It’s off the deep end from here. 2nd half of this album is BRUTAL. Next song was supposed to be an instrumental but the label wanted lyrics and pissed Dave off about it so he gave em lyrics. 😂

Megadeth is one of my all time favourite bands. I like how you're going through the albums. Add Anthrax into the mix. Among the Living and Persistence of Time are two great albums to start with.

I suggest that you listen to Bathory. They are the inventors of black metal and Viking metal. The first four albums were black metal and the rest is Viking metal. The black metal era is very great. I suggest that you listen to the title track Blood Fire Death as a start by yourself

Yeah, I forgot to do a deep dive on the actual lyrics oof! Sorry about that. I did read them and think they are very creative and poetic. Somewhere, I read that the dude in the story is a murderer who gets haunted by one of his victims. I also read that Dave said it's based on the movie 'Papillon', which is an autobiography about Henri Charriere, one of the only people to successfully escape from the actual "Devil's Island". Thanks for the feedback! I won't forget next time DOH!
@@palskee The song about the murderer is Good Mourning/ Black Friday. Basically he is possessed and turns into a killer.
Devils Island is about the movie Papillon which Dave mentions on the live album Rude Awakening. (Side note, do the live video of She Wolf from that). It’s a jail like Alcatraz, where murderers and evil people went.
Love the channel. Megadeth blows you away not only with their music but with their lyrical content. I never get tired of listening to them. Them and Black Sabbath are my favorite bands. I’m a 61 year old man who’s been listening to hard rock and metal since I was 15.
By the way, Good Mourning/Black Friday contains one of if not the best line in all of metal. You’ll agree when you do the song.
When this album came out I was an angry teen skating, racing bmx and motox. I was into Metallica but when I heard this it just a warm blanket for this fucked up kid
