They should roll, they have the genes and the birds that started the loft did roll. Now I have a trap working I am starting to train them and hope to find out how well they roll very soon 🙂 Thanks for the kind words
Beautiful colors. It seems like rollers come in every color in the world now. They didn't used to. There must have been just enough crossing to get other color traits. But they still look like rollers. It makes it fun!
I was very, very lucky to have got to know an amazing man that is very experienced in pigeon genetics and who did the crossing of many genes from other pigeon breeds into Birmingham Roler pigeons. All these birds have the Roller genes, though probably could do with further refinement and continued crossing with high quality competition Roller pigeons and conditioning to perfect their rolling potential. When I found out that there was little work being done in this area I wanted to try, though I am new to all of this and would not have such beautiful birds and genes in rollers at all if it was not for the kindness, birds and continued guidance of my friend Robert!!!
@@PigeonPortal Good deal! You have every color and marking pattern you could want. Their heads look like true rollers; mission accomplished. It must have taken a lifetime. Just keep breeding in more pure Birmingham genes. I have seen people crossing to short face tumblers to get colors. They called them Birmingham rollers, but they looked like tumblers.
My friend that helped me start had pigeons most of his life, its his work that made these birds possible, I am very lucky to have birds with colour that are so well merged with rollers. Very interested to see how they fly, then the real work starts to try and get them to fly in a kit. Fingers crossed :-) (sorry for delay in replying)

I would like my children and grandchildren to feel like that. I feel sorry for the children who go to school with their heads bend down because they are criticized at home. Every living thing should feel like it has a place in the world.
Yeah, I agree!! There are too many kids that are unsure of themselves these days. As great as technology is, I think the more people use text to comunicate the less human interaction is normal to them. I see kids these days that are too scared to tell a shopkeeper that they gave them the wrong change. We can all learn form pigeons, hey?
