If you like "The Soul of an Octopus," try Sy Montgomery's latest book, “Secrets of the Octopus.” It's fascinating, and the National Geographic photography is stunning. 🐙
All The Lonely People was amazing! I will never forget this story. This is a book that I don't feel gets enough hype. Thank you for some additional recommendations.😊
I love your energy… you have me rollin 😂😂😂!! Imma pick up a couple your recs “My Gov tryn kill meh” and Fallin Skye” and lastly… you ain’t nevah lied on them t.v. series 😂😂 They need to just drop the season and stop playin wit us 😉📚🫡
This video was recommended to me; first time on your channel and I'm a new follower 😊 Love this video - love hearing book recommendations in this conversational style like we're literally just chatting books over a few drinks 🥂 Will definitely be checking some of these books out.
I’ve heard others mention Julia Whelan as a narrator favorite…. Just looked her up in Libby and 211 titles come up as her as the narrator! How in the world??…
Also love stories with elderly characters, especially when they strike up unlikely friendships like in Remarkably Bright Creatures. In Anxious People, Estelle was so my favorite. When they were like she's in Heaven listening to music with one man and reading books with another man....I freakin died.
I was wondering what the dog had to do with anything 😂😂😂…..Oh my, you just make me have the biggest smile on my face. Thank you for that. A Man Called Ove (pretty much anything Fredrick Backman), The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and most anything by Jodi Picoult come to mind first as recommendations. I’m mad at you though because my TBR list is already so LONG, so I vow to myself that I won’t watch any of your new videos until I’ve whittled it down by 10 or 20 books. Then, of course, my curiosity gets the best of me, and I just HAVE to hear what you have to say, and then more books have to get added to the list…. 😩😊
It's petty, but I avoid Jodi Picoult. She was one of a few authors (basically a group of wh.ite women) that bullied a college student for objecting to beach read fiction being considered for a university read project. The student thought there was a chance/need to read something with more complex discussion opportunities. Jodi and others with big followings piled on her, calling it sexist. Now there's a place for arguing for respect for women's fiction, but I don't think authors need to use their fandoms to bully anybody thinking talking about a book dealing with racism might be a better choice.
If you like reading about elder citizents, you have to read a Swedish book called A Man Called Ove. A feel good book about a grumpy man who has to deal with a new neighbour. Might make you shed a tear as well. Tom Hanks played the main character in the filmetazation A Man Called Otto.
I 💗 your energy! My auto recommendations just a few on my head right now would be Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan and Aru Shah/Pandava series by Roshani Chokshi.
I am so glad I decided to give this video a chance, you are a joy to watch. Though my list of books I want to read has just grow massively. My go to fiction recommendations are Mr Loverman- Bernadine Evaristo, 100 Years of Lennie & Margot - Marianne Cronin, anything by Fredrick Backman, nearly anything by Neil Gaiman (American Gods is too long as an introduction to his work), This Poison Heart - Kalynn Bayron, Shadow Of The Wind - Carlos Ruiz Zafón. Non fiction there are 2 that I always try to recommend, A Drop Of Midnight - Jason Diakité and The Future of Feeling - Kaitlin Ugolik Phillips, I am Not your Baby Mother Book - Candice Brathwaite . Everything else I recommend tends to be based on how well I know the person and their preferences but those are my go to that cover all bases and that I will just randomly buy for people.
My go-to’s are: Bunny-Mona Awad Chain-Gang All-Stars-Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah Yellowface-R.F. Kuang Prey-Michael Crichton Leaving Atlanta-Tayari Jones(I recommend all of her books) Several People Are Typing-Kevin Kasulke Passing-Nella Larsen
I’m obsessed w octopuses 🐙 and have had Remarkably Bright Creatures on my TBR for ages . Soul Of An Octopus is currently my bathroom book 📖 🪱 💚

Have you read The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler? Wonderful scifi novel in which octopodes play a big role.
@@meikusje That title's new to me. Thanks for the heads-up.

I'm digging the way that you explain the things you love! You're so expressive, its really adorable.
Just bought Remarkably Bright Creatures - sounds so good! :)
I adore Remarkably Bright Creatures! 🐙 I love your channel and have added some of your recommendations to my TBR.
The Measure is completely outside of the genres I normally read, but you have my interest peaked 😂. Let me go listen to this audiobook.
Lately my 2 go to recombination are: The House in the Cerulean Sea and The Book of Doors, it was released this past February.
I also light up when people ask me about books. I love when my co-workers ask me what I'm reading, they just know me and that warms my heart 🥰
The bookmark is niceeeee

I like to recommend Zoo City by Lauren Beukes because it's a fun read.
I haven’t read this author, but will put Zoo City on my list and check it out from my library. ❤

@@KaiOpaka Thanks for the info. I wasn’t aware of that situation.

Plenty on your book shelves to keep you busy. I'm currently reading the Count of Monte Cristo so I might be some time.
I had started and put down The Count of MC 5 times. I was determined to read it. I finally ended up reading and enjoying it.
Thanks for the recommendations! Love your comment about not going to come on here and lie…. 😂. We know there are plenty that do. Subscribed!
