This is why there is a lost generation. If you don’t even know how to parent then it’s not the child’s fault. It’s the parent’s fault.
So glad they had an aunty like this who helped save their family.

Our parents are uneducated so they're not very smart especially when it comes to raising children. They think that by scolding us and saying mean words to us will motivate us to better ourselves. They don't know nor understand that their words carry weight. The mean words they say to us does nothing but puts us down and destroys our minds. This is why I vowed to myself that when I have my own children, I won't treat them how my parents treated me. I have 5 kids and I've never used harsh words to put them down intentionally. My kids and I talk like we're best friends and I make sure they know that they can come to me with everything they want to talk about.
I'm very happy you have some great friends and family who were able to be there for you and helped you when you needed it the most. Good luck to you, son.

The worst thing and most heartbreaking thing any parents can do is kick their children out of the house without love and support.

Pretty much your parents failed. I'm glad Aunty took you under her wings. Plus if I were you I would just be quiet around parent go accomplish greatness and have them apologize.

So happy for you that you didn't take a decade to learn the lesson. I believe what helped you succeed was that you didn't let too much time go by. Most people must hit bottom to want change, and if they survive, they will climb back up. Some people die while they're at the bottom. Not all can come back. You're very fortunate to have that auntie. If you were homeless, it would be hard to come back. I understand your parents' position, too.

All sons should learn from him. Pay your own wife.
