Definitely my favourite podcast channel. I was laughing when Alex said “remember when collecting cd’s was cool” meanwhile my money, time and energy goes to collecting cd’s especially for all these hard to find MySpace era stuff that I used to love back in the day.
Heck yeah I had a huge cd case for a while
So many MySpace bands lost, so many damn good acts too!

I love Koeler one of the Deathcore og bands that got me into the heavier stuff so much respect and im excited with him coming back in Ameonna, so far my favorite song is Cut Me, Crave Me. The Deathcore scene doesnt feel the same without him he just gets experimental with it and i miss his old style cant wait for him to mix his old style with the modern Deathcore scene 😩
Damn I remember being 14 waiting for Ashes to Ashes come out in the summer and preordering all the merch that was 6-7 years ago and I’m 21 now time is flying...

Dude, i noticed that Alex's voice has changed A LOT throughout the years.
After we toured with them foe a bit he started doing vocal warm ups and really taking his vocals more seriously

@@Snihctih bro drinking drys out your throat so bad, I make sure I haven’t had a drink in 24 hours if I try and do vocals.
Constant touring is not good for voice, no surprise his voice got in better shape.

This is awesome. Chelsea Grin was my gateway into deathcore. I remember hearing about them from so random people just a little older than me when i was walking around a town. I was in middleschool at the time, i think. They saw my Asking Alexandria shirt and said, "You wanna hear some real heavy shit? Check out Chelsea Grin." It was a game changer. They had 2 albums out at the time, i grabbed both of them from my local record store and put them on my iPod nano. Blasted them nonstop. Alex was my idol when it came to wanting to join a deathcore band and do vocals. My band from high school would cover so many songs by CG. He seems like such a cool dude. It's awesome seeing him get sober, too, since when he started sobriety, it was also when i recognized i needed to drop the substance i was using too. Was rough. He seems different these days in how he talks and prevents himself. In a good in healthy way. It's good to see him doing well. Thanks for this one, guys.

I come from a band where our style always changed but we also had a new singer at a certain point, but I know what you mean. I always see it as different eras, because some of the people that work hard for the band are still there giving their all.

I think he was drinking a lot and the lifestyle was taking a tole on his mental health

I'm gonna sound like a hater but that's fine. For the love of god Alex Koehler, see this and BEG CG to let you back in. Tom Barber is absolute garbage, he can't write to save his life, and you're needed to save the group from the void of forgotten bands.
Seems like he is doing great not doing the band thing. I applaud anyone who can walk away from that life and do something else to avoid addiction and kill it.
@@nerdingoutwithrickshaw7817 I'd agree but he didn't have to entirely change genres to be on his own and I really can imagine that with the pandemic and the band not touring anyway, he would've been just fine staying with CG. It sucks to see them fall apart, and him have a truly awful solo career, just because they can't make amends.
@@1Maverick2 well as a musician who stopped touring, we all need a side project. Seems to me like he stopped touring because of an alcoholic addiction. Period. He then needed an outlet for a project to form. He definitely did not quit cg to do grudges full time. He quit to get his life back together.
