Having not much knowledge about biology is also one part of him not being able to use chantless healing magic. Honestly, the magic in this series was so good. It was literally the only thing that kept me watching since half of every other moment felt like it was just Rudy being the perverted 30-something year old man or w/e.
Same, if you took out the unnecessary perversion you’d literally lose nothing and it would elevate the show. It’s not even funny it’s just irksome whenever it happens. It’s great to have character flaws but we already have that with his insecurities, having the obnoxious perversion adds nothing to the story that, besides the perversion is interesting

This is why this show is very controversial in the viewer's taste. Some thinks his ugly mindset make the show feel more real (cuz its played through his narrative and actions) and also encourages people who are similar to rudeus to not feel bad about them and accept change to grow their dirty mindset to have some boundaries and respect. While others diminishes all of them and thinks this whole ordeal is just pure gross and has no meaning. I feel like the author tackled a very unique way to show how much a character can change through meeting new people, experiencing life threatening or life nourishing moments, and accomplishing a major goal. And I agree, Rudeus is very much nasty, but something about him gaining many many good qualities and more to come in the future while keeping the nasty qualities feels artistic and meaningful.

That was not remotely close to what he will be capable of later on with some prep time. Even the attack against Badi Gadi in the school was more powerfull than this. (already seen in the anime) Later, the description "mushroom cloud" is used at some point in the novel. :)
The problem with going up against someone with incantationless magic is that the words for the magic is a dead giveaway with what the spell would be, you have absolutely no idea what magic is going to happen if no words have been spoken
it's honestly really impressive. it's made to look super minimal, but it shows such a control over his magic, to the point where he *can* make it look that minimal, effortless.
It would just become another generic isekai. You could tone down or change some things but who cares the worldbuilding character development and everything else is there. Also when he grows up it's toned down heavily
Is Frost Nova a Emperor spell or King Spell? From what I read, the big mana you put into a spell, the higher the level of magic you'll produce. So Rudy almost have Emperor magic in all magic elements.

Because of Rudy's high mana level he can technically create the magic of emperor ranked power or above for every magic school,(see the attack against Orsted or Badigadi) but they aren't officially ranked spells like how Cumulonimbus is saint. Spoilers for Ln: Rudy does however eventually learn the Emperor ranked water spell: Absolute Zero which is kinda similar to Frost Nova, but more potent.

Downloaded the anime and then watched the entire series while skipping until I saw any magic, then recorded it. Propably some better method of doing it. Took a while to make it since I tried to get the names right so I cross checked the wiki and the lightnovels, but often the anime changes the battles a tiny bit so some things might be wrong. I'm an anime only viewer of Re:Zero so would be cool to see this done for that as well, since I don't fully understand how the magic works there.
@@Krowsn it's the opposite for me xD I already have the first 7 Mushoku Novels (yes, the revised version), but I'm currently reading the last 2 volumes of Overlord and after that I plan to switch to the Web Novel of Re Zero (fuck Yen Press) and read it until I'm up to date. So it will take a while until I start with the Mushoku Novels, but I should have more than enough knowledge to name most ReZero spells
It is good just because it has uncomfortable scenes and a degenerate MC that grows up doesn't really negate the story the worldbuilding the characters and their growth aswell as the power system being expanded
