and everybody routes through it. You can even tether some phones via usb to get connection hotspots for limited use (such as you described to contact connection support)

I know when signing up they had mentioned "in the works" an app that will allow changes to the network, but much like you I dont mind the call and work around but yes I figured it could be a problem as I experienced some dead areas with verizon when traveling in some rural parts of Georgia last month.
For the most part the router always defaults to verizon for us and yes I wished it would at least tell you the best signal carrier at the very least. Hope this app they had mentioned is nearing some future release date.

Oh, another thing to consider is having and external Omni cellular antenna mounted to your 5th wheel and the connects brought inaide to your router.
We heading for retirement and are looking for our options. Thanks covering this so well. It sounds like a very good option. Just need to realize there some one time fees, but you are set after.
Great review. That was a concern I had with Connecten.
I didn’t switch because my RV already had an antenna and router.
I just had to add a Verizon data plan SIM card.
Thanks for the information on ConnecTen. I am as confused as you are that it won't auto locate the best signal. Bob & Karri {Life Redesigned) who introduced me to your channel, are sponsored by ConnecTen and indicate in their videos that it does auto connect to the best signal. Have you discussed your experience with them? I do see ConnecTen has different plans. Is that part of the issue? It looks like you guys are having a blast traveling the country! Stay safe.

You state you got new phones, may I ask what brand and did you go thru Tmobile for purchase?
I wonder if Connect 10 works like a Cradleoint, essentially, each time you switch SIMs, the device has to reboot the modem (not the entire router) because each carrier has a different software that has to run for each carrier. Using a Cradleoint, you have full control, you can swap the carrier yourself by just logging into via Ethernet cable or WIFI. They will actually fail over to another SIM if the primary is not working at all. They also have models where you have 2 modems and can have 2 SIMs active simultaneously. You can then get an inexpensive router from TP link that will let you load balance and use SIMs from 2 carriers. I haven't looked at the latest Cradleoints, they may even have SDWan or load balancing built in by now. We have deployed hundreds of them at the corp I'm with. E3000 and E300 are the one's we are using.

Honestly, the only reason I would have considered Connecten is because of the multiple networks. If the router can't auto switch, I'm not interested.
AT&T is probably the most robust signal for interstate travel.

Does the “autoswitch” problem perhaps have to do with reassigning the eSIM for each of the carriers? Maybe a dumb question, I’m not a tech guy.
So I’m looking into connecten vs Starlink which would you recommend? I lean more towards Starlink just cause the speed reviews I’ve seen, and for unlimited through connecten it’s 100-110(?) vs the 120 for starlink.
A couple of comments. I've been using Connecten about 6 months. I've found the "automatic" feature to be poor. I think it just looks at signal strength and that doesn't mean it is the best connection. I have chosen to have a system locked in. Now that you have the phone number you will find it much easier. A simple few minutes on the phone and I get a decent connection. I will also say that I also have a T Mobile home internet unit and the speeds from Connecten never equal those from the T Mobile unit. I'm not sure the Connecten unit aggregates channels.
Could the two different routers be interfering with each other while both on T mobile? Could it be an actual RF issue or could T mobile be running algorithms to disrupt the connect 10 to make home away look better when T-Mobile is detecting the same user running both devices?
I wouldn’t trust T mobile. Maybe run connect 10 while T mobile is off then run T mobile away with the connect 10 off?
I’ve observed other carriers like AT&T interfering with PureTalk. I was a customer of both.
Just wondering if T mobile may be playing stupid games.
T-Mobile is missing a huge opportunity by blocking the RV community mobile use of the home modem/router at the $50 rate. Guaranteed they would capture a huge number of new customers if they’d embrace the market segment rather than shunning it.
I just tried last week to get T-Mobile and was turned away because they are “cracking down “ on people traveling with it. I told the guy I can see 5 T-Mobile connections when looking for WiFi in the KOA right now. They are going to have a lot of angry customers. It’s a shame.
How about taking your t mobile SIM card out of the trackable device and and into an unlocked 3rd party 5 g cellular router widely available on Amazon. They look like the connection router, you buy the device and pop in sim card and away you go.
Just FYI phones almost always work the best unless you are connecting to external antennas. Phone almost always get the bleeding edge technology like WIFI and 5G.

why does it sound like you are getting 4g service and not 5g?
I had it for less then a week and knew right away they were no good. Sent it back and they kept my money even though I was told they would refund it. Looks a lot like nomad internet
I've since had a situation that has me scratching my head. I'll keep testing this out through this summer as people watching our videos is covering the cost for now.
Yeah, so Connect Ten is a CRAPPY service. Got it.
It sounds like they are making plans and changes to improve. I've currently suspended the service for $15 per month and can turn it back on when I'm in a pinch. So if they make terrific improvements, I will update everyone thru this channel. Thanks for watching.
