I have the TKO, which is good but the edge guard is broken in 3 places in 3 months. Sending it back for fixing. Hope it doesn’t take too long. Cost money and have to wait.
Great review - just ordered the ESQ-C 14.3 - I think I may just dive off the high board and try your .5 tape around the perimeter setup - keep up the good work man - thanks!
Wonder if I'm the only one expecting the bigger paddle companies to be coming out with new paddles that thermoformed although the 5.5 inch handle, lower swing weight and lifetime warranty are definitely nice
@@ernest4483 I use the 12.7 MM pretty unforgiving but I was able to make the adjustment and it takes a little more focus and effort but I'm able to reset/drop/dink just fine. In return my drives, speed ups and counters are highly effective.
Another great content and review Jacob of the Bantams ESQ-C, I do have the the TKO-CX 14.3mm, the ESQ-C 14.3mm is tempting and eyeing on it, red and white version looks awesome
@@AllDriveNoDropPickleballYour welcome Jacob, btw I pulled the trigger and purchased the Bantam ESQ-C 14.3mm version Aurora colorway it will be arriving next week can't wait to play with the paddle, I do have the Bantam TKO-CX 14.3mm Riptide colorway so far I'm liking it the power and pop is there spin is ridiculous
I have the ALW-C 12.7 and love it. You definitely need to weigh it for the sweet spot, otherwise it the ball dies - specially closer to the handle. I would like to try the 14.3 as well. Thanks! Good review!
Good review! Would you say the difference in control is massively different between the 12.7 & the 14.3 or incremental? Also, is the 14.3 still pretty good for hands battles or do you give up too much vs. the 12.7? Thanks
I have an R2 Ripple now and I find it a bit much to control at this point. My main is a 16mm Monarch All Court. Looking to see if it's worth getting an ESQ. Would I be gaining power and pop, but decreasing control if I got a 14.3 compared to my Monarch? The 12.7 would probably be too hard to control? Thanks!
Yeah, especially adding weight to it you will be getting a power and pop upgrade and sacrificing some sweet spot and control. I think the 14.3 ESQ is controllable for good amount with practice
Thanks for reviewing them. I guess one of the closest that you can compare these to is the Jelly Bean, since that’s not thermoformed too. I would assume that the Jelly Bean would have more control vs these, but since you’ve played with them, I would like to ask your thoughts.
Yeah, Jelly Bean has a lot more control. They have the same gen 1 construction but whatever polymer core Paddletek uses has a lot more juice in it. These are also come lighter with a lower SW. The Jelly Bean has more control and is easier to use if you struggle with poppy paddles.
so coming from a monarch all court is it worth it for me to upgrade to the 12.7? or should i just be going for the ripple r2? or is there not enough of a difference that i should be waiting for something new. i love the all court just wish it had more power.
12.7 is a big enough power and pop upgrade to be worth it. The ripple goes even farther than that just depends on if you want the extreme and it is harder to control.
So many good paddles out. Love your reviews. I main a j2k now. Thi king about the esqc or the ripple r2. I love the sweet spot of j2k and the controllability. Just want more pop on counters and a touch more power. Would u go r2 or esqc
I didn’t notice the table or mention where you show the before and after weight setup for SW/TW/balance/etc,etc. do you have a timestamp so I can refer to it?
I want your opinion on something. The PaddleTek paddles seem to be the most common used paddle for sale on the Discord Marketplace. Do you think it’s because they are so popular or because they aren’t for everyone (people try it and move on). Well?
Hi Jacob, I've seen a few reviewers compare the TMPR TC-14 Pro to some of the Paddletek paddles. What are your thoughts comparing the TC-14 Pro to the TKO and the new ALW/ESQ paddles?
Yeah, it is a great choice if you want something similar in the hybrid shape. Definitely needs to be weighted up to get too performance as it is a little twisty on resets
@AllDriveNoDropPickleball the TC-14 seems like such an interesting paddle. Would you consider it plush with longer dwell time or stiff feeling? I wish there are more reviews on it. That being said, for whatever reason, there are so many USA- made paddle companies in Michigan!
@AllDriveNoDropPickleball I did a couple times. Just rewatched it and realize I forgot some points you went through on that review. Really sorry about that. How would you compare the feel of it vs the Ronbus Pulsar FX? The FX is on the top of my list after your suggestion from before, as well as the Nexus Prostar, but I'm always trying to keep in mind of the made in US options as well.

@@RTJ-PB How has it been?
It’s great - definitely recommend weighting all the way around with the .5 tape - still light and hits hard!

Another great review Jacob! I wish Paddltek made a hybrid with that technology. The Bantam esq with a little more length would be great.
Thank you! For sure, a hybrid would be a nice addition to their lineup.
R u still liking these or r you back on hybrids? 🎉
I play all shapes constantly right now busy paddle season
What would be difference in ALW and ALW-C? Is it worth extra cost for the C? I like a shorter handle. Not a two handed backhand player
They are very similar if you already have the old version I’d only upgrade the if you want the longer handle
Great stuff. Where’s the best tungsten placement on Alw-c 12.7 (new version)? 1/2 g or 1g per inch? Thanks
I go all the way around starting at the top of the handle but going from the top to bottom corner helps too
Good review! Would you say the difference in control is massively different between the 12.7 & the 14.3 or incremental? Also, is the 14.3 still pretty good for hands battles or do you give up too much vs. the 12.7? Thanks
Both are good for hands battles. The difference is enough to make an impact in control for sure between the two thicknesses.
So can that difference be minimized with addition of perimeter weighting?
@@greggzel5662 Yeah, it definitely helps. Sounds like you want me to talk you into one thing. Both are good just depends which tradeoff you want

Swing weight is low, but do you find that the wide paddle limits your ability to “whip it” due to wind drag ??
Maybe a little on something like a one handed backhand swinging volley but I think it is easier on speedups and rolls
In the video, you said they compare to 2 of the paddles that aren't out officially. What paddles would that be?
Ripple

More power and control than a 6.0 Black Diamond?

7.9 I believe
