It's very disrespectful when fans tab this rookie as the best ever. For one she doesn't consistently play both sides of the ball. She turns the ball over too much. There is so much work for Caitlin. I can't stand when they call her the greatest offensive rookie. Last i checked or have seen myself, Seimone Augustus and Cappie Pondexter put on an offensive clinic their rookie seasons. Yes, the record book says Cynthia Cooper, but she wasnt really a rookie fresh out of college. No other rookies have come close offensively. Those 2 lit it up, had Taurasi scoring that thing too cause she wasn't gonna be showed up. Then there is Candace Parker, the best rookie according to her awards. I felt like politics played a role in that decision because the Sparks weren't that good. I felt Deanna Nolan of the Detroit Shock was snubbed. CP was the most hated rookie, had a fight against the Detroit Shock and Plenette Peirson, a fight that ended Cheryl Ford's season and career to a torn ACL. Caitlin only getting what she dishing out. The players care less who sees, while she thinks shes safe, they come back and lay that ass out. She's not innocent but gets away with murder. The way she pushes a defender off, she should never play the time she does. She's smart when defenders ride her hip, shes able to hook them and drag them along getting the foul called. So, the history of this league is rich and she was able to leave an amazing mark. However, not the best.

This is a resentful narrative about Clark and a bunch of people agreeing to make themselves feel better? Clark is an incredible rookie and yeah, she'll have a bad game and sometimes pressure gets to her. But she's ahead of schedule in what she's accomplishing AFAIC. She is an elite player and Cynthia Cooper and others can see that and have no problem with it. That's not to take away from A'ja or Collier or Kah Cooper or even Rickea or Angel. Exactly-male and female sports are separate for a reason. It’s the same sport but two different products. Men can in many instances be good or great on talent alone, while the same can be true sometimes for women, most often times we have to be talented, athletic, fundamentally sound, etc. which is why when we see players like Aja Wilson Chennedy Carter etc we marvel at them because it’s rare relative to male athletes.

I just don't understand why folks have to try to talk her down so much. There's nothing she's done or said that has been anything but respectful to other players, including A'ja. And didn't she say A'ja was not guardable and IMO, that's her way of saying thanks for the MVP considerations, but it's A'ja's not mine.
I view Clark as a developing player and I notice how she's working on some hesi moves, taking more midrange shots, trying floaters, using a behind the back move consistently to change direction and get separation and all people say is "she pushes off" which isn't true. Has she mastered some of these moves yet? Not really. But she's developing.
She may play great tonight or not. I won't be surprised either way. But if it was so easy to take a few things away, would she have the numbers she's had since the break? Was Carrington able to take Clark's total game away against the Sun where Clark scored the go ahead bucket late in the 4th to put the Fever up 82-80?
