Brand New covered this? Sheesh I'm old. Oh well, I heard a bar band cover Taking Back Sunday (dude actually called "Cut(e) Without the E" an oldie) and Finch, so what do I know?
what's really awesome? I read your comment with all sincerity 4 years down the road, without realizing it was in response it was to a comment I posted 5 years ago. A true tribute to Jawbreaker, which lives on for many a year.
Fall Out Boy have also coverd Jawbreaker, thankfully they weren't famous and no one has heard the butchered song. And I like their first album, but they just pissed all over the song.
disagree, huge fan of both; just because they're from an earlier and more influential era doesn't make them better. brand new have shown alot more growth than jawbreaker (although jawbreaker started great, they really only stayed great). brand new started in less flattering circumstances but have grown into a completely different act (and a great one at that). i see them as the alt/rock equivalent of poison the well.
i heard this song today at a college radio station. thanks for posting it. classic!
i love this song. i didn't even know about it until i heard the cover by brand new...then i found this and was floored.
this bassline is the basis of my existence.

Not entirely, it's the same vain, but they aren't really related. I wouldn't put them side by side ever, but they're in the same league surely.
