At one point they played at an Italian restaurant, using salt and pepper dispensers as pieces. And Colombo later had to reconstruct who won that game. This deserves to be in part 4.
I'm sure you'll get enough suggestions to do at least a part 4, so here's another one to consider: Check out the the episode "A Game of Chess" from season 2 of the Mission Impossible TV series that ran in the 1960s and 1970s. For this assignment, the Mission Impossible team utilizes a computer that plays unbeatable chess, and disregard the fact that the computers at that time still played like beginners. There's one game where the computer wins with a two rook sacrifice, but the most amusing chess moment comes when it mates a grandmaster on move 9, to which the GM rants about how "no human, not Lasker, not Nimzowitsch, could play like that." By my non-master eyes, the computer didn't do anything exceptional and won so fast because the GM played like a duffer, but you can decide.

I agree. It makes no sense to say "Qb4+" until Black plays Qb8+, but after Qb8+ it makes perfect sense. Probably another case where they hired a consultant and got a legitimate position, but messed it up in editing.
Danny is too sloppy critisizing the chess in these movies. The game between Kronsteen and Macadams in From Russia with Love deserves proper analysis not mentioning that Danny even thought one of the players was James Bond. The position is identical to Spassky Bronstein 1960, except for the two white centre pawns. Not recognizing the famous game between Bent Larsen and Tigran Petrosian in the Sherlock Holmes movie also shows that the filmmakers are better off without Danny as a chess consultant.
Hi Danny! you should've kept going with downey's sherlock holmes, the position on the board after that scene was based on an actual match between Larsen and Petrosian but this time the movie delves in what if the Queen Sacrifice was accepted (right after Queen takes pawn)! In one of these videos you covered the Chess from The Seventh Seal, they play a game along the course of the film as it plays out with the Black Plague as a backdrop. If I remember correctly they did not play one continuous game but rather set up different positions throughout the film. I will not give away how it goes, it is a wonderful film. I will suggest some that I didn't see in any of the videos: There is a TV series from Canada called "Endgame" that follows a GM named Arkady Balagan The TV Series Monk features a Chess centered episode called Mr. Monk and the Genius The TV Series Columbo has a Chess themed episode called The Most Dangerous Match There are two movies called "Knight Moves", one with Christopher Lambert follows a Chess Master involved in a murder mystery. The other with Gene Hackman features a Chess game amore off to the side. There is a Broadway (Originally British Stage) Musical called "Chess" that has been filmed and follows two Chess GMs. Inspired loosely by the 1972 match but the musical takes liberties and introduces a love triangle, the characters are based on Fischer and Karpov not Spassky, the theme is more about the Cold War with the match being an allegory for the Cold War, and it features the song One Night in Bangkok. There is a Disney movie "Queen of Katwe" that follows Phiona Mutesi as she uses a talent for chess to break out of the slums of Katwe, Uganda. There is a movie called "Knights of the South Bronx" that features a number of chess games that are harder to see at times. This is about the development of the Chess in Schools program in NYC. There is also "Life of a King" with Cuba Gooding Jr.. He plays Eugene Brown, who founds the Big Chair Chess club and meets a young talent in the process. I also don't think I saw anything from Pawn Sacrifice :)

In the fourth and last season, Kai, who is undead, plays chess against the Prince, who can grant him mortality, for the right to die and release his soul. The episode is a complete game. I wrote down the moves, and in style it reminds me of the games of the German masters of the 1870s-1880s. And I have to ask--you didn't know that the chess scene in "From Russia With Love" was the game Spassky-Bronstein, USSR champs 1960 (minus pawns at c5 and d4)? If so, pardon me for my surprise.

You are wrong to fail Geri's game. The Geri who faked a heart attack, it was his turn to move as white. He flipped the board without other Geri realising but it was still "his move" except now he is black. While the position is impossible, the order of events is correct
3:10 it is possible to check the white king with both a bishop and a queen on the same diagonal because recall that the black queen arrived at that square by capturing the white queen. So prior to the capture, the queen was pinned by the bishop.
