Hi, I'm just getting back into sea fishing after a 25 year break(LOL), I was just wondering what your BS was on your main line? Also I'm enjoying your videos. Cheers Andy (Hampshire)
Thanks for the kind words, appreciate you watching! I use a 60lb braid straight through to my rig with no leader. I try to avoid using leaders wherever possible as I often find they catch weed and other gunk! You may know already from your previous fishing days but the general rule of thumb is 10lb of line for every oz of weight. Happy fishing and hope your journey back into sea fishing is full of tight lines! 👍
That’ll do you no problems at all, personal preference really. If fishing over rocky ground I would use a tapered also but nearly all the marks I fish are sandy so choose to keep with the heavy braid mainline.
Well done on making sure the fish go back ok, always nice to see an angler care for the fish.
Thanks, I always try to make a point of good fish handling, even when taking for the table!
Well in pal! Great video.
Cheers! 👍
Cracking session there ... I must fish chesil more ... It's a 4 hour drive for me tho
Thanks! Seems to be fishing extremely well at the moment so if you do, hopefully justifies your 8 hour round trip 😅
well done with the summer codling, there gone again now and to me cod start at 9lb weight but that's old school.
@@fredhall4239 cheers! Thats a fair comment, but the TH-cam algorithm seems to love the word cod over codling 😂🤷♂️
