Many memories. My dad was mayor in the 60's. Owned the Belvedere Pool and Rink. Strange to see nothing but grass where the pool was. I could only imagine the devastation from Sandy had they not dredged. Nice little drive through. Thanks for this.

Thanks for the kind words. This was just a drive through video a few years ago. I knew your dad, had passes to the pool every year, and was in school with your brother Kim. CD called Memories of Keansburg coming out soon. www.HurricaneWilson.com

Looks exactly like it did in the 70s to me. We used to go in there to get beer when underage. There was an old house with chain link all over the windows and porch. We would go up to a window and knock. It would open a crack, we would say “two cases of bud nips” give the money and the window would close. Walk around to the porch and sitting there would be two cases of bud nips. Can’t believe I grew up doing that, lol.

I lived on Park Ave in 1974 I was just a kid. Somehow we ended up in Arkansas. I miss the boardwalk and the beach.

We grew up in Mddletown across the highway from here on Hialeah Ave and Keansburg Boardwalk was our summer. Now me and hubby lives here and raised our kids here in the old Shaeher house on 18 N. Shore St. Love living here. Its great.

I owned a condo across from the water there a decade ago. The town is corrupt. They know people are selling drugs in certain houses but nothing is done. I was young, educated, involved in the community and working full time. You would think they would want working, community minded people in the town. But they drive out with the high property taxes and high water and sewer bill. Trying to have my taxes reassessed and lowered was the biggest ordeal. I thought I'd have to offer my first born son. I left after hurricane Sandy.

Miss it wen I was a kid so sad it got so bad drugs and gangs and section 8 government ghettos moved in I heard but my twin sister moved out she couldn’t take gun shots her Lil babies so she thankfully was able to buy house far from there and closer to me so I’m grateful she no longer has those issues no more ...

@@joeyreamer1431 True. And businesses down there are still closing up. It was probably nice in the 70s who knows.
