Hello, my family comes from genoa North Italy and I recently took a DNA test; the results made me feel overwhelmed because it said i was 35% South Sudan and 20% North African and 7% jewish. In total I am 38%. As I am aware, my family has been in Italy for generations and don't have any immigrant family. If you can make a video about this, I would feel blessed. Much love to my Italian sisters and brothers.
@@brawndothethirstmutilator9848 I did 23andme: haplogroup M1 and E1B1. How much sub saharan and north african did you get? I feel like it is innacurate, this came as extremely odd news because my family from what I know has been purebred Italians for the past 3 generations.
Mine were also incredibly inaccurate in so many ways... Believes I'm blonde...I'm a dark (almost black) brunette Believes I have thin hair...I have hair so thick that hairdressers panic. Believes I'm a morning person...definitely the opposite (attributed to my dad, definitely not) Unlikely to play a musical instrument...I'm a music major with a specialization in band (my parents met in marching band) Unlikely to set goals, be motivated, etc...I was a straight A, top 10 student Unlikely to focus easily...a long attention span since I was a toddler (like sit and watch a full musical long, reading chapter books in elementary school long) Like a high birth weight baby ... I was 7 pounds...my brothers were smaller than that Extrovert...definitely more of an introvert Unlikely to have a pet...I have 2 cats (but I wouldn't say I'm a crazy pet person) Endurance runner....always excelled at sprinting Unibrow...no, I don't get a unibrow (maybe a little inwards, but nowhere near a unibrow) There were also any number of things that seemed to belong to the wrong parent.
I'm wondering how all of this information will be used by Big Brother/Sister? Will it only lead to marketing implications or more threatening social credit scores or rankings.
I wanted to say I think you is awesome. Not only are you incredibly beautiful women you have a beautiful soul you are a wonderful human being.keep doing what you do God bless you ❤❤
My traits were hilarious! Apparently I’m a sports watching team player, who likes to dance and can follow choreography. Nope. Not at all. 😂 Sorry Ancestry, I am NOT a morning person. And cilantro, my DNA says I hate it, but my taste buds disagree lol. I am like your kids in that I will munch through bunches of the stuff. It did get my pale & non-freckled skin, light & thin hair, blue eyes, sprinter, strength building, high coffee intake, spicy food lover, musical, longer index finger, and introvert traits right. Overall, a real mixed bag in terms of accuracy. I think the appearance DNA is easier to pin down.
@@nytn Hi Danielle and all reading this! Here's the truth about cilantro and taste. This is from Medical Medium's Life Changing Foods, by Anthony William: "When a person perceives an abrupt, harsh flavor from the herb, it means that she or he has a higher oxidative rate of heavy metals in her or his system. This doesn't mean the person possesses a higher level of toxic heavy metals. Rather, the heavy metals (in this case, usually a combination of aluminum, nickel, and/or copper, at whatever level) in her or his body are corroding rapidly. Corrosion means that there's toxic runoff, which makes its way into a person's lymphatic system and saliva. The moment cilantro makes contact with the mouth, its phytochemicals start to bind onto any oxidative runoff they encounter - if there's a lot of this debris in a person's saliva, it can cause a harsh sensation when eating cilantro. In other words, if someone dislikes cilantro, there's a good chance he or she really needs it." The Medical Medium books are life-saving. Here's a link for more about cilantro, it's an amazing herb, and is one of the ingredients in the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie (delicious!). www.medicalmedium.com/blog/cilantro-life-changing-food
This is too hilarious. Wonder what my hair would be like (it gets REALLY wavy/curly wet and straight dry). I would die if they had "chances of being a serial killer" in there, this feels like Phrenology or craniology 💀
The theory behind it is much more scientific than Phrenology (which is a hilarious joke “science” by the way 😂). The thing is, these home kits only sequence a small percentage of your DNA. Whole Genome Sequencing should supply much more accuracy. Also, some of the things they are equipped to test are in the realm of probability. One example is dark chocolate vs. milk chocolate preference. There’s a gene associated with dark chocolate preference. Doesn’t mean that people who have it won’t prefer milk chocolate. Environmental factors can influence those types of things (negative or positive associations with food, familiarity with certain flavors, etc). Even hair for example. Hormonal status, exposure to certain illnesses, thyroid disorders, and even certain pharmaceuticals can temporarily or permanently alter hair texture, shape, and thickness. As an anecdote, my 23andMe genetic traits were extremely accurate. YMMV.
I do NOT have good hand-eye coordination BUT I was incredibly great at sports. Idk how because I could never even understand what was going on. Couldn't even tell you today about how to play flag football, soccer, basketball, or baseball however baseball was my favorite to have to play. My family thinks I'm crazy but when we go back across the country to visit where I grew up everyone talks about it. I think it's bizarre. I always felt total imposter syndrome playing.
They didn't charge me anything with the traits. They have me as a very small baby. I was almost 8 pounds. Some traits they changed over time. I do not have light skin, light eyes or light hair (before it was gray). As my ethnic is Indigenous American and African and Asian and stuff like that. I don't have a cleft chin. I like cilantro. I think everyone came out introvert. I was and then they changed their mind and decided I was an extrovert. They were really wrong about pets. I have two cats. They said I didn't remember dreams. At one time they said I remembered my dreams. It goes in streaks. Chances are they will change your traits.
Attached, as opposed to free. If you have that dangling piece below the connection to your head, that is a "free" earlobe. If not, it is an "attached" earlobe.
@@nytn attached earlobe is tied to witchcraft and evil spirits according tosome people, thought it was an ultra ancient tribal from some of billions African tribes 😅excuse for killing some bothering people but found it's somehow known in old times outside of Africa. Maybe because they may look rather elfish idk😳 humans are strange ! Edit it seems there's a reference to this in Paulo Coelho's book Brida but I just heard it from a reader, didn't read the book myself
Ancestry traits had me all messed up in the beginning, but it seems to have evened out a bit. It still says that I have dark hair and no redhead gene though which is a trip cause my hair grows about as copper as a fresh penny straight out my scalp. 🥴
My traits said I would have a low chance of having red hair, which made me laugh. My mom's Scot-Irish side has easily 25 red heads and I have 4 relatives on my Central Italian side who have red hair. I had other traits that didn't make sense as well.
I think some of these "traits" are just guesses based on interviews with people. They may not actually be tied to a gene. That being said, I love cilantro and my daughter hates it. She thinks it tastes like soap. Ancestry got that right for both of us. I found it interesting that they said I would be an endurance runner. I'm not a runner at all, but my Dad was a world-class runner who specialized in the mile. They said I was a morning person and my daughter was a night owl. Absolutely true for both of us. Genetics do influence us. My grandchildren have very different personalities--which could already be felt in the womb. My grandson is very laid back and easy going and the opposite of athletic. He's a geek. He didn't move much in utero, to the point my daughter worried. But my granddaughter was constantly kicking and turning flips in the womb. She has had an outgoing personality from day one. She is curious about everything, super competitive and still loves turning flips! (She's in Cheer and tumbling.) She's 9-years-old and a born leader who falls into that role automatically in every environment and group she finds herself in. But nurture plays a BIG part. We don't have to be defined by nature! Things like leading rather than following and having a strong work ethic, being optimistic, etc., can and should be taught. We have had my step-granddaughter since she was a toddler. She is now a young adult and showing responsible traits that neither of her parents have. These were learned. By nature she was very shy, but she now loves to be funny, play pranks, tease and make smart comments just like my husband and my grandson. We say she is my husband's by nurture and my grandson is his by nature.
Extroverts get charged from being in public. Intorverts get drained. Although they can pull it off really well for short periods of time.(a few hours).
I spent most of my life, trying to make my hair be curly like African-American because I was told I was African-American. I had to take a DNA test for medical reasons. And I was only 4% Africa. My brother took the 23 and me DNA test and his was identical to mine, but I gotmine for medical. my brother is married to an African-American woman so he started making up lies about his African-American heritage. He made himself more than 4%. He made himself 60 %, which is what we were so far as being from north west Europe were 68 %, he left in the Spanish in for some reason which was 4%. He didn’t like the fact that we had Armenian ancestry. He didn’t mind having some Jewish ancestry and he refused to accept his Native American ancestry. Oh well, in America, you can change yourself to whatever you wanna be.
LOL it told me I tolerate heat well and like spicy foods. I am the opposite blander food agrees with my stomach more and hot weather makes me ill (I ❤winter). It did get right that I am a morning person and that I have thin hair though.
The history of your family is very different i would of thought until you made these videos that you were just half native american or assyrian or spanish something of that nature genetics are definitely tricky and awe inspiring?
That's crazy that they are trying to tell people what there personally is basically. If that was accurate in Anyway then they could predict serial killers ahead of time. That's ridiculous. Hair and eye color yeah, but how determined a person is, No way! They would have to know you personally to determine that . Crazy😅
Smart and beautiful 🤩 😅❤ your hair is 💥. Ye im also an introvert but can be extrovert when needed but i need charged batteries for that! 😊 coffe is the shizz and spicy food also! you sound like the female version of me crazy 😂.
This is a BS result that may be influenced by genetic traits, but it omits environmental considerations! How you were raised, who you hung out with, etc. I agree with the commenter who mention it is akin to Tarot Card readings but stating that a Tarot Reading is probably more accurate!
I have not done AncestryDNA traits, but I did do 23&Me traits and I was disappointed. I really felt like the traits were basically describing my father but not me. 23 & Me A. 13% chance of no bald spot, I was bald before 30 years B. 74 % chance no early hair loss, again bald before 30 C. 71% No Back hair, I got back hair D. 1 % chance of very tight curls, my hair was definitely 4C before I lost it. E. 16 % chance of black hair, my hair is definitely the color black (now salt & pepper from middle age) It is also possible that these tests were not really made for Sub Saharan African people. 🤔
@@kaizatengoku3893 I am the darkest sibling I had the tightest curl pattern of my siblings before I lost it And I am the hairiest (chest and back) of my siblings. But 0% Neanderthal. Inherited traits are not something that can be predicated when having children But some soon-to-be parents like to play the mad scientist trait guessing game and are disappointed when they lose.
Ancestry DNA traits has my hair color as light. Um, no. My siblings were all born with blonde hair and later went to dirty blondes and some brown. Me? Popped out with a full head of nearly black hair and it’s stayed that way.
Interesting... But I just don't see how DNA can predict some of these things, especially the behavioral ones. I think you're right not to put much stock in this. I'd check this out if it's a free service, but I'm not giving Ancestry any more $ 😂 "Look at this DNA! She's got to be gorgeous! I'll humble her by criticizing her hand-eye coordination! I remember years ago doing Ancenstry and 23 and me. Very similar results. But then different types of communities. I'll be getting my test back in a few weeks, will let u know how much of a short, non sporty, sniffley, sun burned glasses wearing nerd I am then! Oh, wait, I already I'm those things, LOL!
I got my DNA test from Roots for Real (just indexes and continental breakdown for autosomal), CRI genetics last 5 generations then ancient generations both had indigenous content. My ancestry DNA has no indigenous just African 72 %and European 26%. I have @17000 matches some slam dunk European and through lines connects with a common ancestor if the trees are done. Slave masters sides are proven with this feature. If you are descended from one slave master his father brothers cousins etc may own slaves. Either way I have many white cousins walking around today in addition to the genetic matches! Also my dad's mom was adopted and they knew her birth mother's last name. Her last name matches some of her adopted family hinting they adopted blood related slaves children. I don't care about traits kol
We need to talk about slavery in this country! I think it would produce a healing. My enslaved ancestors were only 3 generations away. I have ancestors emigrated from Scotland, Ireland UK and Germany. I didn't have any from northern Italy but it is in my DNA! The CRI Genetics has a high Italian component in the last 5 generations which is 80% European . Before the last 5 generations my DNA is 80% African with some Caribbean, India, Philippines, China and east African?

I think the african ancestry DNA test is only for fully african Americans shes only like at the 1/16-1/8th african range so idk if it would work for her but maybe
😂 I love celery AND cilantro. But neither my daughter or son-in-law will eat it. It tastes like soap to them. I never knew why until Ancestry said it was genetic. I can't handle spicy food and they got that right too. I'm convinced that liking tea must be genetic too. My mom said she gave it to me in a bottle as a baby and I spit it out. I still don't like it. My husband always accused me of influencing my daughter not to like it. But I didn’t. I wanted her to like it! In the South, you're at a disadvantage if you don't drink iced tea becauseit is served everywhere! But she doesn't like it.

These ancestry tests have not been on point with regards to my traits and such. I’ve done all three as well and the MyHeritage one made a bit more sense for me.
Jewish is not an ethnicity. It is a religion. In this regard, genealogy organizations are misleading.
@victorwar5619, It’s an ethno religion. There are distinct and identifiable genetic markers associated with Jewish ethnicity.
I think you should do s couple more with others and compare the results
@@victorwar5619. You are incorrect
Mine were also incredibly inaccurate in so many ways...
Believes I'm blonde...I'm a dark (almost black) brunette
Believes I have thin hair...I have hair so thick that hairdressers panic.
Believes I'm a morning person...definitely the opposite (attributed to my dad, definitely not)
Unlikely to play a musical instrument...I'm a music major with a specialization in band (my parents met in marching band)
Unlikely to set goals, be motivated, etc...I was a straight A, top 10 student
Unlikely to focus easily...a long attention span since I was a toddler (like sit and watch a full musical long, reading chapter books in elementary school long)
Like a high birth weight baby ... I was 7 pounds...my brothers were smaller than that
Extrovert...definitely more of an introvert
Unlikely to have a pet...I have 2 cats (but I wouldn't say I'm a crazy pet person)
Endurance runner....always excelled at sprinting
Unibrow...no, I don't get a unibrow (maybe a little inwards, but nowhere near a unibrow)
There were also any number of things that seemed to belong to the wrong parent.
trade me for that thick hair!! mine is so fine :'(
Wild stuff😄, next it’ll tell your future
lol it’s looking bleak according to my present performance haha
Lol
Your husband children love you dearly. Live your life for Christ and continue to laugh at the trolls. 🎉🎉🎉
I'm wondering how all of this information will be used by Big Brother/Sister? Will it only lead to marketing implications or more threatening social credit scores or rankings.
I remember sumpn' bout ducks & water.😂 I also nioy how you & ur hubi joke about the haters.💪🏽👍🏽
I wanted to say I think you is awesome. Not only are you incredibly beautiful women you have a beautiful soul you are a wonderful human being.keep doing what you do God bless you ❤❤
Well that made my day, thank you. I'll let Ancestry know that Im not so bad after all 😂
My traits were hilarious!
Cilantro lovers unite!
@@nytn I attended a cooking demonstration this morning. You’d better believe that I loaded up the plate with cilantro!😂
@@nytn Hi Danielle and all reading this! Here's the truth about cilantro and taste. This is from Medical Medium's Life Changing Foods, by Anthony William:
"When a person perceives an abrupt, harsh flavor from the herb, it means that she or he has a higher oxidative rate of heavy metals in her or his system. In other words, if someone dislikes cilantro, there's a good chance he or she really needs it."
The Medical Medium books are life-saving. Here's a link for more about cilantro, it's an amazing herb, and is one of the ingredients in the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie (delicious!). www.medicalmedium.com/blog/cilantro-life-changing-food
Almost 100k subs
It’s so crazy I can’t believe it 🫣
This is too hilarious. Wonder what my hair would be like (it gets REALLY wavy/curly wet and straight dry). I would die if they had "chances of being a serial killer" in there, this feels like Phrenology or craniology 💀
it really does. Maybe with the next update LOL
YMMV.
I really hope people take this stuff for chilling and entertainment rather than for "finding themselves"🙃 btw your hair is wonderful 💞
I hope so too
This is weird how they try and categorize everything. 😱
haha
Your hair is 💯 perfect. I agree with Karel, the rest sounds like a bad tarot reading.
Thank you for making me laugh.
You're the best.
Bold. Love this
Look at Mick Jagger when he had shorter hair, he had attached earlobes.
Some people have no ear lobes, probably by "attached" they mean having a ear lobe (instead of not having it)
Ahhhhh okay then I guess mine isn’t attached!😅
Attached, as opposed to free. If you have that dangling piece below the connection to your head, that is a "free" earlobe. If not, it is an "attached" earlobe.
@@jdee3421 okay I think it's actually in between both. how weird!
Have you posted your percentages like what percentage European versus everything else?
Yes it’s linked at the end of this video, or type in “my heritage” on my channel
Before even watching this video, I can already tell that you have African ancestry in your bloodline. Now I'm going to watch the video to learn more.❤
you are right! this video is not about that, but I did a few on my dna as well
Ancestry traits had me all messed up in the beginning, but it seems to have evened out a bit. It still says that I have dark hair and no redhead gene though which is a trip cause my hair grows about as copper as a fresh penny straight out my scalp. 🥴
LOLLL
Look at the Buddha, his earlobes are detached.
My traits said I would have a low chance of having red hair, which made me laugh. My mom's Scot-Irish side has easily 25 red heads and I have 4 relatives on my Central Italian side who have red hair. I had other traits that didn't make sense as well.
you beat all odds!
Oh yes, genetics do influence personality. It's true and it's mysterious to me1
Extroverts get charged from being in public.
When are you going to talk about portuguese
LOL it told me I tolerate heat well and like spicy foods. I am the opposite blander food agrees with my stomach more and hot weather makes me ill (I ❤winter). It did get right that I am a morning person and that I have thin hair though.
I go into deep mourning when the temps drop below 60.
They are *assertions of false science.* In other words, *psuedoscience.* ☹
The history of your family is very different i would of thought until you made these videos that you were just half native american or assyrian or spanish something of that nature genetics are definitely tricky and awe inspiring?
That's crazy that they are trying to tell people what there personally is basically. If that was accurate in Anyway then they could predict serial killers ahead of time. That's ridiculous. Hair and eye color yeah, but how determined a person is, No way! They would have to know you personally to determine that . Crazy😅
Im afraid for the AI interpretation of these results LOL
@@nytn 😂
Smart and beautiful 🤩 😅❤ your hair is 💥. Ye im also an introvert but can be extrovert when needed but i need charged batteries for that! 😊 coffe is the shizz and spicy food also! you sound like the female version of me crazy 😂.
They seem to be guessing it’s a 50-50 thing.
I didn't want to know that I'm Neanderthal!!
They got all mine right except for 2. They got my birth weight wrong and 1 other.
“I feel judged!” 😂😂😂😂😂
lol
This is a BS result that may be influenced by genetic traits, but it omits environmental considerations! How you were raised, who you hung out with, etc. I agree with the commenter who mention it is akin to Tarot Card readings but stating that a Tarot Reading is probably more accurate!
I have not done AncestryDNA traits, but I did do 23&Me traits and I was disappointed. I really felt like the traits were basically describing my father but not me.
23 & Me
A. 13% chance of no bald spot, I was bald before 30 years
B. 74 % chance no early hair loss, again bald before 30
C. 71% No Back hair, I got back hair
D. 1 % chance of very tight curls, my hair was definitely 4C before I lost it.
E. 16 % chance of black hair, my hair is definitely the color black (now salt & pepper from middle age)
It is also possible that these tests were not really made for Sub Saharan African people. 🤔
but did it know if you were nice or naughty that year? LOL. jk, but that is a really bad trait result. Just goes to show how 50/50 this is.
Are you sure it's 4c?
@@kaizatengoku3893 I am the darkest sibling
I had the tightest curl pattern of my siblings before I lost it
And I am the hairiest (chest and back) of my siblings. But 0% Neanderthal.
Inherited traits are not something that can be predicated when having children
But some soon-to-be parents like to play the mad scientist trait guessing game and are disappointed when they lose.
@@Bohemion.Baxter it could be 4b but ok
Ancestry DNA traits has my hair color as light. Um, no. My siblings were all born with blonde hair and later went to dirty blondes and some brown. Me? Popped out with a full head of nearly black hair and it’s stayed that way.
Interesting... But I just don't see how DNA can predict some of these things, especially the behavioral ones. I think you're right not to put much stock in this. I'd check this out if it's a free service, but I'm not giving Ancestry any more $ 😂

I have sooo much Neanderthal. 😅

Have'nt seen them thru. Probobly just let them be. Have fun friends
I found my traits are 80% accurate.
Myheritage is accurate for some people. For me personally it seems accurate.
I also found the traits inaccurate. Disappointing for sure.
Ignore the traits.
Focus on matches to build your tree.
Pretty much all your traits were right. I don't understand how you think they didn't.
Commenting about over hair straightening stuff ...I just like to know who do you believe your creator is... spirituality..??.
I want to meet you ❤️
Hi. I can't believe, I've gotten so many, Replys, on what I said, in reference to the Word Ghetto 🙂
You probably don't have attached earlobes. Usually only East Asians do.
Come on Sis… Remember Oprah and the Beef industry, they sued her because of what she said, and since she was so influential they saw people listening to her, and following her( THAT’S THEIR $) just like you, and your involvement with people doing their Ancestry… Sis it’s the money that made them get in their feelings!
Why don’t you try AFRICAN ANCESTRY since you already know thats your lineage
I think the african ancestry DNA test is only for fully african Americans shes only like at the 1/16-1/8th african range so idk if it would work for her but maybe
I dont know if it would work. Im usually up to 20% but sometimes as low as 8 or 9% on different tests
Look it up. My earlobes are not attached. Your hair is not permed! No, they accuse you of perming to appear more white.
My earlobes are somewhere in between I think 😃
