Greetings from the UK. Have stayed in the Taranaki region twice, Bell Block in 2009 and Oakura in 2011. Both times 5 weeks. Lovely memories...great video.
Beach Boy thank you. Not sure of the make of the bars. Where on it when we got it. The guy we bought it off had dropped the bike and the bars dented the tank.
This is a dumb question but I am noob at bikes. Does anyone notice that high pitched like screeching sound the engine makes when accelerating mostly? Like beside the "br br" from the exhaust. What is that?
nzbeeker I have a Virago 400 (recently bought) and it makes that high pitched sound which I don't like. It usually makes it after the engine gets warmer. And I think it comes from somewhere below the tank and not the exhaust. I don't believe it is the exhaust note, but then again Idk much about bikes.
I really don't know to be honest... the ride shown in the video is the ride home from picking it up... Just google the Virago to find out what is stock... But as far as we know, it is standard. Thanks for watching and stay tuned, sub if you haven't already... :-)
+ads311 Yes, I think I knocked the plug/jack where it goes into the bottom of the camera... when I turned my head to the right... it seemed to come right for a bit... but when I turned my head away, it played up again. I think the cable was not plugged in correctly. Sorry about that, and thanks for watching.
Waste of time. No point comparing this to a sports bike twice the size. Obviously you never rode a shaft drive before. How did it pull the higher gears (was it struggling?) The handling? Braking? Basically, you displayed all the issues of a novice, with not much experience; never mind what you have or have had. Too much wobbling about on a bike that has a good reputation for stability, whatever it's other shortcomings may be.
You make me feel very unsafe watching your video. I suspect you may have been drinking Waikato larger! The review was honest but the watching was a roller coaster of expecting you to crash that weird little thing at any moment!
+nzbeeker Yeah, it was caused by the bike being lay'd over and the handlebar came around... the left side of the handlebar dug into the tank... We will either blow it out with a compressor, and seal the gas hole, and blow it out... or will have to get it done by a panel beater... Part 2 is uploading now...

Its the exhaust note, the way it is baffled.

It's called induction noise, it's the airfilter sucking on the air
is this the standart exhaust on the virago?
Thanks

Good video as usual, keep up the awesome videos, but was there a problem with the audio, especially at the start?

that is a noisy sounding motor
+1down4up Yeah, I will check out the oil levels and things today.

Have done an oil and filter change and lowered the idling... Sounds much better now.
