Hi friends, thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy hearing me reflect on my most anticipated games of the year. If you wanna know about my most anticipated SALE of the year, check out INTO THE AM's Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, where you can save up to 60% site-wide plus an ADDITIONAL 10% off using my link: bit.ly/INTOTHEAM-theASMRnerd. It's their craziest savings of the year, and you don't wanna miss it!
I completely feel you about not finishing games. It feels like ever since adulthood hit I can’t find the time or motivation to finish a game unfortunately.
I normally get like 1/3rd (something like 10-15 hours) of the way into a game's main content before dropping all interest completely. I envy my younger self, pulling 10 hour sessions every weekend replaying games I've already beaten. Time flies
Love the format!! I remember watching your most anticipated at the start of the year, and it’s very cool to see your before and after takes on the same games. A suggestion if you do this again next year: it would be cool to hear about any “honorable mentions” that made a big splash for you in the year but were NOT on your anticipated list for whatever reason. Great stuff as always!
Dropping a comment for the TH-cam engagement. We want more of this, TH-cam :D I feel like my favorites this year were all things not on my radar originally: ufo50, Zelda echoes of wisdom, and Crypt Custodian!
Totally agree with your comments especially about MS24 and Avowed, looking forward to those so much, I swerved outlaws may pick it up in a sale somewhere along the line. 2025 is shaping up well imo especially the first couple of months!
Into my early 30's now, I feel like for me, objectively great games like Banishers are harder to commit the time to for what I want after the 9-5. I really liked the presentation, I loved the main characters' dynamic, the story and setting felt rich and mature. It was just a little bit that between the combat and gear system - which in my opinion erred a hair on the Souls-like in terms of opacity - and a heavy-ish theme (grief and loss, in the chapters I completed), it was a tough one to boot back up after a few hours. Although to be 100% fair, I do attribute a little of this to the "Modern Gamer" in me/all of us. So many choices, so little time. And a strong familiarity with so many dimensions of game systems that even playing just a couple of chapters results in being satisfied that you've got that game's "experience". Though maybe that's just me. Good video though, always interested to hear your thoughts!
Agreed on all points, you took the words right out of my mouth. It's nearly impossible for me to commit to playing through the entirety of a lengthy game these days, so instead, I end up sampling bits and pieces of many. I often find myself wishing I had time to dive deeper and really see everything a game has to offer, but it's just not realistic.
My favourite game of this year was definitely Black Myth Wukong. (There is a massive open world area in the game and it literally made my draw drop) Theres so much to do and the game is super beautiful and engaging, especially since I love Japanese Mythology. Other than that, I’ve been playing the new Until Dawn remake which was actually really good! 2024 for gaming wasn’t too exciting but I hope in 2025 we get some fresh news for ES6 and Kingdom Hearts 4! ✨
It's not related to the top 10, but I'm curious! Any chance we can get your thoughts on Natlan so far? :) If you're still keeping up with Genshin, of course.
Yeah, live service games can really dominate your time if you let them. There's definitely something to be said for focusing on single-player experiences that have a definite end and don't demand constant daily interaction.
Hey Nick! Hope you’re doing well, would love to know if you’ve given the new Pokemon TCG Pocket mobile game a go? I’m finding it really fun so far. P.S just saved this video to my watch later as unfortunately I’m still at work here in NZ !

Gamer ADHD for sure. Been sick for two decades 😂
Elden Ring and Space Marine 2 are probably the only games I've finished completely in a long time
saving my night fr 😩, always feels like a christmas present after an eternity when you drop a vid since you changed your upload schedule
Eyy, Certified First! 🥇 I'm hoping to get the videos out more regularly again once we're done with renovations on the new house and moved in!

Honestly, I've been playing more actual games and not online games. And it feels pretty great. Just trying to clear the old backlog.

My friend works for Bethesda. They aren’t doing as much as you’d think to make new content

Haven't tried it yet, but I feel like I ought to, because people keep asking me about it!
If you want to play flight sim with me I’m a commercial pilot if you want to learn some about it
