I adore this series. The acting was amazing, that it felt very real. As a German, I usually avoid Nazi movies. Too depressing. But this was very well done and portrayed that not all Germans were evil. Most soldiers do not want to kill anyone.
But his self-confidence isn't entirely genuine either. He emphasizes that he is actually shy and insecure. But he always plays very intensely. He also takes part in many artistic projects on the side. In music videos, art projects, theater films, etc.
I love that the three leads are not big names. I did watch the trailer because Mark Ruffalo was in the thumbnail 😂 but then I ran to read the book, and then waited months to see the series and fell in love with the cast ❤ awesome, loving, job
Not a big name in the US, but L. Hoffman is known worldwide for the Dark series. L. Eidinger is a big name in German-speaking countries and France. I just didn't know the actress before

I first read the book 7 years ago and after finishing it, I remember I had wanted so much for it to become a film. I’m so happy it did. I’m so happy I got to see this beautiful story unfold on screen. This series is so masterfully done and brought out the same swell of emotions I had from reading the book.
Please just watch this series for its beauty and depth! Stop making book comparisons. Film is its own art form, and directorial choices make this limited series masterful. Critics are making comparisons between apples and oranges. Viewers love this masterpiece!
So glad I clicked the play button for that 1st episode before watching videos like this. Going in “blind” is the best way to do it. I immediately recommended to my mom and sister, who both loved it too.

Lars has been a surprise to anyone who has never watched European movies, for us, especially for people who've been watching German-speaking content, it is no secret he's absolutely phenomenal
Just superb series. Lars is soso good in it. So believable! He be a great bad guy in Star wars! Amazing actor. He played such opposite character than he played in Babylon Berlin. Just great acting
I avoided reading the book because I avoid anything having to do with that evil subject. Yesterday I decided to watch the movie because I knew I could turn it off if it was too difficult to watch. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the movie! It was so well written and acted! The ending showed great hope! From an elderly movie addict.
I’ve really enjoyed Lars acting I actually felt sorry when he died he was definitely multidimensional just like we all are we’re not just evil or angelic we are everything. Oh and I ❤ Mark he truly embodied the father figure with Ari both her younger self and the older everyone shined literally everyone I just wish the screenplay was written a little differently
Sadly these series coming as an Indian film they copied all and left their leading girl not blind ... rest all lies they came up with some biography lie that some lady did this 😂 pls check there thrailer it calls Ae Watan Mere Watan

Lars was definitely a stand out! I don't think Adam Driver would have done it better!
he might have brought the right intensity, but, looks-wise, he would have been miscast as a German Officer.
Why? (I don't know the series.)
@@ADavid42Alexander Scheer would also have been very suitable. He can be extremely intimidating in his roles and is one of the best actors in Europe.

Lars was playing such an evil and deranged charecter and so convincigly so that it's almost surprising to see how gentle he is as a person.

The Cast was wonderful. Is a pity that the change the story of the book. I would have loved to see these actors in the original story
