LeeeOowwe 🎉❤😂 Jen the blanket is gorgeous, but that border is Amazing🎉🎉🎉 definitely a labor of love, and could be a bridal shower present. Or college grad gift for Juju...
I love Lion Brand Ice Cream yarn 🧶💖 I have two different color ways of Roving Divigation, two of Smoothie, two of the Cotton Blend and five of the regular Ice Cream.
I watched an older video of your show about a week ago. I must say I am very proud of the progress you’ve made with your weight loss journey. If you ever need motivation to continue go watch an older video. Your are a beautiful person with or without the weight. But you are getting more beautiful by the day.
I made a beautiful afghan out of the Ice cream yarn, I believe Big Scoup. The baby was thrilled with the colors and textures. I made a ripple afghan. Now on to a Red, white and black baby afghan, and I think I will make the Jacob's Ladder.
Jennifer I cannot wait to hear your review on Lion Brand ice cream yarn! It is such a beautiful yarn! I think you are project that you made with the Lion Brand ice cream yarn looks amazing!
We have Faygo down in the St Lous area where I'm from. That pink cream soda OMG that's the best cream soda to me. I finally found Faygo here at IGA, and yeah I get it when its on sale. My husband found Bomb Pop flavored Faygo at Roses, I didn't try it because it wasn't a diet, he did he loved it. I've started storing all of my finished projects and yarn with a dryer sheet in the totes.
The ice cream yarn has beautiful colors! I bought some years ago.; I haven’t checked out any of the new colors. The spiral blanket is absolutely gorgeous!! I am the same way, I cannot crochet with a solid color because I get bored ! I need a mix of different colors!
Thanks for the introduction to this Lion Brand Yarn. When I start making baby caps and chemo hats, that would probably be good choices. I just have to watch for sales!
Good morning, Jennifer! They are really pretty yarns. I will hold off on new yarns right now. I have no more places to store yarn and I have like 4 + projects that are in progress. I was looking for something the other day and found projects that I had put aside and forgot about. Now I know where my missing hooks are.
Happy Wednesday..I made hooded ponchos for my 5 great nieces out of the ice cream divigation. The squish factor of the fabric is out of the world they wouldn't take them off❤
Love that yarn-will be clicking on that link! I went to buy some of my favorite yarn the other day and I couldn't believe how expensive it was. It was a cotton cake that used to be around $8 and now is $12! I was in shock. I will have to look for the coupons. Have a great day!
Love the spiral blanket! The border is beautiful. I just ordered a 3pk of the roving from "Joann" 😂. It was on sale plus I had an additional 25% off so I think it came out to @ $7 a ball. It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow, I'm excited! Ya know it's the little things! 😂 Have a great day!
I agree with you, Jennifer that yarn prices are outrageous. I bought some Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cakes when they were on sale at Michaels, maybe a month ago. Now that same yarn is being sold at $12..99 and $13.99. That is highway robbery!!! I refuse to pay that for any yarn!! If prices keep going up, i won't be able to afford to crochet anymore. I love the baby blanket you made and showed. it's so pretty!!!
The baby quilt is gorgeous! I'm so glad you showed it to us. I found the book so now seeing yours, I have to make it. Not sure what yarn I'll use. First one is MINE.
I made a baby blanket for my grandson using the blue roving one. It turned out beautiful and was wonderful to work with. I think you're really going to like it.
Good morning, Jennifer, The roving is gorgeous. I've made a couple of blankets with it and got TONS of compliments... It is so soft and squishy, and the colorways work up beautifully. However, it is seriously a pain to frog. And no, I wouldn't pay full price for it either. I got more mine on clearance at Mary Maxim last year for about $4/ball and bought one extra ball on clearance at JoAnn a month or so ago for $6.50 and almost choked paying that... 😂 Have a great day. 🐞
I really love the spiral blanket 🤗 I had the ice cream big scoop in Moose Tracks(pink blue, purple, yellow and white) and made a 5 point star baby blanket. It turned out really cute but, took what seemed like an eternity because of it being a #3. I got it for $2.99 on clearance. I looked everywhere in the store to find more but, no luck. I have a big scoop in Green Tea, it is so pretty. I wasn't sure about a pattern until now. It would look nice in the spiral.😊 Thank you for showing us your blanket. I absolutely love the Big Scoop Moon Mist, very pretty colors.🤗 Wishing you a beautiful blessed day!🙏🏻🤗💖
Your spiral blanket is so pretty, love the border. I LOVE all Ice Cream yarns! I am currently, while watching this, working with the Roving type. This is a very very nice roving type of yarn. The colors are beautiful and it works up beautifully. I miss the Smoothie too. It was awesome. I always wait for the sales, for sure.
A year or two ago, Michaels had the Ice Cream Divigation on clearance so i made three blankets with it. Love it. But I won't pay full price for it either! Love your blanket and border.
Hi Jennifer thank you for your review I just received the roving divagnation in my santa sack for 19.99 first time using it I LOVE it i like the ice cream yarn but i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!
Hi Jen, lovely blanket. A little tip providing the smell doesn’t bother you…I put not only dryer sheets in my bins of stuff but also cedar blocks/chips or lavender sachets.
When you hesitated on what is so... "Fffff.... Fantastic about this yarn". I literally raised my eyebrows, thinking you were gonna say something else...🤣🤣😜😜
I love the Ice Cream yarns. I have bought the regular size and the Big Scoop, and they both make up so pretty. One of my favorite summer tops is made from a ball of Big Scoop. I knitted two panels from Feather and Fan stitch and sewed them together at the shoulders and sides, and then crocheted around the neck. It washes and dries perfectly, and so far, it hasn't pulled at all. I love Lion Brand yarns!
I loved the smoothie yarn, I had blueberry fudge. 😞So pretty!!! Lion brand discontinues stuff I thought was popular. I can’t find shawl in a ball/cake. Guess I should check site to see if it’s gone! And yes Ice cream is lovely but afraid they will discontinue that as well, so unless I have specific project in mind, no bueno.
Ice Yarn has the identical yarn for the Ice Cream yarn called Baby Batik. They have the colors you were showing and they also used to have the color that your blanket was made in but I don't see that one anymore.
I got a ball of Ice Cream Roving in that beautiful pink and purple colorway (Shirley Temple) for 30% off AND I had a $5 coupon! Yotal was $10 including shipping! Yay!
The surreal blanket is gorgeous. I like the ice cream rubbing but it definitely needs to be a certain type of project so the thick thin differences don't matter or even make it more interesting
Oh my gosh with you on the roving. (And ugh prices in general- offensively expensive, yes! Perfect phrasing. I like Caron cakes but they’re even more offensively expensive so I stick to the mandala and get those with the Joann’s coupons lol.) I wish I could’ve found more but I got a single gorgeous coral toned roving skein on the Joann clearance plus extra 25%. Solidly good price then. And uggggh. Anti polling acrylic ice cream sounds like a dream. I don’t love the texture of their acrylic more and more. Been working with a lot of mandala and some ice cream and ehhh. Though ohhhh. So maybe you won’t love it as much as me but have you worked up any of the Mandala String yarn yet? I alluded to what a wildly difficult time im going through on one of your videos late last week and I threw myself at Hobby Lobby because I couldn’t focus on a dang thing and wanted new yarn and a new project and pretty impulsively chose a rather terribly written Drops brand pattern for a sweater but I flipping LOVE this Mandala String yarn!!! It is weird how different one skein can look from another in the same color way and I didn’t think there was enough of any color on the shelf because of that. I’m annoyed that I somehow wanted the one shade I keep seeing people picking up but it didn’t look the same at the store so I put that down but I did buy three skeins of three colors and the sweater I’m doing is with the Ballad color. It’s an interesting blend of greys and what seems to be a smaller amount of brown (yet the label seems to imply the opposite?) I’ve never really seen brown grey together quite like this and I’m not a brown person. I do like greys. But I think I’m enjoying it precisely because it’s so different from everything else I usually make. But good gosh this stuff is a pleasure to work with. Not at all splitty. I love the texture. And I’m actually using a 3.25mm hook to match gauge on the sweater pattern though the label recommends a 4. Pattern I’m using said 3.5 I gauge swatched in 3.75 thinking from my last fingering weight project I was going to want to size up not down, went to the 3.5, settled on the 3.25. It’s surprising me how soft it still feels worked up with such a markedly smaller hook size than recommended. It is such a lovely garment texture. Cannot stop raving about this stuff. And happy to report, while I notice it a tiny bit (couple of points where the yarn thinned out a little from baseline size, but no thick patches I’ve seen) it doesn’t seem to suffer from the same issues the DK mandala/ mandala baby and the dk ice cream all for where you get a lot of thinner and thicker patches in the yarn. Seems to be a vary characteristic Lion Brand acrylic issue but not seeing it really with the string. So that’s nice. And ha. I posted my comment and came back to edit because you also mentioned the thick/thin deal. I don’t like it, especially the really fat bits and will roll it in my fingers to get it more even. Drives me nuts. And oh my gosh, your blanket is absolutely stunning! Gorgeous color way and pattern. And that size is so nice for the kind of baby blanket a kid grows up attached to. I still have a “blankie” as an adult (though not my baby blanket. That thing was in tattered shreds by the time I was 8 or 9 because I was a security blanket kid big time). The best handmade baby blankets have good blankie potential, IMO. And here for the Faygo talk. Though I have never been able to tolerate carbonated beverages. That’s one of my sensory things. And I need to check a label but I have some Blue Moon and it’s not Moon Mist or whatever you were just holding up. That skein you have had purple in it. The Blue Moon I’ve got does not have any purple. It’s got more blue tones with the white. So I don’t think it was renamed. Different shades.
I haven't had the opportunity to try the ice cream yarn. It is a very nice yarn. Your spiral blanket is stunning. A question I can't find the large ball of the premier basix on there site. Was it just a special they put out?

I would love to try to make that blanket; is there a way to get the pattern? I know it was in one of your older books.
my problem with the 'roving' style yarns, is that as a left-handed crocheter, the movement of my hook untwists the yarn, and it gets super splitty!!
