Or do you focus on the arrangement and then worry about getting a fuller stereo image in the mixing phase? Or do you kinda do it all at once as you go.
i wish i could tell you i have a set process... however in MOST cases i'll replace or try to improve samples after sorting a general structure. treating that structure like a map can help me figure out which samples i should be using and where. of course, there's gonna be times when you're having fun and shit just sounds great off the bat, or you'll want to capitalize on the mood or precise vision in that moment... in those moments i'm def not letting a plan interfere with inspiration. good to have a general process but always leave room for chaos 😈
