You were not a real TH-camr until you had that reaction and come out the other end with a tougher skin. Well at least some come out with a tougher skin or they quit reading their comments. Mine were also incredibly inaccurate in so many ways...
Believes I'm blonde...I'm a dark (almost black) brunette
Believes I have thin hair...I have hair so thick that hairdressers panic.
Believes I'm a morning person...definitely the opposite (attributed to my dad, definitely not)
Unlikely to play a musical instrument...I'm a music major with a specialization in band (my parents met in marching band)
Unlikely to set goals, be motivated, etc...I was a straight A, top 10 student
Unlikely to focus easily...a long attention span since I was a toddler (like sit and watch a full musical long, reading chapter books in elementary school long)
Like a high birth weight baby ... I was 7 pounds...my brothers were smaller than that
    Extrovert...definitely more of an introvert
    Unlikely to have a pet...I have 2 cats (but I wouldn't say I'm a crazy pet person)
    Endurance runner....always excelled at sprinting
Unibrow...no, I don't get a unibrow (maybe a little inwards, but nowhere near a unibrow)
There were also any number of things that seemed to belong to the wrong parent.

And cilantro, my DNA says I hate it, but my taste buds disagree lol. I am like your kids in that I will munch through bunches of the stuff.
It did get my pale & non-freckled skin, light & thin hair, blue eyes, sprinter, strength building, high coffee intake, spicy food lover, musical, longer index finger, and introvert traits right.

@@nytn Hi Danielle and all reading this! Here's the truth about cilantro and taste. This is from Medical Medium's Life Changing Foods, by Anthony William:
"When a person perceives an abrupt, harsh flavor from the herb, it means that she or he has a higher oxidative rate of heavy metals in her or his system. This doesn't mean the person possesses a higher level of toxic heavy metals. Rather, the heavy metals (in this case, usually a combination of aluminum, nickel, and/or copper, at whatever level) in her or his body are corroding rapidly. Corrosion means that there's toxic runoff, which makes its way into a person's lymphatic system and saliva. The moment cilantro makes contact with the mouth, its phytochemicals start to bind onto any oxidative runoff they encounter - if there's a lot of this debris in a person's saliva, it can cause a harsh sensation when eating cilantro. In other words, if someone dislikes cilantro, there's a good chance he or she really needs it."
The Medical Medium books are life-saving. Here's a link for more about cilantro, it's an amazing herb, and is one of the ingredients in the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie (delicious!). www.medicalmedium.com/blog/cilantro-life-changing-food

This is too hilarious. Wonder what my hair would be like (it gets REALLY wavy/curly wet and straight dry). I would die if they had "chances of being a serial killer" in there, this feels like Phrenology or craniology 💀

it really does. Maybe with the next update LOL

    • @brawndothethirstmutilator9848
      @brawndothethirstmutilator9848 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

The theory behind it is much more scientific than Phrenology (which is a hilarious joke “science” by the way 😂). The thing is, these home kits only sequence a small percentage of your DNA. Whole Genome Sequencing should supply much more accuracy.
Also, some of the things they are equipped to test are in the realm of probability. One example is dark chocolate vs. milk chocolate preference. There’s a gene associated with dark chocolate preference. Doesn’t mean that people who have it won’t prefer milk chocolate. Environmental factors can influence those types of things (negative or positive associations with food, familiarity with certain flavors, etc).
Even hair for example. Hormonal status, exposure to certain illnesses, thyroid disorders, and even certain pharmaceuticals can temporarily or permanently alter hair texture, shape, and thickness.
As an anecdote, my 23andMe genetic traits were extremely accurate. YMMV.

If you are both an introvert and extrovert that is known as an ambivert and it’s exactly what you described about being able to do both, but getting drained when going out. Some of the traits seem accurate. This was interesting and I was curious about Ancestry’s traits so it’s good that you did this. As for the sun sneezing it’s called photic sneezing and it’s basically when certain people are in the sun it causes them to sneeze almost like an allergy to the sun. Other companies also have the traits, if you did the other one, I wonder what company is more accurate.

      @@nytn
There is a guy on here, James Frank and he goes over the difference of introverts, extrovert and ambiverts.
An introvert typically doesn’t mind being alone as a lot of people are draining and and extrovert needs to be around people as they get energized from it and an ambivert can be both introverted and extroverted at times, but when there are to many people it’s draining or makes them not feel well to where they have to recover, but while they are out they can have fun in the right environment.
Some would look at extroverts as energy vampires while introverts would be the ones being drained, an ambivert would be in the middle.

I got my DNA test from Roots for Real (just indexes and continental breakdown for autosomal), CRI genetics last 5 generations then ancient generations both had indigenous content. My ancestry DNA has no indigenous just African 72 %and European 26%. I have @17000 matches some slam dunk European and through lines connects with a common ancestor if the trees are done. Slave masters sides are proven with this feature. If you are descended from one slave master his father brothers cousins etc may own slaves. Either way I have many white cousins walking around today in addition to the genetic matches! Also my dad's mom was adopted and they knew her birth mother's last name. Her last name matches some of her adopted family hinting they adopted blood related slaves children. I don't care about traits kol

The CRI Genetics has a high Italian component in the last 5 generations which is 80% European . Before the last 5 generations my DNA is 80% African with some Caribbean, India, Philippines, China and east African?

That natural and potential juxtaposition applies to near all athletic traits, some wont be able to develop much but will have a high starting base while others will have a lower base but can develop much higher than the naturally gifted.
It's a pity we don't get more of the natural and potential analysis.

I think some of these "traits" are just guesses based on interviews with people. They may not actually be tied to a gene. That being said, I love cilantro and my daughter hates it. She thinks it tastes like soap. Ancestry got that right for both of us. I found it interesting that they said I would be an endurance runner. I'm not a runner at all, but my Dad was a world-class runner who specialized in the mile. They said I was a morning person and my daughter was a night owl. Absolutely true for both of us.
Genetics do influence us. My grandchildren have very different personalities--which could already be felt in the womb. My grandson is very laid back and easy going and the opposite of athletic. He's a geek. He didn't move much in utero, to the point my daughter worried. But my granddaughter was constantly kicking and turning flips in the womb. She has had an outgoing personality from day one. She is curious about everything, super competitive and still loves turning flips! (She's in Cheer and tumbling.) She's 9-years-old and a born leader who falls into that role automatically in every environment and group she finds herself in.
But nurture plays a BIG part. We don't have to be defined by nature! Things like leading rather than following and having a strong work ethic, being optimistic, etc., can and should be taught. We have had my step-granddaughter since she was a toddler. She is now a young adult and showing responsible traits that neither of her parents have. These were learned. By nature she was very shy, but she now loves to be funny, play pranks, tease and make smart comments just like my husband and my grandson. We say she is my husband's by nurture and my grandson is his by nature.

    B. 74 % chance no early hair loss, again bald before 30
    C. 71% No Back hair, I got back hair
    D. 1 % chance of very tight curls, my hair was definitely 4C before I lost it.
