Hermis Tall was the greatest relay rider all time ,there will never be anyone else like him ,his desire focuse and his immensely love of his horse's won't be matched .His huge heart for his people matches his humbleness explains his loving up bringing ,that's what are tribes are all about family ,friends anyone we come in contact with love is SHARED to all. RIP Hermis Tall
What an awesome individual! All the good ones pass too soon. He had such a spiritual connection with his horses that many can never fathom. This is something that goes way back and anyone who speaks negatively of him, it's because they aren't even half the rider or person that Hermis Tall was.
I grew up with him riding horse from manderson south dakota all over our Reservation I miss him alot he was one of the greatest always my brother Herm Tall long live a legend wild oglala ❤
so very sorry to hear, i gather, that he died. he was a beautiful, strong and compelling athlete, and very clearly a beautiful and gentle soul. I just watched the relay video and was looking for more about him.
This young boy came aournd me when he was a youth, one night me an my son was looking at a sorral i was gonna break but this horse was a bucker,he rode up with his friend one night and asked were she at so we saddle it up about then it was dark so we watxhed him swing on an that horse bucked dor five mins mind you this was in the night time,he rode it tell it quite bucking then looks at me an says open the gate rides off into the night with his best friend gay and crew, next day he brings the horse back an says corn this horse will buck today an every day those are the things i expericened with hermis.the last time i saw him he came to my trailor to see my son hayden to give him his cowboy hat we talked we made soup outside an thats the last time i saw my kola for the last time
Yeah not sure they had racetracks back in the day....this is just plain animal abuse. Have these youngsters sprint themselves. Takes little skill to ride in a circle.
Greg Moore : these horses won't move an inch if they don't want to. The rider rides bareback and can buck the rider off anytime it wants to. I dare you to jump on a horse and ride like the wind. It's not easy and very dangerous. These men have cool minds, balls of steel and a kind horseloving heart.
@@imcavdb5465 .....I rode competively for 20 yrs. Nice try. It's animal abuse. Have these boys run themselves. That would require 10,000 times more skill, strength etc......
@@andyhigs6150 .......have you ever ridden competitively princess....? Have you worked races? ....get your fat asses off these animals and run the race yourselves....but you're too soft and lazy....

The brightest stars only burn for a short time. Rest easy young man.

Special dude one of a kind.
HERMIS, WAS AMAZING! HE KNEW HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH HORSES! MISS YA, BUDDY!
You make your ancestors proud
RIP! 🕯️
Why aren't there any Comanche or Apache riders?? Just curious cause I don't know.
Indian Relay is more of a Northern Plains sport. So you'll get mainly Northern tribes.
What Comanche riders?
How did Hermis Tall pass away?
His horse accidentally fell in him .
he hung himself.
How did he die?☹️
how my brother died really isnt no ones business
so sad, much too young. Wish I could have seen him race.
I hate what the U.S. government did to the Native Americans, it is such a disgrace to mankind!!

Thats how life is everywhere.. San Fran is turning into a slum and by 2033 LA will look like Brazil.

Greg Moore I missed the part where the animals were being abused. Maybe you being an expert horse man can point it out to me.
