I love this figure!
It gives us that childhood fantasy and nostalgia of JURASSIC PARK!
The original red rex if you recall was more designed to be based on the dinosaur from Michael Crichton’s original novels, and that figure had a completely different roar too since it was released about 7 month prior to the film. I think Mattel officially went above and beyond if they gave this rex a brand new roar to mimic the first release. That is such a nice feature.
I think your right I never owned the toy sadly but I do own the book and yes it is way different from the movie the whole novel too

figure looks amazing, nice call back to the bull t-rex that figure was planned for the JP series 2 but it was released until the lost world toy line, so you can say that the gulping action has been a feature since the 1st movie, from a certain point of view
Wish the figure had a JP mark printed on its leg with a little number and a small rex logo
I'd love to see a '93-style large triceratops! That original triceratops was one of my very first Jurassic Park figures back when it was new, alongside the original water spitting dilophosaurus. A TLW-style stego with a soft-rubber whipping tail would be nice, too!

It's wonderful to see they're making a comeback for the old ones. This one will definitely make the most money. Of course I can't find it around here. My area takes the longest to get anything. It took them six months after dominion came out to get the giganotosaurus in.

*Good* review (👏)! I preordered mine the day the "Beyond the Gates" episode all about the '93 Classic line hit (along with ALL the other sets). Knowing you, I'm interested to see what modifications you do to this baby (👍😊).
This was the only one I didn't pre order, but after the review I'll definitely get her if she's in stock. Only reason I wont pre order is bc target takes forever and I already pre ordered the other stuff. (My HC packy still hasn't shipped!?)
Honestly, I think I'm looking forward more to your modifications to the 30th Anniversary Red Rex than to Mattel's official release. Granted it's an overall BIG improvement compared to a bunch of Mattel's previous versions over these past several years, but like you pointed out here, they made some strange design, sound and articulation choices with this figure too.

The one thing I wish the Jurassic Park/World T Rex figures would have THE T Rex roar. I guess Universal won't let them use it, none of the three companies used the main Rex roar

I love the look of this 93 classic red rex figure, I pre-ordered it off of target, but sadly knowing target it will probably be a long time till I get mine 😔.

I recently compared this Rex with the HC Rex and the heads are the same size. Both with the most realistic scale for the head.
I hope this design philosophy isn't just simply a one-off. I'd love to see Mattel experiment with the use of rubber dinosaurs, seeing as this one turned out near perfect

When you modify the second one I have some ideas
Change the scan code to a rubber park with Dino damage and if it is possible add a JP logo on it
Also I have been a subscriber for 3 years your videos have been awesome to watch first found about your channel when I was home schooled and just came across on a rubber rex video and then I started watching more and subscribed to you it has been fun
I think you should make a rubber replacement part that closes off the stomach and fills in the chest, you could apply it by sticking one piece in the hole and have another part go around the arms maybe??
It's funny you mentioned that. I tried 2 versions but don't look as good I want them to. So Monday I'm going to try a different method

Questions about your Hammond Collection T. Rex, though;
1) Did you replace the arms on it as well?
2) Where can I buy the remodeled head, feet and arms (if applicable) for it? I was so let down by the HC Rex so if mine doesn't sell on eBay, I want to customize it and actually make it look good.
He didn’t change the arms. He hasn’t released the Rex head replacement yet but the feet were available through Syrettech- he works with Marco to release these fixer parts. They should be available again at some point

Amazing rex but I think you should definitely make replacement feet to make the feet smaller

Mattel needs to stop using the same Rex model but it makes sense here to reuse it since this is Rexy/Roberta, so it makes sense to reuse this mold, but if they’re going to do things like the bull Rex or the thrasher, they need to change the model also, they need to stop throwing articulation on the mouth. The rubber was able to do that for you, by squeezing the neck, the bottom of the jaw would open, and this will not hurt the eating function. There’s just a couple of my Nick pics.

Ironically, this Red T-rex is way better than the Hammond Collection version
If they had used the Hammond Collection scupt as a baseline for the sculpt of this 30th Anniversary Red Rex, and just modify that to blend all the segments into 1 big rubbery body, that might actually have made it look a lot better, or more proportially accurate in comparison. But would that have allowed for the to conceal or maybe not even have that unnecessary articulation joint for the skull?
For me personally I am glad they did not use the HC sculpt. It is just not my cup of tea, though I like the HC head. I am still very impressed with the head of this one and the swallow feature while not making the head oversized like in the dominion version.
I’m now wondering why they didn’t make a Rex like this with the default colors?

Marco’s rubbersaurs aren’t designed for children. They’re designed to replicate toys but for adult collectors.
Decent figure. Not an ultimate version of the rex red to me due to its paint scheme being much lazier than Kenner's, although the sculpt is definitely better (though still a bit cartoony).
Plus a QC issue with the possibility of the tail tearing off.

They don’t use them in toys. I heard that they don’t have rights for those roars, that’s also the reason why in the movies they almost never used or changed drastically
I'm thinking about getting 2 of these. One to keep in the box and one to display loose. The noises sorta deter me. I recently got a 2009 toys r us exclusive bull t rex. There are like 11 noises on that thing and they're movie accurate and amazing.

if you're outside that range, then your fate is seemingly in the hands of the dreaded aftermarket
Its very sad for people like me i remember when the hammond collection came out i was looking for any trace if they were in belgium but i found nothing i dont understand why but i think these may come cause if there is multiple languages on the box it means that they also go to other countries ( i hope)

The "Real Feel Tyrannosaurus Rex" would be much better with especially the smaller and shorter feet (the feet 1/3 shorter than the head would be enough), and maybe jaws slightly longer.
You should listen to what he said at 9:35 stop being so picky about things that shouldn't be mind with from a toys on marketing. It's not the premium figure as you want it to be.
Something tells me mattel only made this to shut us up
