Pressure increases ONLY by height and NOT by the thickness of the pipe ! The main idea of bringing a 1.5 all the way to the bathroom is because there is a split for hot n cold. When this happens half the AMOUNT of water gets split (NOT the pressure). Secondly his idea of using an angled/sloped pipe is good, but only theoretical. Image a bathroom with only a shower. There will be many other connections taken from the cold line. Toilet, sink, health faucet etc. Hence eventually a right angle approach will hv to be taken. That said i would take the 1.5 inch pipe all the way till the lowest point in the bath and then reduce to 1". Otherwise when the flush tank is filling, the amount of bath in the sink will reduce considerably.
