  • DIY Chevron Coffee Table
I started off staining a few boards Jacobean and Weathered Oak, the rest I left unstained in natural pine.
I used a mitre saw to cut my board ends at a 45 degree angle.
I then mounted the cut boards onto a coffee table-sized piece of particle board using 1 1/4" wood screws from the bottom of the particle board up through. No worries, the wood screws aren't long enough to pop through the coffee tabletop.
The hairpin legs are 16" heavy duty from Industrial by Design, the best quality I could find. I mounted them on the bottom of the particle board with the same 1 1/4" wood screws.
I used cargo ratchet straps to hold on the edging pieces while the wood glue set and also used several screws to hold on the edging pieces. I used a 45 degree bevel cut on my mitre saw to create a nice corner of the edging pieces.
After sanding with a fine 160 then 320 grit on the hand sander, I applied a final coat all over of Weathered Oak stain.

Been looking at 25 or 30 videos on how to do this, and even though you have no audio, it was clear what you were doing. By far the best video for the chevron coffee table. Thanks, and great job.
