17:44 The meat is slightly off because the skewer's durability/quality percentage is going down due to being too close to the fire and being damaged essentially, check the item in the Vicinity section. I'd set the skewer further away at first, then scoot it closer until it goes from Warm to Hot, and keep checking the durability bar to make sure the percent isn't going down at all. If it is, it's too close so back it up. Anyway, thanks for the great guides, looking forward to watching more!
Thank you velorra for your feedback. Greatly appreciated. The devs seemed to have changed vicinity damage with fire a few times now. Cooking will be something that's fixed but unfortunately, not right now. Thank you for your comment and have a lovely rest of your weekend :)
@@RayKit Oh yeah definitely, lots has changed. Honestly I don't think Cooking is technically broken - you can see the skewer quality bar going from 68 to 67 to 66 percent in the vicinity bar at the timestamp noted, and that's what seems to determine if something is Spoiled or not. I just grilled some perfect wolf steaks by not placing them too close so the item burns/spoils, so Cooking via ring fire seems to be working fine at the moment.
@@RayKit do you know if there's a button to change the zero on guns? I play Arma3 and most rifles can be manually zeroed from 100m to battle zero (25/300m), sometimes more like up to 600m.
just jumped into scum, didnt play since they released it so i cant wait to see more of these. i gotta show this to my friends, we are completely clueless and dying all the time!! great stuff, thanks
11:08 the deer was actually facing that direction before it turned and ran the other way, the tracks just show you what direction the front the the animal was facing when it left them
Great series so far. I'm just now getting into the game and I'm sure your series will save me many hours of trial & error. I put many hours into The Long Dark and this game has similar aspects but on steroids. I look forward to your other videos.
I just bought this game for a big open world sale Steam was having, I haven’t been able to play it yet though since I’ve been at work all night so I’m catching up on the basics. Thanks for the videos!
Your videos are super helpful 👍 easy pace and I really appreciate you recapping what you gone over previously and allowing time for everyone to digest the information. Thanks!
I bought the and played the game yesterday, and i played lots of survival games but i learned some new things here thank u and i lobe this game it is awesome
It's important to note that you don't actually need anything to be in your inventory to craft something. You can leave the rocks on the ground and still craft the knife. Same thing applies to everything else as long as it's on the ground in the vicinity.
Another benefit of using higher quality cutting tools is that you get more out of whatever it is you're cutting. For example when you are cutting a large stick into small ones you get 2 small ones with the stone knife or 3 with the stone axe
Thank you alot for these videos i saw scum was alot cheaper today and was thinking of buying it now im actually really digging it knowing more about it great video keep it up! :D
Also make a quiver you'll cut up more of your clothes but it will give you another storage space or just holds your arrows at the beginning and bones can be used to make needles and you can skin and get bones and hide from the zombies you can make a bigger backpack with a sewing kit and hides as well as a 2 stack quiver from hide as well with a bone needle all you need is a spool of thread for a sewing kit
A good thing to get used to is not to obsess about efficiency early game. Early game It's ok to leave common resources on the ground if they are not needed in the near future
@@RayKit yeah I got a refund on steam for the game. After watching your videos iam loading it back up now thanks again. Your the best at showing this game I have seen.
Hey I can’t somehow craft the sewer with meat ,in the video you only need 1 sewer and 5 meat to craft a meat sewer but I need 3 more mats ingame to craft one which I don’t have and I first need to find them for example plant oil
Do you have to do all this EVERY new character? I sure as hell hope not. Would suck if you're someone who dies a lot and this ends up being all that you do lmao. I like the thorough gameplay but have always disliked crafting. Will do it out of necessity but ya know. Thx for another helpful vid!
Cooking def need rework, you can put meat in yer backpack or hold it in yer hand and stand by the fire and it will still cook.also if you make stew after you eat it you lose yer pot.Hate it when i lose my pot.
Anyone got tips on cold survival? I've worked out you can eat snow which is a start. I know a lot has changed since this vid probably, but the tips are still awesome! However, by the time I got to the point of crafting this axe I'd had hypothermia for a while and on 20% health, it's like The Long Dark all over again :D
Pfffft, with god mode? We need to know in a certain situation how to react, when sick or hungry ...or unexpected situations there are tons of pages wiki for crafting
I really wish I could have given this game a shot. Couldn't get through character creation without the game crashing. Got a refund minutes after downloading
I am sorry but this isn't a "beginners guide" it's a playthrough... I came to try and get a feel for the game but this is way too drawn out for a guide.
Well it's a guide not a playthrough. i play when i stream most days of the week. i'm showing people how to play with tips guides implemented. it's your survival not mine. I've been playing this since day 1.
@@RayKit guide's don't generally have "episodes" and the way this is laid out is like a playthrough. Not trying to be a prick just sayin as I was looking for tips and newcomer info the length of these and amount of time spent just "playing" turned me away. The title felt misleading in that and I have avoided any videos you made due to that. Structure matters and misleading titles that don't fit said structure tend to be looked at as click bait. But hey if your stream audience (the ones looking to watch you play more than for info) are happy with it then more power to ya! Wish you the best of luck.
Well well well! Episode 2! Enjoy Don't forget to subscribe for to keep up with everything and hope to catch you on my live streams.
Thank you so much for these videos you describe things really good and you have halped me out a lot with just 2 videos thank you really

I never realized how complex this game really is (which I love) watching your videos were a life saver. I always watched your videos over any other

These videos are great. Ive spent the last 2 nights grinding at trying to learn the game. These videos are gonna help me a ton thanks
Thank you!
Great info RayKit. Learned so much from just this little video.
Thanks Bill! Awesome! Makes my day mate

Can’t wait to se the rest of this series.
I have only just discovered this game and already LOVE it.

Very insightful. Just got this game so looking forward to learning from you. Cheers
My pleasure, i'll be pushing more videos out from next week as i stream a lot on this channel too. Thanks John stay safe bud

I've done that stuff in the game I don't know how often, but it's still nice and interesting to follow you along.
Hey thanks RK, just downloaded this game n been watching your vids, very helpful so thanks for making the game become abit more enjoyable

This helps me a lot! Thanks RK!
just started playin a few days ago and im addicted. these tips are helpin as well thanks
A really helpful beginners guide, well done!!!
Great videos will watch more of these later
really good guide, you rock!
Glad you think so!
this has been a great guide, one thing i wish they would add is to rotate and item while holding it you just hit "R" instead of all that nonsense.
You could've warned us about eating all the mushrooms we can find. but the results were spectacular!
8:39 it is better to keep the arrows Improvised Quiver (12 or 24 Arrows)
Also make a quiver you'll cut up more of your clothes but it will give you another storage space or just holds your arrows at the beginning and bones can be used to make needles and you can skin and get bones and hide from the zombies you can make a bigger backpack with a sewing kit and hides as well as a 2 stack quiver from hide as well with a bone needle all you need is a spool of thread for a sewing kit
can you use controller support in this game? if so, a small indepth tutorial would be amazing

Yeah exactly
Great videos thanks.
No worries thanks jake!

Dropping knowledge like a boss.. smack that like button folks
I remapped the F key or "interact" to my thumb mouse button. It's So damn useful.
nice.... it helped me a lot

I didn't know you could turn items in your inventory. 👍🏻
Excellent to hear you have learnt something in the video. Makes my day thank you for letting me know :)
You could get a tinder from the log instead of cutting your socks for making the fireplace
Just getting into scum whats the best way to find people online to team up with?
How did you rotate the item?
Left ctrl mouse wheel i think ill mention this in my next episode next Thursday
Would that be a good time to make animal skin quiver?
BTW Nice video series, looking forward to it all.
Thanks bud. Not putting too much into the video at once. Plus I'm timing myself cheers dude
You need a sewing kit for that.
Else I had commented the same :)
@@jonx6870 Did not know, hence the question. :)

you can just craft your bag and go to the city so you find food guns water, you dont have to hunt thats your choose what you do
sweet RayKit! this is great info!!!!
Thanks dust! 👊
How do you scroll down the different items your able to use when crafting? i don't think i caught it or heard you say it. I could be wrong
Please be aware that just after this was recorded the compass now is only visible in focus mode....
Thansk dude!
Can you remap all those function buttons like left-ctrl for rotating in the inventory or are they all hardmapped in to the game?
I will check :)
I seem to suck at finding the animals after I first hit them, even knowing which direction they ran.
How do you flip stuff in your inventory? Like to maximize your room?
Left ctrl + scroll mousewheel.
helpful, nice hunting
Thanks harro
Morning😊😊
Good morning :)
Him: "There's the deer"
Me: What ? What? Wait where is it?

you do need guts though to make sausages. :)

already new things. I just recalled, I have been away 13 months from this game ...
But Ray, running naked into a town is fun, haha
