One of the best videos I’ve seen of the most magnificent piece of technology to ever be created. Such a beautiful plane.

Truely unique, dedicated and wonderful coverage of a very large part of Heathrow that passed away back in 2003. Thanks Gordon for sharing this great footage, I have many great photos of Concorde from '85 onwards but I sure wish I was filming when she was in the air!

I am very late coming to the party with seeing this film. Absolutely fantastic. What a treasure trove. Love the afterburners lit in sequence at 10.45 and that glow from them that I remember so well watching an evening departure like at 11.35. So good you had the foresight to make these recordings and in such good quality too.

I am even more late, but the thing is: I am watching this EXACTALY 16 years after the 3 last landings!

    Great stuff!!
For the history books, some of the volunteers who put BBDG back together again at Brooklands, Webridge, (home of Vickers), first met during these gatherings to watch the last few Concorde arrivals and departures, thanks to the Concorde SST website. Rare footage of the crowds too - goes to show the huge display of affection for the aircraft shown by the British public. Happy days indeed :)

I know that in May of 1994 I was in a wide-bodied something (can't remember what) at Heathrow, heading off toward Atlanta GA. As we reached the stop on the taxi-way the pilot came on and said "Those of you on the left side of the plane will be able to see, and all of you will shortly be able to hear, we are directly behind Speedbird 1, and she's a noisy bird when she lifts, so hold tight and we'll be on our way shortly"!

I am supposed to be studying cost accounting . Instead I am watching a lesson in cost accounting gone bad. I love Concorde.

What AF and BA should have done was send the plane out in style, and have a massive formation flight over Paris, then London, then fly over Bristol and Filton, and as they did so, they break off and turn back, one by one.

To save fuel i guess, it uses up a tremendous amount of fuel during taxiway alone 😂😂😂

She sure ought to, without question. But I suspect that costs and parts availability--to say nothing of political red tape--will prevent it. She's a VERY complex machine, and very expensive to maintain and operate.

    • @MrDaiseymay

NEVER---B.A AND A.F DESTROYED THE AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATES, AS PREARRANGED IN THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT, WHICH ALSO CONTAINED THE MUTUAL AGREEMENT, THAT ONE COMPANY WOULD NEVER FLY , WITHOUT THE OTHER DOING SO. PERHAPS MOST DEPRESSING--ALL THOSE ENGINES ARE NOW SCRAP. THEY HAD TO BE STARTED UP ON A REGULAR BASIS, OTHEWISE THE INTERNALS WERE BEYOND USE.
