I feel that you missed a few key points in your excitement with the tassels. Don't get me wrong I love the Vid! The wand in it's diagonal formation in the box thus resulting in a larger (wider box) is due to its fractional length difference. The wand needs to fit basically. The colour - it being darker - is down to the type of wood used. Also the wand is NOT hollow! The wand will be carved out on a lathe. The dimples will be done by hand; sanding or using a dremel tool. This rotates to cut the wood down, any more narrow and it would most likely snap on the lathe. Lastly the material that the wand sits on is silk, possibly fax silk. And the price you pay reflects the time and skill of how the wand is made. Drawing will have to be made will all the dimensions that the lathe worker will have to constantly measure. If I remember correctly these wands are made/curated by the same person that made them for the films (PoA to DH pt2)
It's certainly interesting to hear how much work goes into making a wooden wand - this is obviously the reason for the increased price. Thanks for that 👍
Your Noble Collection Elder Wand is so much lighter in color than the one I have. Which one is yours? Mine is s17 on the trademark, meaning a 2017 release. Are you friends with Peter from The Potter Collector? You two uses similar Harry Potter music in your videos.
Well this is the newer Fantastic Beasts Elder one, but I know that paint jobs can change. I am in deed friends with Peter and yes, I love that we use similar music too ha ha
I came across this video because I was thinking about getting a wand finally, comparing this against the Noble Collection replica, it seems like the Noble Collection one is closer to the actual film prop, which would make sense as resin is likely much easier to shape and hold colour compared to natural wood. So thank you for the video, it was interesting to watch I think I've decided to get the one from Noble Colelction
I bought all three of them, unfortunately they are out of production. At least that's what I've been told at the Harry Potter stores in London. Although they're larger than the resin wands, I do prefer these more. These are definitely not for any cosplay, they are collector items and should be treated as such. I am disappointed they didn't make one for Ron, I convinced myself they didn't because Ron broke his wand in the movies lol
Oh gosh, I didn't realise that they had stopped making them. I guess a limited release indeed. It is a shame they didn't make one for Ron. I can only imagine that because of production costs (and I agree with you about Ron's broken wand) they decided against it ha ha

Thanks so much, that is very kind of you. The wand I use in my videos is actually not a character wand, but an unofficial real wooden wand. I purchased it many years ago, from a little shop in London, which made it all the more magical for me. I see it as my wand, which is why I use it a lot.

has anyone bought the Hermoine Granger wooden wand from the Potter Shop yet? i’m torn between Dumbledore or her wand. the design of her wand in real wood looks like it might be the winner.
I have not bought her wand yet, but every time I her wooden wand at the tour, I am very tempted. I have held it in real life and it is very beautiful - it will make it into my collection at some point soon
The wooden wands are beautiful, although I'm not a fan how Harry's wand was designed because theres barely any details when compared to the Noble Collection and its thick. I think I'll get Hermione's wand, her's isn't as thick as Harry's or the Elder Wand, its like the Noble Collection but more beautiful
It's definitely interesting to see how they managed to make it wooden. Let me know what you think of Hermione's when you get it, perhaps I will be tempted ha ha
only some though... noble collection lost quality control after a couple years unfortunately. I think my harry wand is all an exact replica, but I will say the darkness in this one is a little closer to the real one, but still has some red like the original. the tip is nicer, but its probably a little to fat. hard to tell without the original movie one to look at closely. also, the noble one is half wood so that great!

This Elder Wand is not. Clearly it's far more thicker than the one portrayed in both Harry Potter and Fantastic Beast. This version looks flesh like not skinny and skeleton like. 60$ for a wooden stick that can break easily is not worth the money at all. You would have to be really obsessed to get your hands on it. 60$ is just crazy.
@@DanielKim2024G for that price you're better off getting the Elder wand off Alivan's. It's a bit thicker but is far more durable and survives being dropped many times. Plus it's made of actual elder wood.
Where are the official websites to get wands from, I know there is the noble collection and you can buy from Warner bros but is one better than the other or are they both official? I've always been a fan but want to start collecting ☺
The wands from warner bros are also by Noble Collection, who are the official wand creators. There are plenty of sites that sell Noble Collection, so just make sure it is by them and you'll be good 👍
Okay my personal opinion, I bought both the noble collection 2nd version and this wooden wand. I like the Resin based one more than the Wooden one. The wooden one does have some good parts like the colouring, weight, sturdiness, and feel. But the wooden one is prone to imperfections, mine had weird painting, and I can tell where the wood ended, and the tip is sharp, and it was not fun to hold. The Resin based is fragile, heavy, and it had a few paint imperfections on the runes. But it feels fun to hold and it looks more like the Elder wand from the movies, plus it’s *WAY* cheaper, I was able to get 2 for the same price as the wooden one. In my opinion get the Resin based one, but if you want to get the wooden one, I ain’t gonna judge
