    Hey Kyle, thanks for the tutorial! I could never get the 540 kick down until I saw your tutorial and heard when you said your non-kicking leg must be bent and tucked! That was all I needed to do. Sometimes it's the little things haha. Thanks again Kyle.

    The most important thing on this move is that you kick as high as you can !
    Some people think that it'll be more easy when they kick low but that absolutly wrong !
    You only get momentum when you kick high !

    Thanks a lot. like all your tuts, this helped me fix my tornado and got me a better chance at a 540. I can't do it right now because I'm not flexible enough but daily stretching and practice and ill get it down before going back to school

    I have mastered the tornado kick, but I have been working on 540 for 6 months and I am sooooo close, but this really helped, and I can almost do it!

    i just landed my first 540 today im so happy . if your struggling just go higher with your non kicking leg and then try to kick at least as high as you are . good luck!!!!

    @stammesbruder The sideswipe is more of a kick because it's an inversion (like the raiz or aerial), not a flip.

    great tutorial kyle!!! i got the kick down and all but its just sometimes after doing the kick about 5 times i start feeling a bit of a sore tension on the inner thigh of my kicking leg, could it be because im not stretching enough? could you maybe tell me if thee is a way of avoiding that pain, like if i just need to stretch more or anything? anyway thanks! =)) tutorial helped a lot!

    I agree with you that it doesnt matter about form in tricking but even so, kicks look 100% smoother if you kick with the technical part of the foot, IMHO ^^

    Its been a while since I tried this but when I did my leg that I land with always tend to buckle as if its not strong enough. I weigh 233. Would that be the problem?

    i just recently started decently landing my 540. took me 3 months? i kept trying to do it like jujimufu with a straight takeoff leg like i might do a parafuso. i think a parafuso is much harder, i couldnt land mine that way. i only got it after i kept my outside leg bent to take off.

    Hi Kyle I've been starting tricking a few months ago, but before i knew what it was, i naturally started with a 540 but never got how to tornado kick. Part of the reason is from having an awkward transition from the roundhouse to the hook. Any tips??

    I need some pointers, I am pretty flexible, but when I, try to do the 540, my leg always goes forward and out unread of up. It feels like it's being pushed down. So help if you can please, much appreciated.

    Is there any sort of exercise or training to get my legs stronger for jumping? I am practicing the butterfly kick and I can do the tornado you showed because it is a move I've done in capoeira and taekwondo but I want to be able to do backflips and other jumps but I just don't seem to have the height or maybe it's technique. I can do a backflip on a trampoline or off the back bumper of a car but without that tramp or 1' boost I don't think I have the leg power/jump height.

      You could do squats and jumps. You can also practice the back handspring, Valdez or the macaco. Use a mat when you practice power moves on the ground so you don't break yourself.

    I can't believe how hard this move is. I'm a second Dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do and I've been training since I was three (14 now) but after months of trying to do this move I still can't do it. I'm able to do supposedly more complicated moves but this one still has me perplexed. I'm so used to doing tornado kicks for sparring, I just can't manage to keep my non-kicking foot tucked while in the air. I've tried doing feilongs and inside cresents and nothing seems to be working! Help me please!

    Hmm, I seem to be doing something wrong. Say i'm kicking with my right leg, My body wont allow my left leg to stay tucked and so I land after doing a 360 crescent kick. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks guys.

    It's nice that you call it a parafuso, from capoeira. Please call a Double leg a Envergado, It's named after the first person to ever do the movement

    Oi, I been seeing this a lot on youtube, people saying to point the foot,
    Is the the kicking foot, or the momentum foot that you'd point.
    ex: Epic's (his POV) left or right? o - o
