OK lets see if we can fix this: You are using imp, but didn't pick up improved firebolt talent. Also skipped Shadowburn talent for some reason. Spirit is missing from the stat priority and should be just below crit, int is too high and should be below spirit. Siphon life is not worth casting unless you need extra healing. It doesn't gain or lose dps adding it to the rotation. Death Coil is NOT a dot. Shadowflame IS a dot. Nightfall is not higher priority than refreshing a dot, you should just consume it when you would normally cast a shadow bolt. Dots are about 75% of the build's damage, not half. The list of spells and damage you looked at was across all bosses. On Sulfuron and Domo, this build casts corruption once on each target then spams SBV until the fight ends. This is why shadow bolt is over-represented in the list you showed. The build also has incredible AOE, doing upwards of 7.5k in current gear and just over 9k in bis gear according to sims. Drain soul execute is a dps loss, just continue casting normally. When the boss is just about to die and you wouldn't be able to finish casting a shadow bolt and it land in time, switch to Drain Soul to get 1-2 ticks off, then shadowburn to finish it.
good stuff. Spirits are def overlooked. Imo, Spell > spirit > critic > hit > int. I'd love to see the calculation of drain soul vs SB damage as filler. Still trying to figure that out.

Fun fact (from someone who got 3 100 parses by item level last week). For aoe fights like Lucifron, Gehhenas, Garr, Sufuron Harbinger, and Majordomo, Felguard is actually more dps than unstable affliction. Similar talent build, but you put your corruption on everything then spam shadowbolt volley. Additionally, as we get our tier bonuses and get our tier sets, im confident that destro will outscale affliction. Affliction greatly benefits early in the phase due to suppression limiting the relevance of hit% on gear (still somewhat relevant, but not nearly as much)
Sims show Affliction decently ahead of Destro in full bis, both in 226 FR requirement and normal gear. Affliction is also quite a bit ahead in AOE for Sulfuron/Domo. Backdraft SBVs can't keep up with shadow mastery and nightfall, particularly with the 6p bonus. The 6p bonus does basically nothing for fire, but is solid for shadow. 4% on immolate or shadowflame tick results in 1 proc per 2 minutes on average. Nightfall can proc from Drain Life every second and corruption every 3 seconds. 6P + 5-6 target corruption means you are just chaining instant shadow bolt volleys.
@@FurryCombatWombat I was jumping around a bit addressing your points. Destro won't out scale in single target or SBV (hence my backdraft comment). And yes, I'm aware you don't drain life during SBV, the drain life comment was about single target. I run the sim list for warlock discord so I do know a thing or two ;)
Why would you not use Mark of Chaos rune? The spell text is NOT what the actual debuff does. Reduces ALL magic resistance by 75 AND increases ALL magic dmg by 10%
Ruin does not work with ur dots the only dot that I think it works with might be unstable affliction because it might count it as immolate other than that none of ur other dots benefit from ruin.
The most important mechanic about this spec is missing in this video, this build is all about buffing Corruption with everything you got on pull, and keep refreshing that SAME Corruption the rest of the fight cause it keeps all the buffs you had on the first cast.
Do people actually use Siphon Life? Based on what I remember from Vanilla/classic, the damage doesn't seem that great and assuming nothing changed, does it deserve a GCD?
no idea why it's being advertised here but it's not good, even with crit. If you look at the top Warlocks nobody's using it (apart from Onyxia P2 maybe). The other spells take up enough of the rotation so that things work out exactly right without it.
this guide is a joke dont follow this people death coil is not efven a dot and have 2 min cd and this guys want you to keep it up all the time sure... also haunt is not a dot but will boost the dmg of all ur dot during is duration.
he's probably relying on another warlock to do that buffing/debuffing, but if you're the only warlock in the raid there's no excuse not to use both Mark of Chaos and Demonic Pact (they'll increase your own damage much more than Everlasting and Shadowflame will)
@@Zifflin Affliction support doesn't really exist. You lose massive damage dropping EA and Shadowflame, up to 1000 dps in bis gear. Pact and MoC for yourself are less than that. You can use a destro spec and bring Pact/MoC and only lose about 250 dps, by comparison, so most people run Destro for support.
To bad I'm the only lock in my H3 raid and need to run Demonic Pact and Mark of Chaos runes and keep up Curse of Reck on the bosses :( Support Destro it is!
1st u used a whole destro points just for shadowbolt, thats a filler??? remember it suppose to be affliction spec. the only good i can see with that spec is the aoe dmg through shadow bolt volley. is it better to get the rest points from demonology? 2nd is it better to use mark of chaos that reduce res + increase magic dmg instead of shadowflame? also thats a bonus for raid. 3d everlasting affliction rune?why not demonic pact. it does a bit less dmg but the whole raid gets advantage of it. remember u arent raiding alone, its a team work. also head and boots from 0.5 are bis items. they arent crap. as spellcaster u need 16% hit to be caped.....warlocks have it hard.destro maybe 5-6% and aff if u have 5/5 suppression 10-11% at best. so yea warlocks suffer in hit. and since in ur list u prio hit, why u say that boots are crap - the felheart boots (set t1) dont have hit and they have shadow prot!...not even fire. can u plz explain why u choose those skills/runes/etc?
SM/Ruin provides more dmg than demo tree. Especially in AoE fights where you run Shadowbolt Volley, those crits are insane. As you said yourself, this is affliction guide so Everlasting Affliction and Shadowflame are runes that make the spec work, without those runes affliction dps is suffering a lot. Thats why there is a Destruction spec called Fire support (running Demonic Pact and Mark of Chaos) if there is only 1 warlock in the raid he should be running that build because whole raid benefits from it. Deathmist boots, gloves and helmet are great for Heat 1 or Heat 2 but you cant use them in Heat 3 because you need the fire resistance. All T1 pieces have Fire Resistance on it, items have been changed Edit: You dont need 10% hit as affliction, Shadowbolt is not 50% of dmg, the stats he showed were from ALL FIGHTS, including AoE fights where you just apply corruption on everything and spam Shadowbolt volley. So in most fights we dont care that much if our Shadowbolt resists
i feel like i need to start making videos on warlocks, shits off homie. spirit after crit, below intelect. death coils not a dot. siphone life sucks asscheeks. always haunt before dots for 18%

@Maxvla
aoe just swap hand rune for SBV? what about fighting 2 trash mobs like the giants?
Yeah... When he said death coil was another dot I realised.. why am I listening to a warrior explain warlock?
I think you need to talk to more warlock mains before putting up a video. Lots of things wrong with this video.
Uh yes man xD
Dont ever listen to his guides there is always something wrong that people point out. If u do listen dont complain later that u do less dps.

You probably mean shadowflame not UA, and yes it does benefit from both, since immolate does as well, and SF benefits from everything immolate does.
we take ruin for shadowbolt and shadowflame crits and thats really it

Can you explain this for me? How does corruption get buffed?
Get PI from disc priest, and trinkets zila gular and ephemeral flame before first corruption. The same corruption will be getting refreshed.
Do people actually use Siphon Life? Based on what I remember from Vanilla/classic, the damage doesn't seem that great and assuming nothing changed, does it deserve a GCD?
Syphon life couldnt crit in vanilla, it does way more damage now
