I really like that this is a channel that doesn't try to be really short and actually does full videos that you can actually learn from, videos like "how to in 5 minutes" are not the best for actually learning how to make music
Hey 👋🏾 just wanted to say that I’m really proud to say that this guy is definitely one of the great teacher ... pure compassion and just honest and not over bearing. Like I always says “ knowledge is an endless passage key” keep the POSITIVITY thank you IN THE MIX. DONT EVER CHANGE BRO👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks Michael. I know I may have commented this already when the Video Dropped but, I've been wondering why Sliding notes with a 3rd party plugin NEVER worked in the piano roll!.. THANKS A BILLION YOU NEED MORE RECOGNITION FOR THESE VERY SIMPLE TO FOLLOW VIDEOS AND NO ADDED BULLSHIT . YOU THE REAL OG TEACHER FOR D.A.W TUTORIALS
When using the automation channel to do pitch bends, another tip to save you time in manually bending to -200 cents is to do the following: - Set pitch bend range to +/-5 semitones - In the automation clip, right-click your point and select "Type in value" - Each 10th (so 0.1) value corresponds to a semitone, with 0.5 being the base pitch - 2 semitones down would be -> 0.5 - 0.2 = 0.3 - If you need a larger pitchbend range, use 10 or 50 (0.05 and 0.01 step per semitone, correspondingly)
@@inthemix Thanks! I had to test it to make sure that I had the instructions written properly and spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out why my pitch bend wasn't working - because I was just playing the pattern and not the song with the automation /facepalm
The winners of last weeks giveaway shared these tips for everyone to learn from: "I would say the best tip I have is don’t be afraid to re-listen to your melody and chords again without the drums if you’re struggling. Just listening alone can spark a new idea if you’re stuck on a groove and don’t feel like it’s progressing" - Daniel Wisell "1. Don't force or overthink it. It will probably just make you enjoy the process and your beats less. Often simple is better, especially if you're making beats that you expect a topline on since it will leave room for the artist to do their thing. 2. Move on. If you feel like you're stuck on a beat, leave your DAW for a while or starts working on another idea and come back and listen to it with fresh ears. It can help you progress easier. 3. It is okay to remove sounds. This one has helped me become a better producer because earlier I would throw too many sounds into the beat which would make it muddier and harder to listen to. Let your beats breathe. :) " - MILES "- Stop comparing yourself to others, your journey will be different - Open yourself to different genres , bpm's, etc - NEVER give up , its a marathon not a sprint! ALWAYS remember why you started making music - Learn to accept compliments - More layers are not always the answer. Focus on fewer, quality sounds! - Hi-Pass Filters are your friend for removing excess low end" - Alexander Z Thanks for sharing all of these tips :) Michael
Congrats to the winner's, great tips tnx! A akai fire ,would be fire! But especially the mastering job would be nice:). Great vid again, keep up the good work!!
This isn't what I'm looking but holy shit I never knew the Envelope feature, I always deal with the gaw damn audio samples playing and not stop playing until they end, so this was helpful
Michael, you just don't know how much I appreciate you! Thank you as always for the exceptional content as well as your positive attitude. We need more of this nowadays :)
Thank u for showing what the pitch dial does i never really understood its function and thus never used it . But now i see how easy it makes our workflow. Thanks very much.
Just want to leave this here from all of us just to say you are an Absolute legend and you help us all so much. You are the best TH-cam channel for FL. Thank you
I dont understand how someone can dislike this guy's videos? It's completely irrational. The man has the best FL Studio tutorial series on youtube, i fail to understand how some people think
Wow. I have been playing in FL Studio for 10 years but haven't been able to find any tutorials basic enough to be helpful until today, when I found this video. I instantly subscribed and will be mining your tutorial content in the future.
Incredible-never thought about the automating the pitch dial, thought i was just confined to the slide option in the piano roll-rlly helpful thanks brother
Thank you i really needed to know how to slide notes. Im an upcoming producer in Namibia and even though im too much in Afro and traditional African Music, i really learned a lot from your tutorials.
Gotta say that you have been the first of many to really help me understand this program, along with my admiration to your passion for music. Thank you for your effort, it truly speaks volume. Continue what you're doing!
There is a lot of topic just like this one which most of the beginning just like me do not understand and could not make the most out of their resources but your tutorial is a great help for the beginners . I bet its the best tutorial on this topic as always🧡🧡
Just wanted to say, editing in the exact locations of each button and the shortcuts you press makes this tutorial many steps above others I've seen. Well done and thanks!
I really appreciate these videos In the Mix. As a person who has become extremely motivated recently with learning how to make music, these videos have been wonderful at getting me used to FL Studio before I'm able to afford the software and MIDI. You have a wonderful way of explaining things, and I urge you to never stop helping everyone!
This guy is unbelievable good, I haven't found anyone else on You Tube who explains Fl studio like him. You should be teaching Master Classes for Fl Studio. Exceptional work Michael.
Thanks man I remember you saying in one of your tutorials that you should control the program, not be controled by it, which is, unfortunately, the case with me, especially when it comes down to synth. I'm nothing without your videos So please keep the tutorials coming!
you are the best Mr In The Mix!all tutorials is so useful and thanks from my soul about these lessons!i learn how to use my best DAW!fl studio:)keep it up!god bless you:)
You are the man! I have been using fl studio for sevral years now. But for the last 4 years I have spent more time playing guitar and bass. Now I have decided to work on a solo (organic-electronic) project so I need to explore Fl Studio even further. I have find your channel very useful. I have noticed something about the way you use and feel the DAW... when you play a sample or a short phrase you rock your head as if you are listening to the beat in your head. That means you already have a mind frame for the whole thing while you work on those small chunks... maybe you do it intuitively ....that seems to me very interesting and made me think a lot about the approach to compose and work flow. Thanks I really hope you read this and comment... about my comment .. :-)
It never fails. Nearly everytime you post, it seems to be right on time with the problem I'm running into. Thanks for all the great videos. They are very, very helpful and inspiring👍
Pitch shifting is dope. Could never figure out how to do it accurately with automations in FL as it shows % rather than semitones. Now I know. Thank you Michael!
OMG! I was just looking for this video... I manually tried to play around with the pitch automation but it wasn't working out as the values and range were crazy (i selected 24 initially!) but this video made it a whole lot easier! Thank you so much!
You are an amazing human being...every time i get disappointed with my music i just watch your videos and its easily solved we love you sir...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The bend notes don't just work with pitch, it slides between any other properties of the note too! I use that for note fadeouts or soft cuts by having a "pitch bend" to the same pitch but different volume, which puts it all in the one pattern instead of having to make automation clips for it.
I thank u sir. I am a music youtuber and I need pitch bend effect seriously. My midi controller doesn't have pitch pend option, and ur video has helped me a lot.
Bro you are the best. I have been trying to work out how to use the slide feature for ages with a hit and miss success!! You explained it so clearly. Keep up the good work. I was wondering what the difference is with the S and the triangle
mucho thx 😻 very usefull, as usual! and much better then the video i just saw; i shoulda known.. but what what i learned in the other tutorial is that when bending .wav, set the mode to stretch to prevent the sample shrinking and growing as you pitch. maybe i missed it but i think you didnt mentioned it
Very interesting.. never knew about the slide notes within FL Studio. Most of the time I use overlapping notes with portamento/slide . Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
I have seen ur every video many time ,I am from India and I love music production , I have learnt a lot from your videos and that was exect video which I want , thankyou so much for your help. Keep up the good work.

I really like that this is a channel that doesn't try to be really short and actually does full videos that you can actually learn from, videos like "how to in 5 minutes" are not the best for actually learning how to make music
And yet, they are shorter than some of the "how to really fast do blabla" - you just know more in the end xDDD
I also like the general genre-neutrality. You can apply most of these tips and videos to other genres.

I agree!
Damn bro, those notes slid so smoothly I slipped on the floor.
When using the automation channel to do pitch bends, another tip to save you time in manually bending to -200 cents is to do the following:
- Set pitch bend range to +/-5 semitones
- In the automation clip, right-click your point and select "Type in value"

- 2 semitones down would be -> 0.5 - 0.2 = 0.3
- If you need a larger pitchbend range, use 10 or 50 (0.05 and 0.01 step per semitone, correspondingly)
This is genius.

We gotta do math now to make beats?😂
@@PrinceTheProducerBeats sometimes it feels like that! Maths and music are closely linked but I prefer to go by feel!
