Hyper form isn't as weak as you think. Even if not able to beat him there's more than one way to stop a demon. If that fails then I guess it will be a game of who loses faith first. Because if it wasn't a game they're wouldn't need rings at all and just how like sonic x, Even the films an shows they never use rings to stay in super forms and stamina have roles to as shadow lost it because of him using to much power.
