Thanks, I was there 4 years ago, so things may have changed but you didn't need a license for fishing in the sea. You do if you want to fish in freshwater. I didn't buy any equipment in Iceland - the prices are very expensive there, compared to the UK.

You have any tipps fpr me or you know someone there who can help me to catch brown trout, arctic char snd a salmon. Just wsnt to catch all species. Also wsnt catch steinbitur snd halibut but rent bost costs there 500€ per day. I have a license to go out with the boat
Hi Tony. I'm jealous! No, I only had a travel rod with me and a few soft lures, so was limited to the method in the vid. I also fished the harbour wall next to where the cruise ships moor. There were some people bait fishing next to me catching small Whiting mostly. I caught the biggest Scorpion Fish I have seen from this point (about 1lb).
@@andrewsmith5094 1lb scorpion! Might have a rethink and stick to lure fishing and lrf then, didn't really think about cod on lures until I saw your video. I'll let you know how it goes and post some videos once I get my kit sorted out. Thanks a lot for the replies
@@christopherrowley7506 so far I've had small ísa and þorskor fishing off of Skarfabakki using lures. I'm popping back to the UK in a few weeks to stock up on better equipment, then I'll be fishing a lot more. I'll keep you up to date on catches
@@TonySaunders Nice! Yeah taking advantage of cheap prices í útlöndum is a good idea. I have very little fishing experience so I'm sure I'll have a steep learning curve. Hopefully I'll manage to get some fish in the freezer, but should be fun either way.
Ah, but that's the power of editing! The session I filmed was over an hour. However, the evening before I was hooking almost every cast. The joy of fishing - no 2 - sessions are the same.
