    I laughed when i saw the runtime, Kristian's gonna love this, 29:24 when you take off the intro and end credits. I'd just like some consistency with the runtime, 50m - 40m - 30m, just pick one.
    For me the fight scene dragged on too long since the good guys have deflectors the spit wads the bad guys were shooting did no damage. But the bad guys were destoyed with 1 hit. I liked the first 2 episodes more than this one, would've been better if Shin had shot down Ahsoka's ship on the planet so it seemed like her guns weren't completely useless.

    i enjoyed the ep, i wish it was longer. that said, a few thoughts: i like the direction they are taking with the force, more in line with the ot, the last jedi, rogue one and andor to an extent also, it being something anyone and everyone can experience and utilize to a degree, with some being naturally gifted with using it, while others through practice, patience and education can have it become something that can enhance their everyday abilities like with chirrut imwe for example. i have no fear. all is as the force wills it. i am one with the force and the force is with me. and such and so forth ... and lastly, i want to see sabine embrace her mandalorian side again as well, she was always very good as a mandalorian fighter, why hasnt the show had her utilize this, confuses me so far... looking forward to next week regardless. /blahg.

I know it had a shorter run time going in. I never felt it being short. Had great action, character building , suspense, great short star wars humor, just the right amount. The score was great , and moving the story forward. I say Pffft to the haters. This show is great!!!

    The length is absolutely my biggest complaint! The physics were a little distracting but at least we saw her space suit.

  • @demzre
    @demzre ปีที่แล้ว +51

    While I agree that the run time is too short, Filoni’s experience and strength at writing within this time constraint are quite apparent. How many times have we watched a sub-30-minute episode of Mando S3 or Obi-Wan and we were left unfulfilled?! In ep 3 of Ahsoka, Filoni wrote a complete story that was filled with action and continued to move the story forward. Were there issues with the ep? Sure. But when all said and done, I continued to be excited to see what’s to come.
    I do have to say: I finally feel that Natasha Liu Bordizzo have embraced the character of Sabine in this ep. She was really good and I can see the chemistry building between her and Rosario Dawson.

    • @rowdy2nite
      @rowdy2nite ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree with most of what you said, but I'll add that it's also Filoni greatest weakness that he still works within this animated structure. This episode could have been so much better if it had been even 15 min longer.

    • @josejaro3788
      @josejaro3788 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@user-kw8ek5px6k How was it slow? Plenty of action in this short ep. Can't be go go go the entire show/series. That's how you get The Rise of Skywalker.

    • @josejaro3788
      @josejaro3788 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@user-kw8ek5px6k How was it meandering? I thought that short ep pushed the story forward. We saw how ineffective the new republic is, Sabine isn't just a Mary Sue (because you know folks will complain about that), and Ahsoka can still learn and is not set in her ways. Took a back seat a bit to Sabine. Shows their relationship and respect for each other. Again in such a short episode. Plus they included an awesome dog fight scene right out of a WW2 footage. Ahsoka stepping out on to the wing felt like I was watching an ep of clone wars. Again all in 30 or so min without credits. Now moving forward, I feel like it does need to step it up a bit. It is only 8 episodes. ROS was just fast forward all the way and didn't give the audience a chance to take it all in. Figure things out. It felt shallow and hollow. And I thought the sequels had a lot of potential and didn't completely hate The Last Jedi.

    • @robGwaldo
      @robGwaldo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to try and have fun with it (head cannon) Ahsoka probably went to Luke to vent about Sabine training challenges the first go around after which point he probably said to her, 'you know what got me to have belief in harnessing the force was this time, traveling in hyperspace with Obi-wan...'
      Of course shed want to try what a couple of her mentors had...

    • @NisGaarde
      @NisGaarde ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@robGwaldo Yeah, I'm not against the training method. I'm against the lazy memba-berries writing. Does Sabine need to completely mimic Luke's dialogue? It's almost word for word. I don't know, I just think it could have been done a little more clever.

    • @NisGaarde
      @NisGaarde ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A bit later in that same episode, we get a complete mirror of the TIE Fighter battle from A New Hope. "Woohoo! I got one!". All we needed was Ahsoka saying: "Don't get cocky!". I mean... come on. Let's raise the bar just slightly, shall we?

    The force surrounds and binds everything together. the midichlorians can be measured like dna proteins.but it was always understood that everyone was minimally force sensitive just for being an organism. but only trained powerful force users can really tap into it or control it. especially those with high Midiclorian counts. thats why Jedi children were taken from families.

    I agree that i was left wanting more, but in the grand scheme of things i think that it's a good thing regardless of my personal frustration...
    What i mean is that i prefer a tighter, more dense episode with good pacing, then the snore fest that was the first episode. That episode just dragged things on for waaaaaay too long... but now they used the short time they had to progress the story, concisely explain some lore, add to the character developpement and show cool action set pieces... without having long 3 seconds pauses after each line of dialogue or show endless staring contests.
    To me, each episode is getting better and better and i hope it continues that way. :D

    Yeah, the figures all look cool, but once they're opened, the value of the whole collection goes way down.
    That, and episode three's runtime is abysmal, to say the least, yet the conversation scenes feel like they're being padded for the sake of the runtime, which makes sense since it takes every character at least three seconds of dramatic pause to return dialog to and from one another.

    Loved the scene where she goes out into space. Of course there’s flaws with it ( Why didn’t the bad guys just blast her and the ship) but it was really fun and reminded me of the scenes in the animated shows when they wore spacesuits. Fun but short episode.

      Exactly what I was thinking the whole time lmao I want to love this show but little stuff like this gets to me a bit but other then this and the map plot device it's been pretty good so far. Its hard not to deny the passion being put into this

    I thought the Volume was loved and praised in the beginning. Why is there so much dislike for it now? Definitely keep harping on the time. We wait so long for these series to come out and they end up being so damn short.

    There were some decent action sequences in this episode I suppose. Still, like the first two, I found it to be a bit slow and boring, while Ahsoka is still too stoic and lacking in personality.

    I wasn't bothered at all about the length. I loved the episode, the dynamics between Sabine, Ahsoka and Huyang. All the story chess pieces that mattered made one or two moves, and .... as someone who did watch and enjoy 2 seasons of Star Wars: Resistance 🤩

  • @Dtardi
    @Dtardi ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wasted SO MUCH time during the training sequence with the visor, etc. Ahsoka circled Sabine 3-4 times, etc. With the episode being so short, they should've cut that scene much shorter and added more content.

    Overall it was a good episode that furthered everything that is set up. I thought you would have issue witn the length - Filoni and Favreau are just going to make 'em what they feel is necessary/right - They aren't going to aim for a certain length, and I don't see them changing that.

  • @dbircham
    @dbircham ปีที่แล้ว

    Kristian the length is an ongoing issue with Disney. I think they don't give enough importance to progressive dialogue, not everything has to be a big set piece with special effects. Get some competent actors in a room and set scenes on fire with plot intrigue, thought progressive sound bites and character development ... I loved the episode, but slightly frustrated with the writing, in that there's not enough overall setup. We need Andor-ian influence😊
    Again this show Is GREAT! I love it I love Dawson as Ahsoka ... And I am looking forward to every episode ...I just want the best for it!🔥
