Okay professional opinion here. I think the Alex drawers take away from the sophistication of the desk. If you want to display stuff I would go for some floating shelves on each side.
I also was thinking maybe it would look good if the desk were on the wall to the right when you walk in and couch on The opposite wall and nothing on the window wall so more light comes through?
Symmetry can be great in decor, but you can also consider balance without symmetry. Two sides don’t always have to look identical but they can balance each other out and look cohesive. That’s what I’ve learned throughout decorating my own places:)

I am glad you caught the salt lamp leak. It happened to me before and I was confuse (if it were left to dry it would leave salt deposits stains). Please be careful with putting salt lamps and live plants on furniture because the can stain/damage wood or metal. Walmart, Home Depot, and Amazon sale cork rounds (there similar to a coaster) that you can put under the salt lamp and plants to protect your furniture. By the way your apartment me is coming along nicely. If the sofa bed you can move it to were the desk is and put the desk where the sofa was going to go. Have fun and take your time waiting to find the pieces you love!

You should get the Cloud Modular C Table from RH for your Living Spaces sectional! It could even fit on the side where you are wanting a lamp, it tucks under the sofa and takes up barely any space!

You can’t turn your salt lamp off or it’ll leak moisture. I keep mine on a decorative plate so it doesn’t ruin my furniture because it has stained and ate away at my entertainment unit 😬 protect that new furniture! X
Love the white furniture! we have a golden retriever as well and we have a dark grey sofa. i regret not getting a lighter colour because you can see the golden fur on our couch so bad. white is a good choice for golden fur!

I think instead of getting a second Alex drawer, you should do a taller plant, then it isn’t too symmetrical. Maybe some tall pampas grass or tree, or even a hanging ceiling planter! I think the Alex drawers would be almost too mirrored and would make the space look weird
