Museveni contributes 100 million shillings for Church construction in Tororo

President Yoweri Museveni has highly praised Tororo Catholic Church for supplementing Government’s efforts by initiating income-generating projects that will go a long way in helping wananchi to decisively fight poverty.
The President made the remarks while officiating at a fundraising ceremony for the construction of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Soni-Kainja Sub-county, West Budama North Constituency in Tororo District, Eastern Uganda.
Out of the over 144m/= raised in cash and pledges for the construction of a 2,000 seat-building of worship, President Museveni contributed 100m/= of which 30m/= was in cash. His portrait fetched 10 m/= and was taken by Bank of Uganda. About 700m/= is required.
